I know that there are a lot of areas around the track but since there is a specific section called Nordschliefe, can someone please point to something that depicts this area. I really don't know anything about the track except it's called Nurburgring. Beyond that I did find these turn names and none of the def's talk about specific sections.

I can tell you know off the top of my head, the Nordschlife section is roughly 14 miles long, and is basically the skinny but of this. Once it opens up onto the small circuit your in the GP section. And there isn't any trees around the GP section either. So if I was explaining this to a three year old I'd say that the Nordschlife section of the track is 14 miles/20 kilometres long and is surrounded by trees and the track is quite narrow. And the GP circuit is about 3-5 kilometres long and is very wide and has no trees around it.

Sorry if I made you feel stupid about it but I'm only trying to make it clear. Also I haven't done a lap yet but I believe the GP section is only the first 3 sections and the Nirdschlife is the other 11? (I don't know how many sectors there are :nervous:

Yes, the first 3 sectors are part of the GP track. Sectors 4 - the last corner are part of the Nordschliefe. The final straight is back to the GP part.

WOW! 10 laps in and only 1 clean lap, so here are the splits!

Anybody point me towards how I register for these?

I had found a thread previously with something about Nurburgring times from the AMG challenge for qualifying purposes but I can't seem to find it now.

Have created a GTP_ PSN ID but I am now unsure of how/if I can register for this.

This thread is what your looking for: GTP_Registry Qualifier - GT5

I would do the link thing but havent figured out how to but it shouldnt be to hard to find under this thread and down a ways in the main menu for the weekly race series.

Cheers Jack found it now. Will start trying to get myself qualified when I get back in from work. Looking at this to keep my interest up now that A-spec is pretty much dead offline.

Always a subtle trip down Sci-Fi memory lane Ren 👍

Nice to see you kept it themed too - Hal was model 9000 ;)

It's worse than that. 1 Ring: 4 wheel drive : 9 lives?

Happy birthday WRS

Joining in but not good around here, even so hoping to know some more of this "twisty" track.
And now, with just nine splits and almost the same on the "grey zone" it´s going to be an absolute nightmare :scared:

First two sessions gave me:

20.090
42.388
31.458
26.808
47.098

Been a while since I've been around here, but it's a nice car to throw at the scenery. Going to be a fun week

I'm finally getting down into the mid 36.xxx on sector 1, but then it all goes horribly wrong and I crash.

Tough track to memorise.

New splits, well at least I keep improving a wee bit each outting.

Bad T1, hate that sector of the track.

Forget to thank Kevin for your posted tune.👍

Your obviously very fast with it, I had to tweak it a bit to suit me. A bit softer in the front and a little higher in the rear. I'm probably using too much of the curbs, and was launching the car off them too much. Your gears are spot on, but I added a bit more BB front and rear. The car turns much better with your setup.

Don't see myself catching you though, your flying around there.👍

My final tune, now i will stick to this settings and try to go faster with it, perhaps 1/2 to 1 second faster ???? no more than this no way to stick to the others 2 aliens. Not for me.:) But, i´m very satisfy with my present time already.

Have a good day everybody.

New splits, using Kevin's tune 👍. The car rotates so perfectly and the gears are spot on, just have to stay away from a lot of kerbs otherwise I end up in the forest

I do find that the car has a tendency to launch in some places if you attack the curbing at apex. I've never really been in the habit of that around here, as even with an optimum tune, that can be an issue.

That said, curbs can be used to your advantage on corner exit in a lot of areas, without issue. It just requires changing up to more of a late apex line, which works OK for the AWD car configuration anyhow.

Nice splits, BTW. I knew I would not be able to get comfortable for very long. :scared:

Given up on this almost as soon as I have started, it's the manic nature of the car - I just can't keep the level of concentration needed for the duration of 1 lap, wasted a day today trying to catch an already poor laptime.

It's a shame for me as I love the flowing nature of the Nurburgring, was doing the 4 hour endurance here in the GTR Touring car and was a different story altogether.

The bit between the two karussels is just amazing....but very dangerous, quite a few horrid off-camber or weird-camber turns that just eat the car up and make you go off in odd ways.

The turn that makes me cack myself more than any other though is that last sequence at 180mph at the very end, I feel like I'm constantly going to fail there.

Gave it an almost two lap run. Car felt too easy to drive once I left the GP circuit on the first lap and that's when I noticed my throttle was already dropping below 100%. Then on the second lap, anytime I took my foot completely off the throttle, it would still be on around 10-20%.

There's just too much of a lap for me to run at my fullest like that.

Same here with my pedals, im thinking about buy a t500rs cuz of that.
Open and reopened them but the problem still **** around, its really frustrating to race in that condition.

My G27 did this a few days ago. First with the brake after with throttle. Solution was to use an electric contact spray on the potentiometer of each pedals, but what fix the problem definitively was to spray also the USB on the PS3, just a light pchitt....👍:). Now it`s perfect ,just like new.
