Steward's Comments:
We get to try our hand at some other aspects of Twin Ring Motegi this week, without cones of death! This is not an original concept, Sjaak actually put us through our paces on a very similar combo in the GT4 days, which was my inspiration for the event. Here is the race thread from GT4 Week 141. And here are the results from that week.

Viewing your Lap Time Splits:

  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay'

  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay Theater' option.
  • While Viewing Your Replay, Choose the "Live Timing Monitor" To View Your Sector Times
  • To post your T1, and T2 Splits, simply post the sector times that are shown in the live timing monitor.
  • The WRS Fetchbot has been updated and will now add your splits together

  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids

Perfect timing. I just got a $20 PSN card this morning.

I'm looking forward to this after driving the 207 and it driving me mad.

I'm planning to run this at the 11th hour (Sunday and/or Monday next week) assuming jet lag doesn't have me beat down too much to drive when I return home after travelling cross country. Kevin -- you're killing me with LMP and Super GT car combos while I'm away.

Good luck to the rest of you (but not Kevin)... don't go so fast that I can't catch you. :sly:

Oh no another awesome WRS combo ruined by combining it the an oval :yuck:

I wanted to participate on Indy aswell till i saw the oval was involved.

Shame

Sorry Kev but it's just my opinion. Hate ovals

Have to spend way to much time on the oval to come up with a competitive time. Time i want to spend on the road course

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. You might want to give the Oval a drive before passing judgement, it's really not very difficult in this case, certainly not as difficult as the Mustang at Indy.

These are probably the best type of combo's when there is more than one layout involved

So a good alternate title for this week would be "Tim is gonna kill me again".

Only this time I have a *chance* of competing in the time trial and I definitely can make the online race.

Actually, the fact that we're doing two layouts does kind of squash any hopes of getting a time I can submit in the single day I'll have to run, but at least there is the online component.

The car is only $900,000 in the NCD. One 600pp seasonal race with 200% bonus on A-Spec #4 will pay for it.

And since it's less than a million, you could always dupe it from your other account.

The leaderboard is updated with matching car and track pics. :)

True. I think with all the loading, and reloading it takes to dupe, it might be faster to run the race, but there's options to get the car and that's never a bad thing. 👍

Yes.

Another (quicker) option, is to put the car up for sharing on your other account and make sure you have that one on your GTP_ tag list. As long as the car is broken in, all you'd have to do is put a setup on it on your other account and it's good to go for offline use.

It's a safeguard I use as my other account has at least one of each car so I'm never stuck in a situation where I can't get to a car on my GTP_ tag.

I guess I'll have to set this one out because I don't have the DLC and don't think I want to spend the cash right now. I'll look and see if I have any spare cash sitting on PSN but they tied up my cash last time w/ Spa. I had to buy a card from Game Stop and then dump the whole thing in my account. If I have any left and I can get just the two tracks I'll be lucky.

It probably still needs breaking in on my other account too, providing it is the same car. I remember a few YellowHat cars.

I may aswell just buy a new one, got £5M burning a hole in my pocket :dopey:

The only DLC tied to an account is the paint and racing suits. Everything else has the "family upgrade" on it that allows it to be shared with any account tied to that region game disc.

I got 8 bukz held hostage at the store, so how do I find the track pack? I hope it's enough cash

Playstation Store -> PS3 Add Ons -> G -> Gran Turismo 5.

All the DLC will be listed there, all 4 tracks in one pack, download is just 100 kb.
