Steward Comments:
Back to Basics this week. The AI can easily be passed before you exit the first turn, so don't let their presence stop you from participating. This event doesn't have a fixed lineup, so if you happen to end up with a tough car at the front, just back out an go back in. Your lineup should improve. 👍

This is the first time we've used the Z4 in GTP_WRS. It's a nice, easy drive with Max PP. Have fun with all that grip. ;)

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind. We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Save your replay

Thread rules:
The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):

  • Lap 1 time
  • Any information which can be used to infer Lap 1 time

The following information can be discussed in this thread :

  • Lap 2 Time

Minimal Number of Splits: 1
Maximum Number of Splits: 1

Viewing your Lap Time:

Submission:

  • All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 77 Submission ) to (Vaxen)
  • Submitted time is the combination of both laps. View your replay, and add Lap 1 time and Lap 2 time together. This total time is also visible in the "Results" Box when you exit your race.

  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:
    [Division#]---M'SS.XXX---GTP_Tag
    (Example-) [division 2]---1'44.678---GTP_EDK
  • You can submit only once
  • Please include in your submission PM your division, GTP_Tag and final lap time
  • The deadline is Monday April 26th 11:59 pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

For this one i SHALL reload my Prologue disk into the machine and give this weeks combo a go :D so SHIFT shall be parked for a little while.

Here's my lap 2.

1'12.666

I've made my own tune to get this, although I don't really know what i'm doing
Only thing I won't touch is the gear ratios, apart from 'final' which i've set to a higher top speed but not the highest as, for whatever reason, I get slower times when I set it too high.

This car's a nice drive, like a go-kart 👍

Oh this looks good. Nice change from London 👍

EDIT: It appears FetchBot has not picked up week 77

Lap 2:

1'11.870

All the races i've done so far in this, the 3 cars in front of me have always been the same cars. Is this the same for everyone who's had a go so far?

My issue: if one gets a 'tough' car at the front, won't one get a better/longer slipstream and thus a boost on the laptime?

This may be a daft question, so humour me.

I've made a small change to the "code" I give the fetchbot in the first post. It was missing a space that's normally there, so this might be on me. :dopey:

I had a couple races in testing different cars for this that put the Atenza at the front, and it was tough to pass without contact. Not in this car, but it did happen.

Lineup is up to each racer. I seriously doubt much advantage can be gained from drafting, as the Atenza was in my way at the apex, so any benefit was more than offset by having to take a much less than optimum line.

Feel free to play around with it, though. 👍

I'm happy with that. Thanks Kevin, much appreciated.

Fastest lap 2 is 1'11.989.

Fastest lap 2 in fastest race is 1'12.148

Fun combo, looking forward to getting out there again.
Had an Alfa leading two Atenzas to turn 1. 👍

When the brake light lets me.

Lap2: 1'12.013

Lap2: 1'11.908

Spending more time looking at the brake level meter.

My tune must be a little rubbish, tyres are smoking well :grumpy:

Phillip.

Wrong settings. I'll try again later. No wonder my times were off pace. hehe! :dopey:

Any objections to us discussing the splits for the second lap? Always helpful to have clues of where you might be losing time.

OK to discuss splits from lap 2. The only thing is, you'll have to catch them in real time, as they do not show up when viewing the replay.

Been a member here for awhile now and never done one of these, I guess it's about time.

Time after one session, 1'12.165

First attempt tonight:

1'11.857

Saw a few about .1 faster but weren't paired up with a very good first lap - tune still needs a little bit of tweaking before I settle down to just pure driving.

Did a few laps this morning to test a tune i still had from a while ago:

1'11.560

Tune i used:

height:-30/-29
spring:9/8
dampers:3/6
toe:-0.04/+0.03
camber:1.6/1.2
brakes:6/7
steering:44

gears:

1st:3.610
2nd:2.168
3rd:1.532
4th:1.200
5th:1.006
6th:0.891

final:3.226

Try it and tell me what you think:tup:

spy.

EDIT:Joost,i see you are here,i think i screwed up with putting in my tune...the fetchbot sees it as a laptime!!!what should i do??...
