A small problem with the Ford GT is the thing is so small getting any sort of design is obstructed by the massive iRacing placed numbers.
Yeah... The Ford GT is one of the most dificult cars to paint, the side intakes are also a pain to get lined up and scaled properly!!A small problem with the Ford GT is the thing is so small getting any sort of design is obstructed by the massive iRacing placed numbers.![]()
I'm not part of GTP team or anything at the moment...hmmm I only get about a half hour a month to even get on iRacing at the moment...but hoping to at least make some time to get on and watch some of you guys do this race, anyway my question is when is this 24hr race happening ?
There's a practice race this Saturday the 17th starts at 8:30 am and the real race is on the 31st. Not sure what the start time is for it yet I don't think its been posted. Since the practice race starts at 8:30 am I'm only assuming the real one on the 31st does as well.
Love it!! And I know a way of kinda' getting around the number plates being on the way!

Anyone gonna be on tonight?
I can do the race start that's no problem for me, I'm usually up before dawn anyways. I can assure you my qualy time won't be the fastest though.Yeah I'll be on around 8 ish. Seems they changed the race time up to 8 am from 8:30. Also I saw that any one of us can qualify but in order for the fastest time to grid the car whoever set the fastest time has to be present when the race starts. They don't have to grid the car and start the race but they have to at least be signed in for the initial start. So I guess pretty much whoever plans to start the race or can be there for the start needs to qualify.
Also we need to try and figure out between now and tomorrow night how we are going to do about saturday. I'm good now for whenever but I'm not much of a morning person more the late night type so I can do the late nights stints midnight and after that's no problem. I guess we just need to work out how long the stints will be and come up with a list. That's assuming we can choose ourselves how long we can run and its not a certain % dictated by iracing or something.
I'm on the West coast, so race start/finish is 5am for me. Would like to avoid that if I can. I can do a late shift if we need it, or just do shifts during the day.
Edit: Just had a solid 24 lap run, finally got the bus-stop down. Now if HPD's would stop pushing me off the track, I'd be all set!
Yeah I think we should try and figure out a plan tonight for tomorrow. I did ask in the FAQ thread on iracing about the stints. Basically we have to do our fair share of laps. We need to just figure out how many total laps there will be and divide it by 5. For the most part we just need to do 2, 2.5 hour stints and that should cover it. Don't matter how many stints we do or how its broken down long as we all do our fair share of laps.
I didn't get a chance to practice any last night but will be on tonight. Jersey if you could send me your setup I would like to try it. The night before last I practiced some and got more consistent and lowered my average time over a race run but I'm way off your times now. I'm still running high 46 low 47's in the first laps and at 47.5-47.7 towards the end of a fuel run. Getting a bit frustrated with this weather as it seems I cant gain anymore speed really. I'm more or less running the same times now as I was when the weather first switched over.
That sounds good just send it through a iracing pm and when I get on later I'll give it a try. I know its more about being consistent than fast laps especially in a 24 hr race but I just get aggravated sometimes on the road side cause like this week Im running the same times now after all this practice as I was on the first day with hardly no practice. I am little bit quicker at the end of a run than I was then so that's somewhat good but on the road side I'm just not that great at setups. All my time on iracing has been spent setting up oval cars so I still need to get better at the road setup stuff.
Yo can just put what's covered by the plate on top of it and use the car_decal_xxx46 to see it in game...
I'll be there! We have a lot to plan, wish I had a freaking mic...OK guys I'll be online around 9 pm ish maybe little later for some more practice. We need to really get figured out who is driving when by the time the race starts. As of now we got Jersey leading us off and jav is working and cant get on until about 5 and arror is good for anytime except early morning/late night his time so that puts me and Jonsey at whatever so if its ok with you guys I can make us up a schedule tonight before I go to bed keeping in mind what I just posted above. Jonsey hasn't posted in a couple of days so sure hope hes still in lol.
@smuffyatfcp Paint is looking great!
Q: How to sign up for a team event?
You can join a team event several ways. First, you can register for the event on one of your teams that you previously created. Second, you can create a team when you register for the event and allow others looking for a team to join your team during the event registration. Third, you can register for the event and select a team you are already on or join a new one that is recruiting.
It is important to note that if you are not joining the event during normal registration you will already need to be a part of team in order to join later. Existing team members can join the team event as part of the team at any point during the event. If you are looking to join a team for the event it must be done prior to the event or at registration time.
Q) What does "fair share" mean?
A fair share is computed as one-quarter (25%) of an equal share of the laps your team completes. If the requirement is a minimum of two drivers and your team completes 200 laps, then the equal share will be 25 laps (equal share = 100 divided by 4 = 25). Note that any fractional laps will be bumped up to the next whole number of laps.
If your team fielded 4 drivers for 200 laps the fair share for each driver would be 13 laps. (200/4/4 rounded up).
Q) Minimum and maximum number of drivers?
For the Roar before the 24 and the Daytona 24 the minimum number is 2 and the max number is 16. Note that only six may be connected to the race server at any one time.
Q) How does Qualifying work?
The best qualifying time of all team members fully registered in the event when it goes live are considered. This means you need to make sure your fastest driver is online and registered for the start of the session. This driver does not need to start the race however.
Q) How does splitting work?
The iRatings of all team members that are eligible to drive the car and are fully registered when the session is launched are included in the team’s “iRating” for the purpose of deciding how the teams will be split into run-groups.
Q) How does scoring work?
At the end of the race, the results will show the winning team (and finishing positions of all teams) and individual stats for each driver on a team. There are no team season points currently. Individual points will be calculated based on the iRating of those entered into the sessions and completing their fair share.
Q) What are the license/iRating requirements?
Road D 4.0 class to drive, rookies are allowed to be spotters/crew chiefs.
Q) Is iRating in effect?
No
Q) Is SR in effect?
Yes, each driver has his own incident count and only your own SR is affected by your incident points.
Q) If I am a member of two teams, can I race for both in the same race?
No, once you register for a team for that specific session, you can only race in that session with that team.
Q) Am I allowed to withdraw from the team race, register for another session, and then come back to the team race later?
Yes, if your team is registered and you have registered for the session, you can come and go as you please.
Q) Do I need to be registered for the session before it launches?
No, if your team is registered for the session, then simply go to "Team Sessions" and select the team and session you want to register for. You can do this anytime (P, Q, R).
Q) What is the maximum number of incident points?
There is no max limit for this event.
Heres an FAQ that answers some of the questions I had:
Yeah, we need to figure this out. Maybe pick a new session, and everyone join the GTPlanet team so we can chat? We're all on right now...
I can take over if you're okay to do a 3 hour stint to start. Then someone else can take over from me after 2-3 hoursjust pick the session and i'll join up. I'm having a hard time getting in the one everyone seems to be in. It keeps telling me registration is closed. And i know @Jav doesn't have a mic to chat back. I don't wanna wait to long becauyse i'll be going to bed soon. I don't wanna be late tomorrow. lol
I can take over if you're okay to do a 3 hour stint to start. Then someone else can take over from me after 2-3 hours
Yeah ive been having the same problems trying to join you guys too lol. Once I see your in the practice Keith I'll hop in. If you want to start off for 3 hours then aarror for 3 hours I'll take the next 3 then that puts us at 5 pm for Jav to take over then we can start the cycle agian after Jav. I'll type it all out on a list and post it here. As of now we will just go with the 4 of us and if Jonsey post up or shows we can add him in. Keith I can make you an admin I think let me try it.
I can do whatever. Let's see how things are going during the day and we can work it out from there.Nice Im glad its working. Just got done talking to Jav in a practice room and here is the best I can come up with for now using 4 drivers. With it being the practice race I'm not sure if the fair share thing is on and that goes by laps but I'll go off of time for now and if someone has a lengthy 10 min + repair on their first stint they might have to drive some extra laps in the 2nd stint. Just always get all the repairs done no matter the time its a long race we can make it up. If the fair share thing isn't on we don't have to worry about any of this.
All time are eastern.
8am -11am - Keith
12pm - 2pm - Aaron
3pm - 5pm - Jason
5pm - 8pm - Javier
OK that's the first stint taken care of. Here is where it gets a little tricky lol. Jav has to work Sunday morning so his next stint will be 11pm- 1 am. I was planning on finishing the race so 5am - 8 am for my last stint. We got to figure out the 9pm- 10pm then 1 am stint and the 2am- 5am stint. If someone else wants to finish the race and do the 5am -8 am I can take either the 9pm-10pm-1am or the 2am- 5am. I'll leave this blank for now and you guys, Keith and Aaron let me know what you guys prefer after your first stint. Oh yeah most importantly have fun everyone and good luck starting off Keith!![]()
