Q) What does "fair share" mean?

A fair share is computed as one-quarter (25%) of an equal share of the laps your team completes. If the requirement is a minimum of two drivers and your team completes 200 laps, then the equal share will be 25 laps (equal share = 100 divided by 4 = 25). Note that any fractional laps will be bumped up to the next whole number of laps.

If your team fielded 4 drivers for 200 laps the fair share for each driver would be 13 laps. (200/4/4 rounded up).

Figured out fair share. Basically, 24 Hours /4 (25%)/4 drivers, so basically 1.5 hours. Should be no problem.

True that it's 25% but it goes off of laps not time. To correctly figure it out you would need to figure out how many total laps in the 24 hrs then divide those laps by 4 drivers or how ever many you have. From what I read that it guesstimates in the server how many total laps and that it shows your laps in one of the black boxes. Also 25% of 24 hours is 6 so as of now we are doing 6 hours total each broken down into 2, 3 hour stints.

Someone on the iRacing forums figured it out, if you do 800 laps then you only need to do 34 laps to make it.

It's 25% of an equal share, not just 25%.

Not really sure what you mean by doing just 34 laps from 800. Only way 34 laps would be a equal share of 800 is if you had a bunch of drivers. It's not exactly 25% it's just a equal share of laps. It would only be 25% if you have 4 total drivers. For example if the race is 800 laps total and you have 4 drivers each driver would have to do their equal share which would be 200 laps for each driver. Of course if you have more drivers then it would be less for each driver. Also doesn't matter how you do you laps long as they all get done before end of the race.

Edit: after reading what was posted on the iracing forums a couple of times I do kinda see what your saying now with the 34 laps. Each driver just has to at least do 25% of their share of laps. I guess that's just the minimum laps you actually have to do in order to finish the race. I was thinking the fair share meant we all had to do our fair share of laps so if it was 800 laps for example then that's 200 each for 4 drivers but I guess we have to just 25% of our share of the laps then it's whatever after that any driver can then do however many laps they want. Man why did they have to make this so complicated lol.

For the actual 24 hour race I was thinking of adding the drivers names and nationality to the car along with tidying up the paint and adding a few more red and blue stripes to the white areas.

You're in the 4th split (out of 5) and gridding in 5th position in class.

Edit: The GT class leader got hit up the rear at Turn 3 Lap 1. Some people are so stupid it's unreal. Literally 30secs in to a 24hr race. Joke.

I just wrecked the car going into the bus stop. It's gonna be a pretty lengthy repair. I had the pace to stay up there. I've done that bus stop 100 times in a row clean all throughout practice. Get into the race and choke. Sorry guys I'll try and fight back, but we're gonna be multiple laps down.

I just saw :(

Cars about 10mph slower now down the straights. Sorry guys. Tried to pit again for more repairs and that's the best it's gonna get. I feel like cap about it.

This is why i think endurance racing to this degree is a stupid format for sim racing. The time, effort and organisation involved beforehand can so easily all be for nothing. The potential for it to end in disappointment is just too great.

Don't feel bad, it happens.

Just like real racing, Anything can & probably will happen. It's just the way it is. If ya can't handle the disappointment, then ya endurance racing ain't for you.

Well that's a bummer guys. Jersey don't feel bad it could have happen to any of us. Just the nature of the beast. When i got up a little bit ago and checked the thread and saw the car was down 10 mph I knew it was only a matter of time before the engine blew. Seems on iracing once you get all the damages fixed and your down on top speed its only a matter of time before the engine goes. That's how it was when I raced in a nascar style league on the bigger oval tracks that's what would happen generally. At least its just the practice race have to re group for the real race. One thing we need to see is how they are doing the splits. I think they did it by irating and they average it from whoever is starting the race so that's likely why we were in almost the bottom split. I think Jav has the highest road irating of all of us so maybe we need to get him to start us off next time so we can maybe get in higher split with more clean drivers.

On the bright side, it looks like we can be pretty competitive. I was faster than almost everyone in the infield, gaining around 1 second a lap on them but losing it all on the oval. Sounds like Jersey was running up front before the incident too.

Sorry guys again. I made such a stupid mistake early. Went In a little to hot into the bus stop and the rear end came around on me. The real deal I'm gonna be much more conservative. We got 2 weeks to practice more and be ready. Also it looka like individual driver can't load there own setup after the race has started. We need to come up with something that everyone's gonna be happy with.

Lol the incident was on lap 6. I definitely had enough to get up front and that's what got me into trouble. I knew our car was fast and I could get up front quick and that came back to bite me.

Engine just blew on the front straight for no reason. Rad must have been damaged from the crash or something. Too much damage, we're done.
Sorry boys, its over before it really begun.

This was the whole point of this race, to find our weak points as well as the car's. Now we know that the setup can use a bit more front bias for the race and that the engine can be prone to blowing up so we might want to be more conservative on our downshifts(this one applies for me, heavy engine braking for me)...
We are now better prepared for the real deal and I am more than ever looking forward to that one because I know that THIS IS THE BEST TEAM THERE IS!!!

Didnt realize the roar was today I think these first 24 hour races will be all about getting the car home I cant see many completing 24 hours tbh

Any of you guys up for some practice tonight? Also I remember one of you guys said you needed to upgrade your pc. I got a new mobo and cpu ordered today if any of you guys are interested in my old stuff.

I won't make it on tonight, but I'm down for some practice tomorrow night. I was thinking since we got about 2 weeks I was going to maybe try some laps in the bmw just to see the difference.

Also one night if you guys want I'll host us up a practice session. I figured it would be easier for us all to join and communicate. We can just figure out a good day and time for everyone and maybe do like a 2 hour session with a password so it's only us.

Tomorrow sounds good and as for another night it's really hard to tell for me. My new parts should be in by the end of the week. I'm basically doing a complete rebuild, but I should be able to tear it down and back together in a night. Really excited, my pc is gonna be a real beast when I'm done. Went way over the budget that I set when I started out last year getting into the pc world. Enough of that, I'll see yall tomorrow night.

I know it is a bit late only being a week and a half away to the 24 but, It looks like I may be free if any real life racing/testing that weekend. If anyone is looking for a driver for the 24 in the HPD, Z4, or McLaren I should be available. Of course, I could have to fly and not be available at any point so it may be a bit of a gamble.

I have been running the top split during the High SOF times in the GT3 series at the beginning of this year. And ran the GT3 series last year in both the top and 2nd splits. In 2013, I held a Average finishing position of 3rd place and had an 80% Top 5 percentage. Despite moving up to the top split full time, I was still able to hold an average finish of 8th position while maintaining a 53% Top 5 percentage. I am also a very safe driver and do well at keeping out of walls and other drivers, while running a good pace, easy on tires, and can implement effective fuel saving techniques if necessary.

Please send me a PM or a message her if you have any interest.
