Just to double check, we're using the team "GTPLANET_RACING_A" right? I'm not part of the other team so I can't join sessions with that one.

By the way @Jav, can we change the team names to something a bit nicer? I know the two teams need to have different names so what about:
GTPlanet Racing #024
GTPlanet Racing #025
or
GTPlanet Racing
GTPlanet.net Racing
Or something?
Definitely! I'll take care of that tonight! Good luck in the race guys!

Half an hour in and Adam is leading the race! 13th to 1st! I hope I can hold it together in my stint and hopefully keep us in contention!
Hell yeah!! Kick some butt guys!!

I enjoyed my stint with only a few tiny errors.

Matthew's doing a great job maintaining 1st with half a stint left.

Unfortunately Adam got caught out by a backmarker and we've had to pit for 15 minutes of repairs. We're down in 18th in class now, 7 laps down on the class leader and we've changed our strategy a little so we still pit with an hour to go.

Hopefully we get a few more incidents for the others and we can get back into the top 10.

I just didn't see the guy on the outside, not sure what I was looking at. Not the greatest corner to be poodling along on the outside either, as soon as you turn it in into a fast corner you can't really adjust too much.

But a stupid mistake from me really. I think we'll be fortunate to get a top 10.

So sorry to read that guys, it always is the things that are out of our control that get us on these races. Hopefully we will have better luck on the Spa 24!

Yeah looking forward to Spa. We need to get things sorted soonish for that one :)

Matt's just taken over for the last 45. Currently 15th in class.

We'll get it sorted out and hopefully we can get 3 teams for that one!

Finished 14th in the end, one place down from where we started. Both the teams we were fighting for the lead with in first 2 hours finished behind us in the end, and all 3 of us were miles ahead of the rest of the field.
So a win missed out and a certain podium. At least we finished with car relatively in one piece and only spent roughly 30mins on repairs.

I thought we had a pretty good race in the end, unlucky with the two incidents that cost us pit time really. But otherwise we were both consistent and didn't make lots of mistakes. Just a shame we were in contention for the win but thats endurance racing and why I love its challenge!

Thanks Adam for the great driving and for turning up, your pace was awesome in the first stint, just unlucky with that backmarker. If you hadn't turned up I wouldn't have even raced.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make the Spa 24 Hours but hope you have better luck! 3 cars sounds awesome but you probably want a nice spread of 4 or 5 drivers per car I would have thought? You probably want some Aussies/Europeans spread evenly too to cover the night hours for each timezone?

Thanks again Adam! Can't wait to have a go again!

Thanks Matt, I wouldn't have raced if it wasn't for you either!

I think there were a lot of positives to take away from it. You were really consistent and I think it would have been a really good result if it wasn't for that first incident, so apologies again! If you ever want to enter the official Blancpain team races or any other enduros let me know and I'll be down, as long as I have the track. That goes to anyone. :)👍

By the way is there an option to watch the race replay?

For Spa I would agree 2 cars is a more reasonable target.

With the 24 Hours of Spa starting this Saturday, I think it's about time we started preparing for the event. Anyone who would like to take part, please post in this thread as soon as possible.

I'm down for a couple of stints.

I don't think I'd be prepared for a race tomorrow but I'd like to join you guys for future events I if I can. :)

Good to see you on board. 👍 We'll most likely need a couple more drivers to complete the full 24 hours.

Unfortunately my Saturday plans have changed as I'm going to a friend's barbeque. I've not practiced much having just come off holiday, but if there is a stint going towards the end of the race then I wouldn't mind filling in.

I think we're probably going to have to give this event a miss; I don't fancy driving for 16 hours straight :p

Next big team event is the Petit Le Mans on the 10th of October, which at roughly 10 hours might be a bit easier to prepare for.

I hate that I have the free time to do all of these events, but I just don't have Internet in my apartment because all of the Italian Internet providers keep telling me that have run out of Internet lines to give to new customers in my town. Sounds like a load or crap to me :banghead:

Did you guys run a team? It was a long night i was so glad to get out the car 5 hours to go with it in almost pristine condition we had got up to 5th but had some issues and had to settle for 8th in GT3 2nd split was very competitive :-) Tired now

Shame you guys couldn't enter Spa, I would have been well up for that! I'm up for doing Petit Le Mans!

Is there any appetite for this? It will need some dedication as no driver changes are allowed and we'd still have to make the top 40. Races in the Blancpain Endurance Series are almost every Saturday so its not a small amount of effort!
But personally I'd love to have a crack at this and if I can find a teammate or 2 who will also reliably commit I'd definitely set aside the time myself! I think of it like going to my local track and competing professionally, except for a mere fraction of the cost and time.

I'd love to take part in that, but wouldn't want to let anyone down if I couldn't make a race.

Petit Lemans, If im not mistaken.

Yeah that's looking like the last one of the year. Tony Gardner said in a post on the iracing forums that nurburgring wouldn't be ready for S4. I think now they start S1 in December so might possibly be in that build.

Now that the schedule is out, are there any takers on trying to enter the Blancpain GT World Championship series?

The qualifying rounds are:
26th September Monza
10th October Road Atlanta
24th October Brands Hatch
7th November Zolder
21st November Silverstone
5th December Spa-Francorchamps

The races are held at 9am and 7pm Saturdays, 5pm Sundays (all GMT).

Remember that we cannot miss a round and cannot change (neither add nor drop) drivers, we also can only have a maximum of 4 drivers. So it requires 100% commitment.
Also, you need a C-class license to compete in the qualifying rounds.

If we finish in the top 40 teams, we get automatic entry to the World Championship series next year that runs 6-8 races between April and September:
o Rd #1 - 16 April 2016
o Rd #2 - 14 May 2016
o Rd #3 – 11 June 2016
o Rd #4 - 23 July 2016
o Rd #5 - 20 August 2016
o Rd #6 - 3 September 2016

The deadline to submit a team to iRacing is 23:59 GMT 21 Sept 15.

Just applied to the A team.... The B and C teams are curiously empty :P

I only have a controller, and being tight on funds i won't be getting a wheel for a while (may be getting the g920, can use it for forza as well). I won't be online that much either, but will try making to sessions :)

Hi guys, I'm new to iRacing but I wouldn't mind getting in on some of these enduros. I'm in Aus so may be handy for some of the 24h races.

I know its been awhile since the GT planet team has done any racing but Iracing just came out with the 2016 endurance schedule. The Daytona 24hr is Saturday Jan 23-24 starting at 8 am eastern time so little over 2 weeks away. Just wanted to see what the interest was for people here wanting to race. I've done the 2.4 every year Ive been on iracing and we did the first Daytona 24hr last year so I'd like to race it one way or another.

If anyone here has any interest in racing post up within a few days if possible as 2 weeks is already not a lot of time to prepare. If not much interest within a week or so I was going to try and find someone to race with.
