^ That colour is amazing. 👍

I recently picked up the Otto-models 1/18 Celica ST165, and also the 1/18 Aston Martin Vulcan by Frontiart Avanstyle.

I've been waiting for a decent ST165 for years now. Otto released this one earlier in the year, but it completely flew under the radar. I didn't even know about it until they were sold out (2000 produced), so had to order this one for an inflated price on ebay. Still, I'm impressed by the quality... They got the dimensions of the car perfect, unlike the Topmarques version with it's squashed roofline. I'm loving these otto models. :)

The Vulcan I bought on sale from the Aston Martin design shop in London. When I arrived home and unpacked it, I was kind of lost for words on how amazing this thing looked. The paintwork is amazing... It looks like a green with white pearl under certain lighting conditions, which isn't captured very well in these pictures. For the price, Frontiart Avanstyle is the best I've come across. I'm pretty sure I'll only be buying closed resin from now on because of the detail, and the perfectly scaled body panel gaps. It's made me fall in love with model cars again.

These are the favourites of my collection so far. I just ordered a blue Frontiart Avanstyle Vanquish S because I was so blown away by the Vulcan's quality.

Hi
2masVVr.jpg

Just sharing my nostalgia.
Soviet-made 1:43 models. I'm currently excited by the idea of getting some to my collection.

Lada Niva, made in Saratov in 1983.
The detail is amazing for this scale (and time). And the opening parts... not many modern 1:43 models have them.

UAZ 469, made in Ulyanovsk in the late '80s.

I have two modern (Chinese-made) 469's of this scale, they're quite accurate, but don't have any opening parts. So they're not as cool as this one.

When I was a little kid, I had both of them (my Niva was blue, and the UAZ was turquoise - greener than the one on the video). They served to me as toys, and didn't survive. :(

Now, I want to get them again. Browsing the adverts... They're not cheap nowadays. (And in the '80s, they weren't cheap either, for an average Soviet collector.)

Currently, there are three "Made in USSR" models in my collection, with openable hoods. They're not as awesome as the Niva and UAZ though.
Izh 412, Moskvich 427, Moskvich 412 (traffic police).

My new purchase. A Soviet-designed model of an ambulance car, RAF 22031 Latvija.
On the right. The left one is a Chinese-made fire version I got a long time ago.

And the yellow one is a civilian variant, also made in China.

The modern Chinese models (released in 2010-2012) are way more accurate, but they don't have what this ambulance has...
Opening parts!

And... detachable stretcher inside!

The seller said the model was made in early 2000's, but it's still the Soviet design, and it's been produced like this since 1977 (but until 1987, it had a serial number on the bottom).
The writing on the bottom is still "Made in USSR".

I had the same model in my childhood. Now I have it back. :)
Now, to get the UAZ and the Niva sometime...

The 1/18 Avanstyle Frontiart Vanquish S made it in one piece, surprisingly. That paintwork though... I just want to lick it.

Is it just me or is the carbon fiber weaving thicker on the rear diffuser than it is on the roof?

Yep, I just took a few measurements, and you're correct. The weaving pattern on the roof is about 75% smaller than the pattern on the bumpers and door mirrors. Don't know why they couldn't just use the same print.

The rear rims still don't look right.

That alone would keep me away from getting one.

Besides I think someone will make a 991.2 GT3 RS anyway, I will probably wait for that one instead.

Those headlights seem a little bit off. They bulge a little too much toward the center of the car

Oh I see that it's not perfectly oval. Good eye.

@MSZ I'm curious to know what you see in the rear rim that doesn't exist with the front.

Comparing strictly these two photos, the back wheels are sitting too far into the wheel well.... and too far forward.

Oh you didn't know that AA specifically released this red 991 photo to claimed that they have corrected the rear rim issue? This has been going on for at least a few months now.

In the first prototype, the rear rim looks totally flat, where the 1:1 has a very deep centre cap:

Now look at Spark and GT Spirit:

Ah gotcha. I used to follow AUTOart on Facebook for news feed. I got tired of seeing the posts and comments of Autoart trying to defend themselves on Social media while everyone sought every opportunity to verbally crap on them.

That's comin' off the interest list now. It sold me on the red + silver though!

I won't be getting that Autoart GT3 RS. The rear wheel looks better but not entirely accurate to me. As much as I like the opening bits, I will settle for my Spark version. I wonder if anyone would be brave enough to swap the wheels from the GT Spirit version onto the Autoart?

Still waiting on a 1/18 scale 991.2 GT3 and GT3 RS though.

1:24 Soviet classics by Hachette, coming soon.

I should get the the last two. Or at least the GAZ 69. It'll look great with my 1:24 Isuzu Bighorn by Fujimi... once I assemble it. :D
(Plus I already have a GAZ 21 in that scale...)

Yeeee boy.

MSZ
CK now have both colours of the AA MC12 roadcars for 99 euros. I just bought one too.(of course)

I just ordered from CK yesterday. 🤬

Jokes. I cant live without the MC12. I almost wanted to get myself the black Apollo S after seeing FCaminha's photos, but instead I went and ordered the Minichamps F1 Road car for photos and a 2019 mod.

Good and bad news on this:

The white and the black are up for preorders, the white sporting them generic BBS Y-spoke wheels. 👍👍

But the red one is only available in 1/43. It's the one I'd probably would want to keep. 👎

There's many car-collecting/hobby threads in here. You'll have a great time strutting your stuff. Welcome to the one and only GTPlanet.

Got 16 old cars today, and a Car Culture Skyline yesterday

Now where did I hear that before. :sly:
What sizes do you collect? Just 1:64s or bigger models too?
