Yup, just got home, Mrs Shem had the radio on on her laptop. Was posting in the in the gears thread and go done. No chance to escape.

Oof! Bad luck. People around here are disappearing quicker than the Magnificent Seven. Keeping my head well and truly down now!

This will haunt the "What Grinds your Gears" thread for awhile. :p

I'd like to join the contest if that's possible. I still haven't heard the song (except for this thread) since I knew about the contest. So I'm not cheating. :p

Here's hoping I don't get whammed too soon.

Only the original will get you whammed. You can sing it to your hearts content and you'll still be safe.

Knowing this means I am safe cause the song is in my head and has been for the past week.

Seriously though, at last someone speaks the truth, I always laugh at the fact that mostly Americans think we listen only to some Alps Schlager or something, oh well.
By the way, you're living now in Germany or...?

No, I'm back in the UK. My girlfriend and I have realized that there is the very real possibility of us emigrating to Canada. Plus she is struggling a little with the German language. Germany is second on our list though. Whatever gets us out of this 🤬 country.

While sitting trying to get paperwork in order to buy a new car, Christmas music started up, seemed to be old Christmas standards. I said out loud "Seems to be only old Christmas songs, I think I am safe here.

You're never "safe" when Christmas songs are playing. Besides, last Christmas is kind of old. How old were the songs where you were?

I'm out. :(

Radio - "Here's Wham!". I didn't stand a chance.

Ragin'.

Unlucky.

I am talking old old stuff, like Frank Sinatra/Bing Crosby type stuff. I quickly learned to assume nothing.

Was at the store today and they were playing Christmas music.
But I made it out alive. :sly:

You ever get that feeling you're going to get Whammed two days in a row?

The Brits are going down fast. Any Brits left out there? Do it for us more unlucky souls.

I'm still here and I intend to go nowhere. I beat Wham! last year.

I am secretly playing it actually. Thankfully, as a man who rarely ventures out of his bedroom where I can actually listen to what I want, I have had no hearing of a single Christmas song yet (besides my Geography teacher playing Feed the World once and that's it). I can only expect myself to suffer from an antagonising failure towards the end of the year though :indiff:

Going strong. Have only heard one or two christmas songs so far. TV is in permanent DVD/PS3 mode until after the new year. My radio is only ever on a classical station or rock radio and my internet connection will be installed in a few days assisting with the christmas shopping. Not to mention cutting out the visits to the library.

Possible dangers:
Christmas day, my girlfriend and I are going to a friends house, so I will need to ask for some co operation.
Boxing day Visiting my grandparents. My grandmother will no doubt want to watch Coronation Street or something equally crap.

Other than that, things are looking fairly good.

 I'm in a similar situation, I'm always in my room, or my brother's room on the PS3. ;) I haven't left the property once. Except yesterday when I was off the property and down the 200 meter Shared Driveway (to the letter box) :p. All we have to worry about is TV ads for Christmas music compilations! :scared: :scared:

Sitting at work today... no radio, minding my own business...

Then one worker pushed the button a newly delivered Santa climbing through the chimley toy...

Then it starts the song...

I've listened hard and cannot determine if it's the actual version we dread (playing this game), because it's high pitched and tinny sound...

Wattaya think?

Could be, just in case consider yourself a dead man.

Just had a scare! I was watching telly. Then the ads came on. It started advertising a Christmas Compilation! I put on the TV on mute. And just after it advertised Wham! Close call!

What channel was this? I haven't seen any of those Complication CDs. 'Tis for the Warehouse, I presume?

Whammed. :(

Was at a nearby simulator centre getting some much needed therapy after college. Speaking with the manager about Christmas and whether we'd be having a Christmas playlist made up as well. First song added to the list (and then dedicated to me by the manager - I guess this makes it slightly better!) is Wham.

To be fair, working in the centre for 13 hours on Saturdays with this new playlist it was only a matter of time. I didn't stand a chance.

I had the same problem... Unfortunatly I was not so lucky.

I reached for the controller, aimed it at the television... Too late.

George Michael and his evil crew have got me, and I didn't even make December.
