I'm in shock, I've just qualified 1st with a 1 min 47 at Monza in the Viper GTS-R. I've never come close to that time before. Maybe it's finally clicked, I used the pre setup, setup Monza fast and changed he tyres to soft, is that a good time for someone who's played about 4 hours collectively on different tracks.

So, what do we all think about the "King of the ovals" addition? (its out if you weren't aware)

It's way out of place, but its a fun addon. I think they only added 3 nascar-like tracks, but I could be wrong.

VipFREAK,
Did you get the FF working on your wheel?
I haven't played the game the last couple of days (damn this work.. :irked: )
Hopefully tonight or tomorrow will get back on it.

I haven't tried it yet but you'll be the first to know. :) I might if it does work it will be on the Demo, not the actual game because my puter isn't good enough for it.

anyone know of any stores in New york or NJ, or conneticut that sell GTr? I know i can order it online. but that would require me bugging my parents since i dont have a credit card.

You guys don't have a Fry's over there? (that would suck if not :scared: ) Or what about any electronic stores that sell games like Circuit City? just make sure it's around $24 though. Good Luck

:odd: $25 with a $10 mail-in rebate but then again even with out it you can't go wrong. It used to be $40.

Mine was marked $39.95 and I was prepared to buy it (worth it IMO) but at check out she charges me $25. Cool! Yeah there is a $10 rebate on top of that, mine says I have to send in a "PC racing game" but this is the only PC racing game I have.

 oh ok... I read your reply wrong. You were saying 👎 to GT4. :dopey: duh... :smacks myself over side of the head: That's cool Amps... I saw it in the Fry's ad for $24  and freaked out because I thought it was a miss print so I rushed in that day even though I didn't have time. :D

I wonder why the DFP FF isn't working for you guys, works great for me. Make sure you have the new drivers installed for the wheel, the 1.6's i believe.

The FF is the best part of the game, it's the best use of it I've ever seen.

I have been hesitating getting one cause I'd be pissed if I didn't like it and had to bring it back. In the cockpit view where you see the steering wheel, does it move in sync with the DFP input? Can you make the DFP respond EXACTLY like the HUD wheel? Is there any delay between DFP input and the game's response? Please give me any feedback guys! Thanks

AMPSARUS,
dude, trust us, the DFP works in the game and is amazing!
The steering wheel moves with the wheel yes. You have that option in the game setup options.
There is no delay, assuming your pc is up to snuff.

The DFP works great, so great in fact I think it's one of the best wheel+game combinations ever.

:sick:Sounds kinda expensive... :scared:
It is but I am using the I glasses to watch television, PS2 and even PC (have the video version) but I don't have the TrackIR yet. I don't know if it is worth it??

Configuration of the graphics card: Can someone tell me what vertical syn and FSAA means???
What is it used for??

Full Scene Anti Aliasing helps clean up jaggies you see on polygons at angles.

Vertical Synching prevents a tearing some people see but thats mostly for older videocards. It might make your game look a bit smoother but will most likely bottleneck your performance.

Thanks Gabbicks!!
I have a brand new graphics cards, so I don't need vertical syn... .

No, but use ans high a level of FSAA as your PC can cope with.

I use FSAA setting x4, no vertical syn anymore, 1280x1024x32. All the video options in GTR at Full and I get about 80 - 95 fps.
Free run, depends which the track I'm on, cockpit view => 65 - 90 fps
Free run, bonnet view => 110 - 130 fps
Free run, bumper view => more tha 130 fps at times

Don't know if this is good but after "not using" vertical syn anymore, GTR runs a lot smoother.
Thanks a lot for the help!!! :)

I had no idea this game was out here! I saw it on EB's site today while looking for F1 Challenge. I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow...

BTW, anyone know someplace other than eBay to get F1 2002?

Well, my best bet would be an Electronics Boutique in their Pre-Owned games.

I guarantee you though, you'll only be able to find it used.
I suggest checking a Game Store before Online. That way, if the game is there, and happens to be scratched ( :ouch: ) you can take it back.
