I have a few settings from WWW.GTVAULT.COM Iwant to try them out , only one problem I DO NOT KNOW THE TRANSMISSION TRICK!!! please help

Hi GT40

The ancient and venerable Tranny Trick is a simple way to adjust your gearbox to give optimaly close ratios (note however that this is not always what you want but you can delve more into that at later date ).

I understand how to do the trany trick but I don't get how it works. Does it know what track you are about to race? Surely the same trick wont work for a fast track like mid-field and a tight track like Monaco. I am confused

Hi Deq

All the Tranny Trick does is give you a close ratio box with the gears optimally spaced. The adjustment for the track is what you do afterwards as you alter the Final Drive ratio.

As I said in another post, this isn't always what you want to do but it works pretty well for most cars and saves an awful lot of time on individual gear fettling .
