I love the look of the '57 Fords. I know them from some pictures I've seen from Havana. Watching music videos does pay off, it seems ;)

It's based on the Mk. II Jetta from 1984. Since 1992 they have been produced in Chengdu as CKD kits.
In 2010 it was brought up to date with a new design that follows VWs current style, with Transporter-style headlights.

The Santana is a different car, based on the slightly bigger B2 Passat from 1981 and it is sold as the Shanghai Dàzhòng Santana 3000 (Santana Vista for cabs) in China.
It is very popular in the government and with the police and taxi-drivers.
