Other may scoff at this one - but here's my time :
R1 Lvl 10 Jaguar XJR A/T - 9'01.22

Cheers,

S. Chapman

It's been a while since a time was submitted. It's added. I don't remember but A/T doesn't count as an assist right?

I'm aware nobody really submits times for this any more, but I did a couple of runs tonight in some Class E cars so maybe they could be added :)

Both cars completely standard (LV1).

Smart ForTwo cabrio - 10'19.281
Honda Insight - 10'09.762

Interesting seeing where they place against other class E cars - the smart just ahead of the MGB, and the Insight between the two Morris Cooper times. The Insight's lap was a bit... oversteery. Lift-off oversteer seems pretty dominant in that car. As for the smart, you have to drive it like an old 911 - brake in a completely straight line, turn in smoothly and power all the way out. Anything else and it either spins like a top, or understeers off in a straight line :lol:

Of course the times should be added :) The Smart seems like a very cool car. I hope it will make it to GT5. What other car is challenging to drive in 100 km/h? ;)

LV1 - Alfa Romeo 147 GTA - 8'46"137

Oddly enough 26 seconds slower than the GT4 time - hmmmmmm.

S. Chapman

What class is the Alfa?

Post Your times like [CLASS] ( [LEVEL] [CAR] - [ASSISTS]) [TIME]
example1: Class R (LV10 Mazda 787B - No Assists) 5'32"588
example2: Class C (LV9 Volvo S60 R - Recommended Assists) 9'09"623

A horrible lap time for the PT Cruiser - in both modes :
(Class E)

Chrysler PT Cruiser - Lvl1 - No Assists = 10'23"663
Chrysler PT Cruiser - Lvl10 - No Assists = 9'30"680

The LV10 lap wasn't bad at all. Close to the leader of Class E. :)👍

It honestly felt like the longest lap of the Ring - it drove like a wheely bin full of bricks.

:)
New Times :
Hyundai Tiburon Coupe - Class D
LVL1 = 9.47'811
LVL10 = 9.20'625

Nice to see you trying out some of the less-tried cars, Chapman. I don't have access to my PS2 at the moment but when I do I'm tempted to have a try in some of the off-roaders and minivans :D

Sorry - been busy with GT5P but managed to get some laps done....

1. VW Golf GTi - C-Class Lvl1 = 9.19'426 & Lvl10 = 8.51'967
2. Renault Clio Sport - C-Class Lvl1 = 9.07'095 & Lvl10 = 8.45'439
3. VW Polo - E-Class - Lvl1 = 10.42'121 & Lvl10 = 9.59'918

I'll try and get some more done tommorrow.

Cheers,

S. Chapman

Nice, it's added

There is still only 2 times in Class F ;)

Until now.

Class F (LV1 Subaru Young SS - No Assists) 13'05"310

Kekke, I know the Young is slow but how did you manage a 13'55 in it? I wasn't even going to post my 13'05 in the car because I realised that I was accidentally in 3rd gear right the way from the climb up from Bergwerk through to half way down the back straight! :dunce: I'd got so used to hearing the limiter in 4th that when I heard it in 3rd on the climb I forgot to change up! Was doing 60mph around half the circuit instead of the maximum 70-odd... probably ranks as one of my finer moments :lol:

Just done another time too:

Class D (LV1 Range Rover - No Assists) 9'19"904

Managed a max speed of 140mph and a nice 80mph sideways moment through Adenaur-Forst...

Thats great! And you wrote the laptimes in the right format. That's quiet rare nowadays.

About that lap time i did... it's in the beginning of this thread :P

drunk driving in the Subaru Young SS gave me 13'55.063... but hey, no black flags even though i was drunk, but it was very hard driving it :S i went off the grass on my first try :)

I'm gonna try in a few of the off roaders I think, was quite fun!

And Kekke - I don't even have the excuse of being drunk with my Young lap - just stupidity :sly: Anyone else want to try a lap forgetting to change into top gear? :lol:

E-Class Citroen C3 :
Lvl1 = 10.03'001
Lvl10 = 9.21'687

D-Class VW Toureg
Lvl1 = 9.19'784
Lvl10 = 8.51'227
(A bit faster than the Rover but I did hit 143mph topgear!)

D-Class Mini Cooper S
Lvl1 = 9.14'254
Lvl10 = 8.50'330

D-Class Citroen Saxo VTS '03
Lvl1 = 9.38'895
Lvl10 = 9.11'237

E-Class Daihatsu Copen
Lvl1 = 10.20'550
Lvl10 = 9.39'801

Just had a crack at some more...

Class E (LV1 Nissan Bluebird 1600 SS Coupe - No Assists) 10'03"529
Class D (LV1 Toyota Voltz - No Assists) 9'16"685
Class C (LV1 Honda Civic Type R EK9 - No Assists) 8'53"496
Class C (LV1 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD-455 - No Assists) 9'06"803

The Bluebird was underpowered and understeery, the Voltz high revving but there seemed to be little power when you did rev it high, with decent handling but not too much grip, the Civic felt brilliant driving it after the Voltz with ample grip, great power and good brakes, and the Firebird was interesting, seeing the Civic ghost car disappear into the distance as I battled with wallowy handling and power/lift-off oversteer.

Three more today - (all Level 1 with no assists)
Class D - Mercedes Benz G-Wagon (G500) = 9'20"272
Class D - Range Rover = 9'23"152
Class C - Saab 9-5 Aero = 9'03"741

The G-Wagon was a slight better in the corners than the Rover - the Rover felt like a tank in the tight corners and I had to start braking WAY out - the Saab felt nice but wasn't as nippy as I thought it would be - very quick handling and responsive - if at Lvl10 that thing would FLY.

Cheers - I'll see if I can do a few more tommorrow after work.

I found that too. The Range Rover has a lot of roll oversteer, you need to brake in a perfectly straight line if you don't want to be going into the corners sideways.

I tried the G-Wagen too but didn't post my time for it as I got a black flag on both the laps I attempted. It does handle better though, no doubt somewhat helped by being 200kg lighter than the RR, and also seems geared better.

I'm gonna attempt some more times today I think, watch this space.

Two laps tonight - not the greatest times.
1. C-Class - VW Golf R32 - Lvl1 = 8'48"096
2. B-Class - Jaguar S-Type R -Lvl1 = 8'34"358

The R32 had amazing grip around the bends but the S-Type was very similar to the RR - a massive tank of a vehicle with HUGE weight behind it during braking - if I worked at it - I could shave that time down but not tonight.

Cheers,

S. Chapman
