Happy with 2nd DLC?

Again, it has nothing to do with there being DLC or the cost of it; it has everything to do with the DLC being really crappy and low effort. Two months of waiting and this is the best they could come up with? Really?

Well how is it low effort... Do you know how long it takes to program one premium car... And before you actually say "do you" no i don't know the exact time.... But what i do know is what if they didn't put any DLC out... All i am saying is why complain? At least they are fixing and putting more in for what they wanted 3 more years to put in & to complete i am very satisfied with the game

Another point on this is that development of Forza is farmed out to five other studios, so of course they can crank out DLC more like like sausages. But is this a good thing? When I decided to paint a ride in the Livery Editor, right off the bat, shapes and decals were misbehaving on some car surfaces. Same old MS (lack of) quality control.

PD does it all in house, so they can keep quality to a higher level. It means fewer cars, but heck, we have a thousand cars in this crazy game. Like some have said, we really need new tracks a bit more - and that work in A-Spec Mode, but I'm glad to get anything new and happily buy it.

Well, as you said performance is the thing, and it might have a little pep that the 2007 Cooper doesn't, so we'll see.

I just paid 13 bucks for the last dlc which was 2 (4) tracks, 15 cars, a ton of gear, and paints

now they want 1/3 the price of that for 4 cars

Thats ridiculous absolutely ridiculous

I'm not going to lie, if they were cars I actually wanted, then yeah I would buy it, but this is highway robbery.

The update however is quite gracious.

And if you wanted classic European and American cars you wouldn't be playing GT, you'd be playing Forza, in their view, possibly. So why would they cater to that crowd?

I probably won't get it simply because it doesn't have Rouen. DLC is useless without Rouen.

Everyone keeps saying "4 cars for $4" whether they are for it or against it. It may not be 4 cars. If they all have RMs that's actually 8 cars. At 50 cents a piece, that's a pretty good value in terms of DLC. Even if you're not a fan of the cars, but just the game, 8 premium cars in the garage for $4 is a pretty decent deal if you're a person who actively buys DLC for games you enjoy.

I was expecting there to be more for DLC, but since i like all the cars besides the mini cooper, I'm most likely going to get it regardless. In my opinion theres really no room to be ranting and complaining about how bad this upcoming DLC is because we're getting an awesome, and if not one of the best GT5 updates on top of it.

Funny that, last time I checked the first 'DLC' for GT5 was downloaded in an update and then unlocked. Plus have you any evidence the Forza DLC cars were already on the disc? The ~150Mb downloads for each suggest otherwise.

no. Basically because it's overpriced and despite being about slightly modified versions of existing premium models (+ the scirocco that was already modeled when the game got released), it's still just 4 cars.

Why are people bringing up Forza DLC? You're comparing apples and oranges. Or more accurately that's like comparing a ROLEX watch to a ROLECKS watch. Does Forza have to program physics into each car that are accurate in any way to real life? No, physics wise Forza may as well be Cruisin' USA. All they are doing is making some models and recording some sounds. Meanwhile each new car in GT5 has to be programmed with physics so that it reacts to inputs as the real life car would on any given corner.

The man-hours that go into each GT5 car, I'd be glad to bet every penny I have, is at least 15-20 times more than man-hours that go into any car for Forza.

I used to have this same argument with my CoD fanboy friend. I refuse to buy any of the CoD DLC because I think it's a rip-off, yet he calls me a hypocrite because I bought all the Killzone 2 and 3 DLC maps. But it's again...Rolex and Rolecks. The amount of detail and maticulous work that went into each of those Killzone maps, built on an up to date engine is staggering. The man-hours are incredible. Dedicated work like that OOZES value. While CoD DLC maps are 3/5 old maps that have already been created on that engine, and that engine takes no effort to create the few new maps compared to new engines because most people have no idea all the CoD games, even the brand new MW3 is just built on the QUAKE 3 engine for christ's sake.

I wont get into your comment about FM4, because its obvious you have never played it and have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to the actually gameplay.

Glad you mentioned Shift2 as I love what SMS do and how they handle fans' expectations, with Project CARS being the epitome of their dedication and endeavour. I think my money is much better spent acquiring membership there than buying four cars for four euros. What's the more, if this is all the DLC we're getting this time around, it means we'll have to wait at least for another two months before they give us the classic track pack. And that's quite annoying, given GT5's lack of circuits as compared with its predecessor. And that comes from a real Gran Turismo lover who's never played Forza before if ever the usual fanboys polluting this site come bite me for disagreeing with Kaz's choices ;-)

No but in a balanced forum I would expect less people to be happy with it. I mean what exactly are the modellers at PD doing? They've had a whole year and all they can come up with is four new cars, two of which aren't even new models and one of which evidently was finished quite some time ago?

OR possibly making a track for the NEXT dlc that they'll be releasing, if the modellers are all one team, but I doubt that, they probably have different modellers for tracks and cars.

Dunno about that. It would make you think why are they not making the crap looking cars (standards) already in GT5, into premiums? If they are able to churn out new DLC models every 2 months...

I'll keep this short, because you're making it quite clear you have literally no idea what you're talking about.

Should a Mini Cooper on Sport Mediums record the same lateral grip as a Corvette ZR1 on SM's? Because that's what happens in GT5. We have members here with literally years of real life experience with the intricacies of vehicle dynamics, and they'll tell you the tire model in FM4 is vastly more complex. Perfect? Definitely not, no game is. But until you can prove the laughable notion that FM4 apparently has "5 different physics models shared between all the cars", I recommend visiting this thread, where the discussion of the physics in particular between the two games is being hashed out, or maybe learning a thing or two.

At the very least, you'll not be calling anybody "braindead" simply for not sharing the same opinion as you, as ill-informed as it is.

For anyone who claims the physics in Forza 4 aren't worth a light, really don't know what they are talking about. For example, it's incredible how true to life cars' acceleration is going through the gears and how accurate 0-60 times are.
Regrettably, in GT5 you are not able to have a standing start. The best you can do is drive up to the start line in Indy or Daytona, stop the car and accelerate. Some accelerations are definately exaggerated (like a Lexus IS F having a better first split time on Daytona vs an 8C Competizione)
I love GT5 but to claim Forza 4 doesn't have accurate dynamics or that they just churn out crap looking cars is a load of nonsense.
