Has PD ever seen a real rally race?

A bit off topic, but I was stuck with terrestrial coverage until 2011. Up to then, it was F1 (boring), BTCC (my religion), and maybe some NHRA if you were very lucky. With a cheap Sky box, I get the worst run channel in history, Motors TV, but it's pretty much 24/7 motorsport. Eurosport are getting better each year, I think FIA World Rallycross is heading for a live deal next year, and they of course have WTCC, WEC, BSB, SBK, Porsche Supercup, AutoGP, ERC. It may not be on the BBC or ITV, but there is a ton of it hiding in the sports channels.

Oh, so wording it as 'Sorry but you're wrong there' or 'that's not correct' is out of your grasp? I still stand by my comment, terrestrial coverage is virtually non existent. That is the implication from my original post.
Odd as you don't mention talking about terrestrial tv only in your posts at all, in fact you specifically mention cable.

That you are wanting to focus on one line rather than the fact (and it is) that the range, size of content and variety of motorsport has never been greater on UK tv.

As such it is nonsense to claim the opposite, you may wish to feel offense at the term , that is not in my control, you could get offended by any of the alternates. Just as you came across as rude to another member for your drifting comments.

I'm just waiting for the course maker, i'm sure there's going to be proper rally events once that rolls around. I'm hoping for new features like multiple types of terrain in one track (like the eiger course). GT5 used the course maker to generate point to point stages so i expect GT6 to do the same.

You guys are kinda jumping the gun here.

Lastly the dirt driving in GT6 to me is phenomenal, especially with FR cars. Feels WAY better than a game like Dirt 3.

Who is jumping the gun? Is the game not out right now, have people not had a few weeks to play it and some even more due to their region? I'm confused because the game is out and the physics based around off road is the same as it has been for a while and thus it's a relevant issue to bring up after such a long duration of time.

More importantly it doesn't change the fact that the representation of Rally hasn't been correct as far as the racing goes for a long time. Having multiple rally cars on a track at once is not rally racing nor what the WRC cars actually do in those events. Same goes for the Hill climb cars.

At what point did I mention I was talking solely about sat/cable? It isn't my fault thst just because I mentioned cable tv that you've presumed to think that is what I was talking about. As for focusing on one line, yes I am as it's the one line in which you are telling me I am talking nonsense about.

Nor is it a fact there is more motorsport broadcast on British tv now than there ever was. If you're included sat/cable, then yes, there is more available. But, if like I was talking about, you are refering to (what most class as) terrestrial tv, i.e. BBC, ITV, CH4, CH5, then you are 100% wrong as hsv010 attests to that in an above post!

Where on non-sat/cable tv can you turn the tv on to watch a round of rally cross, NASCAR, V8 Supercars, moto cross, full rally coverage (ice, tarmac or dirt), truck racing..... Would you like me to go on? All these things, I was able to watch every weekend on tv in the 80's and early 90's, so please, don't try and make an idiot of me. For all you know, I may well have been walking this earth alot longer than you!

I'm leaving this entire forum, for the same reasons I don't usually post on any forum. There's far too many snot nosed oiks on here who think they are Gods gift to all things motorsport and know more than everybody else, moderators included. The crazy comments about Ferrari making a rally car proves my point (a car that was made before most users on here were even born)!

It's not that there's no motorsport being broadcast, it's just motorsport is not and never will be mainstream enough to get picked up as a whole by terrestrial channels. It's a bit sad that it'll never get broadcast to a wider audience, but it's nice in a way if it stays in a place where only the hardcore fans can find it. I think if it ever went mainstream it would be dumbed down a little too much for our liking.

You were talking about TV in general in the UK, by mentioning Cable that pretty much opens it up to all forms of viewing.

If that's the kind of reaction we can expect from you then to be honest the site is not really at a great loss (oh and this one poster was born well before the car in question was mentioned).

Odd also for one who is quite clearly rather sensitive that you have launched into a nice tirade about members, rather ironic particularly given your downright rude and condesending posts around the site.

you're jumping the gun be cause the track creator hasn't been released yet which permitted GT5's rally events.

and obviously you didn't play the GT5 events which had fairly proper rally events with stages and one minute start spacing.

They probably tossed in the current rally events to just have something till the track editor rolls around.
