Just a question... Have you ever seen a cop radar at night? This is more for people in the US and even better if in the Bay Area of Kalifornya. Thanks

All the time!!! When I am not spending my free time with GT5p I am doing stuff for my other hobby, Police counter measures. Here is a video of my radar detector (Valentine One) reacting to 2 police radar traps at night

\/ Be warned the language used from my reaction isn't work safe, sorry \/

Are you kidding?? I've seen them radaring as late as 3am in Denver.

Never - EVER - have I seen a cop running radar in Atlanta. The entire time I've been here.

Recently was my first since the start of my what... 12yr. driving career. Few of my friends haven't seen one at night too.

I think this one needed his quota THAT BAD.

Huh? Cops do work 24/7. Why would they not be looking for speeders at night? :odd:...

Cops in Michigan radar at all hours but do it more frequently during the day. The traffic is very light around when it's late and cops are more concerned about drunk drivers then anything.

I don't think police prefer to make traffic stops at night, unless they absolutely must pull over a wayward or dangerous driver. There's more chances of getting hit by other motorists, not being able to see all their surroundings when dealing with criminal activity, et cetera.

I have received tickets at night, and seen occasional speed traps at night; although mostly I have seen speed traps in rural areas. I've experienced radar from police cars moving the opposite direction in suburban/urbanized areas.

i can disagree there. 316 and I85 north of mall of georgia.

I said Atlanta, not bumble****. Inside the perimeter, they don't have enough cops to do it. Occasionally I'll see some joke department running radar on 285 at Peachtree Industrial 'cause it's the one part of 285 that runs through whatever stupid suburb it is, and occasionally ATL PD will be running radar in construction zones on the connector, but that's it. Free and clear. Yesterday I was passed by an S63 AMG doing 100+mph on 85... ATL is open season!

Every weekend. Every. Single. Weekend. I "commute" to RI from NY most weekends visiting my girlfriend at Brown. Sunday night, when I head back, sometimes leaving as late as 11PM, I am guaranteed to see at least 3 people get pulled over in the dark. That's up & down I95, either direction, any mile marker. I've had plenty of cops turn on their lights just as I've gone past them, only to see them race after someone else.

So, yes, I've seen cops use radar at night.

A lot.
