Help! Problem with rFactor

Hiya
Just installed "rFactor Special Edition 2008" but when I click "load track" to start a race the game just closes and leaves me staring at my desktop. No error messages come up.
What do I do?

I'll ask some of the basic questions,

Do you have:
The latest hardware drivers installed?
The latest OS updates installed (directX updates)?
The latest rFactor patches installed?

I would look at graphics or audio drivers as your offender. Also, what OS are you running? Vista? If so, try to launch the game in an XP compatible mode.

Just some general trouble shooting ideas. Good luck.

im running XP with everything downloaded and installed from the windows update website

I think its the 1255 patch, is that the latest?
I checked that I am running latest hardware drivers with Driver Genius and it says I am

what are your pc specs? CPU, ram, graphics card,

Its nothing to do with specs as I have run rFactor before just fine (a copy that I borrowed from a friend)
The one I borrowed was the normal rFactor, whereas the one thats not working is rFactor Special edition 2008

I JUST REINSTALLED IT AND ITS WORKIN A-OK NOW :s

Hey there again Aldo. One other thing. I also got the Special Edition 2008. Do you have the problem that every track regardless of car or mod is run at night? I do...

ummm
no, its all in the daytime for me
do all of the cars and tracks have the correct textures/look OK
if they don't it might mean you need to update your graphics card driver or something
Im not to sure on these kind of things though

I have since heard that it is the Singapore track which is making the problem for all and that I should get skytextures to help the problem.
