Does Cold War ring a bell?

I guess he hasn't ever watched the news either.

*Facepalm*

I am worried about how our generation may turn out? No wars since WW2? Does Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, or the Iraq/Afghanistan War ring a bell?

Good lord people.

On a technicality, Kingland is actually right.

US Formal Declaration of War

But in reality, we've had plenty of wars after WWII. Technically, the US hasn't declared war after WWII, but actually, we've been in many wars after it.

THREAD, Y U DIE?

What went on today at school? Well, somehow in art I twisted the tendon in my arm. I couldn't move it for ages. Once I got home the pain eased away, but now it's come back again.

Last week a girl came out lesbian. She was already being bullied before that, I don't bully her because I'm not that sort of person, but she never really helps herself anyway... she always disrespects the students and teachers, throws things at them, and throws tantrums like a 5 year old and storms off crying. She then likes to boast about this to anyone who will listen to her. Apparently embarrassing yourself and ruining your own school-life is such an awesome thing to do that she has to tell everyone about it. Then when she came out, she said two girls that she liked. The two girls with the most flourecent orange faces, the most disgusting dried, damaged, serverely dyed within every inch of it's life hair, and not very attractive faces either. Now everyone bullies her because they're all homophobes and can't take change.

Clearly, nothing interesting happened last week for most people

Finished all my coursework for the year now, both history and physics. Just exams left :nervous: Though I did finish my personal statement today, and I'm practically ready to apply to university, which is thrilling and worrying at the same time. Probably will need AAA-AAB, which should be interesting to get in my subjects to say the least.

I passed my first maths test of the year. :dopey: Though I'm top set, so my tests consist of all A* questions, and they're almost impossible.

I had more moments where I wanted to face palm in my social studies class but I can't remember why... But we pretty much didn't do anything today. Sat there for 45 minutes in Geometry because I finished everything in 15 minutes. My sub was awesome. :P

I haven't been in here for a while...

I've got a super fun week this week anyway. Yesterday I finished a spoken language essay in English, today I had a Physics mock exam, tomorrow I've got a Spanish controlled writing assessment, on Thursday a design sheet counting towards my GCSE is due, and on Friday I've got Chemistry and Biology mock exams.

Now, 1 or even 2 tests don't stress me, but having one or even two majorly important things in a single day all week long can be pretty draining...

94% on my math test today. Also named Athlete of the Month at my school.

I see that and raise you a 68% on my math test. :dunce:

It was like I came in for class and forgot half the stuff; I blame all the extremely similar, but yet different terms we had to remember and their respective operations. And I probably should've asked for help during class, but still. My grade's at a respectable 85%, and hopefully that'll raise to a high B by the end of the semester after a couple more weeks of steady homework grades and such.

Rough day today. Lost my phone, bad with teachers etc. Only good thing was seeing the girl I like wearing nice revealing clothes lol. She's perfect for me. Shes a Ford maniac (built a 67 Mustang 351w race car), likes metal (big Iron Maiden fan like myself, wears shirts all the time), has a Ps3, likes electronics etc. Everything interest wise the same. Everyyhing I want, and shes a blonde (have a soft spot for 'em). I talk to her buuuut I chicken out even asking for her number. I told her I like her too, she was like "wooorrdd". I even think he name is pretty, and shes fiesty...has a "I don't take 🤬 from no one" attitude...and I love that about her. Only issue is shes close to another guy....enough they "did stuff" (won't say) but ya. I'd forgive her. Shes why I attend everyday anymore...why I enjoy school. But why am I a chicken when its a perfect match..

Deathly scared of rejection, thats why. I'm very insecure about my body's appearance (I know, I sound like a girl :/), I don't think women see me as attractive. So when I get set on someone, I don't wanna get hurt real bad if I'm head over heals for said girl if the say no...let alone say it snobish, ignore me or get a big fat ewww like before :/

But again rough day at school, and she cheered me up a bit.

Know exactly how you feel about this. :(

Anyway.
I've nothing good really to contribute but whatever. I've been feeling really ill the last few days; but that could be down to the Spanish speaking exam i have coming up on Thursday. My only good thing for tomorrow is that I have maths in my 'Set 5' ("worse in school" set number way) class with the total of 9 people in it; all of us getting a grade A/A* last year, so now we are doing an additional maths course that bridges the gap between GCSE and A-Level maths. So the lesson only usually last 30 minutes the the last 30 talking and messing around
:)

The last two days have been all focused on Basketball tryouts for me. I have to beat at least 6 people to at least get a spot for the JV team. Tomorrow is the last day of tryouts and I think I will not make it for a few mistakes I did. If I don't make it then "oh well" I can just work on my game and get ready for next year.

Also, I have been talking to this girl that keeps telling me she wants a gay best friend to go shopping with. I told she is crazy and told her to "drag your boyfriend with you, for the lol's." Then she goes on talking about the movie Magic Mike and people that played in it. I always have to stop her in mid sentence or just ignore her and pretend to listen to hopefully waste time.

Today in Maths we all got a lecture on how we're not concentrating or doing enough. Before the mock exam we had a few weeks ago, everyone was concentrating, doing their work, wanting to achieve their targets. But after the mock exam, my friend was the only person to get a B, whilst everyone else got a C or a D, so she moved up a set (I'm in 3rd set out of 6, 1st being the best, 6th being the worst, so I guess I have average Maths knowledge lol), and a guy from 2nd set moved down into ours. Now, this happened last year too, as this year I have exatcly the same class as last year. My friend moved up, the guy moved down. The guy is in my form, and he's one of the popular ones. He just sings to himself all the time, or just says random stuff. Don't get me wrong, most of the stuff he says is pretty hilarious, and it's funny to watch him annoy the teacher, but now everyone is distracted and just wants to listen to him, including me, although I do have pretty bad concentration and it doesn't take a lot to distract m- SQUIRREL.

So, yeah. We're all slacking in Maths, just because of this guy. I can't really explain what he's like. He wears black skinny jeans, and keeps getting caught with them, as jeans aren't part of our school uniform, and he wears one of those backpacks that's all 'indie' and stuff, that's the popular way to dress in our school, and he just comes out with such weird and random stuff in lesson. He often says stuff in an African accent, and when someone does something wrong or misbehaves, he says in his accent, "Why are you such a rebel?" and... the accent just makes things even more funnier. Then he starts singing this and this (linked due to sexual references) during class.

Got my total mark for my English coursework back, I got a very strong C so that's 40% of my total Language mark in the bag. Just need to do well on my exam and some bit of drama we do at some point :D

Also Katie, you've already done your mocks? Ours are for the next two weeks (starting next Monday), I thought schools were more in sync than this

Got an assignment where we have to write our own eulogy. I have no idea what that has to do with anything we're learning.

Well, one. We've done the calculator mock. Some time in January I think we're doing the non-calculator mock. There was a Science mock last year too, but I missed that because I was in BTEC at the time.

Also non-school uniform tomorrow. This is the first one since I've been there, and I came up to high school nearly 4 years ago. In fact, they were banned. But now some prefect in my year has managed to bribe the senior staff into letting us have one, in aid of charity of course.

No school on Friday too, as its a 'Staff Development Day'. Basically, a chance for them to do their Christmas shopping.

I see that and raise you a 68% on my math test. :dunce:
.

To be honest, my calculator is carrying my entire grade. I had a 75% at midterms, and now a 86%. I screwed up the first two tests. The reason being is that i make an insane amount of stupid mistakes, so I enter everything into my calculator and get the answer. Not to brag, but I am pretty damn good at math. I often participate in math contests and yield good results. Its just stupid mistakes that lower my mark.

Get yourself one of these: Casio FX 115 ES Plus.

Watch out for those types of girls. They tend to cause lots of problems. I guarantee you that you will end up being the small spoon. That "I don't take crap from anyone" attitude might slap you right across your face. Sure she shares a lot of interests and looks good, but with those come consequences, such as being high maintenance.

Having a partner whos a complete opposite person works amazingly well. My GF and I make up for eachother's weaknesses, and been together for almost 1 year.

If a girl says eww, gets snobbish or ignores you, thank her for saying no. Those girls are the typical girls who end up screwing up their life. You haven't done anything wrong by asking them out. Simply put, they are 🤬

Your physical appearance should not be hindering you, man. I'm not that fit looking. I'm muscular as hell, but with a layer of fat overtop. I'm not ugly, but I'm also no model. The girl should like you for who you are, not for who you become for her. If you get rejected, so what? You tried, she didn't like you. Its better than her not rejecting and then breaking up after finding out that she was never really into you. Ask her out. If she rejects you, its ok, you just move on. There's 7 billion people in the world man, there's gotta be at least more than one nice chick.

On the other hand, if she accepts, I'll be proud of you.

Don't wait. The later you do this, the longer she has to find a guy she likes/moves on. Go and get her tommorow!

I'm not at that point in school where calculators are allowed on tests. :ouch:
But thanks.

What backwoods school doesn't allow 15 year olds to use calculators :dunce:, I was 11 in 7th grade at one point and they let me use them :sly:. Also, Casio's are utter ****, if you want a calculator, get yourself a Texas TI-30XS MultiView

I wasn't allowed use calculators in Maths until I was 14. It's so that you don't rely on them and can do general math in your head. Like 7 x 20 = 140 or 17 x 5 = 85.

Entered in the National Middle School History Bee today (8th grader). Did some of the practice tests online and I must say, I hope I have a shot to go to Nationals. Out of 100 questions I think the average eighth grader wouldn't know, I got 91 of them correct.

In order to get to nationals, you first have to take an online test of 70 questions: 60 multiple choice, 10 short answer. The multiple choice questions will be counted, while the short answers will be used in the event of a tie. The top 120 students in each of the thirty five regions across the nation (I am in the entire state of Illinois) advance to regionals, while the sole champion of that gets an all expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. The grand prize winner receives a $50,000 scholarship.

Anyway, I've been speaking with a freshman girl lately, and I must say, I think I have a shot with her (our school is really tiny, so the freshmen girls often go a grade or two lower). She seems interested in what I talk about and laughs at all my jokes, even if I think they suck. She smiles and waves at me in the hallway and wants to hang with me for my upcoming birthday on Sunday. I can't wait!

Just wait. Highschool will rip you to shreds depending on how big your community is. Don't hook up with one of your friends ex's. Feels bad.... It's like every girl has been with someone. Here lol.

She's not an ex of any of my friends. And actually, pretty much all of the high school guys, from Freshman to Senior, know me and like me, since I am actually pretty popular at my school.

My community has about 1,100 people and the Junior High and High School combined have about 180 kids. So yeah, I don't think I'll have a problem. =P

How did I never hear about this? I've been in love with history since elementary school, so much so that I'm working towards a minor now in American History (already knowing a fair amount of what the professors are teaching me), I'd of loved to of at least try it out 5 years ago
