What high school doesn't nowadays?

I have to wear mines in order to get lunch, check out a book, and get into school without hassle.
My School doesn't but I guess that because in Australian Schools you wear school uniforms.

My school doesn't. Apart from exams and like you said, to check out books

My school doesn't have uniforms either. Of course you can't wear anything incriminating or exposes too much skin

We are issued ID cards (Well, they technically are), but I don't need it to actually get into school. And to buy stuff at the cafeteria (I rarely do, and always bring my own lunch), all I need is enough money. They take debit. They are needed to check out a book though. Sometimes. I think there's a point where you don't need to. Not sure exactly. But to get in, I just have to walk in while the doors are unlocked. I think the school opens at 7 am. That's when I wake up. If I get there early, it's usually around 8.

Mine doesn't. I'm not sure how many Canadian schools do. Is this true about all Australian schools? I haven't heard about any incidents involving dress at my school. I guess the unwritten rules are to not reveal something that's too revealing (And bring a change of clothes for PE, if you take it) and not wear anything too offensive. I've got that covered.

They take debit.
oh for crying out loud.gif

Why can't my school do that? I would be set for life if they did that.

Majority of the teachers and certainly the principals (we have 3) will get on anybody that doesn't have an ID on here. I'm not the troublemaker, but it's a bit of an annoyance to me. It was only about a year ago when they started issuing the ID cards; back in 2012-2013, they didn't have the forced ID cards. I sort of wished that it was back to those times.

At the least, I think it wouldn't be so bad if it worked like where I go.

Also, I forgot my phone today on my first day back. When I came home, it was still on the shelf, but with a piece of paper saying "404-Owner Not Found". I wrote that I liked it (Like on Facebook, or here) on the paper.

The school I'm in, we have to wear uniforms. (Just t-shirts with a small school logo. We can wear anything else with it.)

Anyways, I think the spring break was too long for some staff, because everything is all wonky when we came back. Yesterday the bells didn't work at all, and today they're very low pitched and 5 minutes off for some reason.
Also, they managed to not know that the flags they raised were upside down until lunchtime, which must've been embarrassing.

Long post about my day in the school's TV studio.

I started working on the school's morning announcements in our TV studio a few weeks ago. I forget if I told you guys previously. It's a modest studio, but we do have a 4K monitor in there with some relatively new equipment.

Anyway, today was a little hectic. We have three cameras set up: Cam 1 is on the left side, for the host on the right.
Cam 2 is the main camera in the middle, which focuses on both hosts.
Cam 3 is on the right side, for the host on the left.

We have our floor manager on Camera 2 with a headset to communicate with the booth. I usually operate camera 1 and 3, since everybody else helps out in the booth.

Usually, we have two hosts to read the announcements and words of wisdom (Inspirational quotes with the background to them and how they can be applied in modern times). In the past, before I worked with the crew, there would be three hosts, with the third host only reading the words of wisdom. Today, we finally had the extra person.

Every day before we go live, we check the position of the cameras and adjust them accordingly. If the shot is too tight, we zoom out. If the shot is too loose, we zoom in. Camera 2 never really needs to be fixed since the hosts are always in the middle and don't move very far. Cameras 1 and 3 always have to be adjusted since the edge of the other host might be in the shot. Our cameras have a normal resolution, but thankfully, we broadcast in a slightly more narrow square window. This allows us to cheat a little bit, so the other hosts's face appears on the edge of the screen on the monitors in our cameras, but it's never seen outside of the studio.

I get a little anxious each morning, because I'm always worried something might go wrong, so you can imagine how tense I get when I have to run between cameras to adjust them while we're live. I had to fix camera 1 because there wasn't enough headroom (space between top of the head and top of the screen). Then there was too much headroom. Then the shot was too loose. Then it was too tight! Argh!

Camera 3 wasn't having any problems, but I needed to focus it onto the third host before a pre-recorded PSA ended. I had 90 seconds, but I have this problem where I try to make everything perfect. In the end, the broadcast went well, but I really wish we could have an extra camera guy, so I don't have to do everything. Plus, I want to be in the booth, just to see the other side of TV production.

Remember what I said about debit? Today I heard an announcement saying the machine wasn't working, so they could only take cash. I wasn't gonna buy anything though.

I need you guys' advice:
I have a chromebook and a laptop. Sometimes I bring the laptop to school with me. Since I'll be going to college soon, I will be taking something to my classes more often. Should I replace the chromebook with a fire tablet? I've been looking into it recently.

Since the chromebook requires an internet connection to edit files, I wouldn't use it if there was a chance I might not have a connection.

Today we had the national guard come in. The usually hang out by the lunch room and thats where I found them today. They brought some equipment to do pull ups today. A bunch of kids were doing them, I actually wanted to give it a go, so once my turn finally came around, I noticed a problem. I couldn't actually reach the bar, it also couldn't be lowered (or they just didn't want to lower it). A friend had to lift me up so I could actually do it (not that I did too many lol). Also I finally got all my scholarship stuff done, really looking forward to starting college!

Don't let the tall national guard make fun of your shortness.

I would look into a Windows laptop. Windows is just more versatile. If you're in a budget, look at HP's Stream laptops. But if you're going to use it a lot, I would look into getting an ultrabook.

I have a windows laptop already, I will use that as my dorm room "Desktop." I just want something to take around with me.

I didn't mind the challenge lol, and it didn't seem like they were making fun of me. I think they just wanted it to be a challenge, and I just needed a bit of help.

I'm actually Physically incapable of doing Chin Ups and Push Ups. I wanted to change that by doing Gym in Years 9 and 10 for chosen sport but they don't do chosen sport pass Year 10. So I'm stuck as a human mushmellow.

I had to make pizza for a food tech (cooking class) assignment on wednesday. I started making the base at the start of lunch then in period 5 i had to wait for it to rise. In period 6, I put the toppings on and put the pizza in the oven for 20 mins. When I got it in the oven, I asked if it was a bad time to say that it was my first time making pizza:dopey: (I used a normal oven, not a pizza oven) and got it out at 3:06. I used 2 and a half cups of flour so it kinda looked like a cake. When I went to find my teacher to give her a slice to eat and she didn't want it :( after she had eaten small parts of everyone elses creations. Everyone in my class had to do something different to everyone else, so I did Pizza. Next time my teacher gives me an assignment that involves cooking, I will tell her to try a little bit of it or it will be a waste of my time.

My last day of school is on Thursday next week, but I have to go to the tooth docter so I can't go to the last tafe day for this term. Cross country is on next wednesday and because of one of the subjects that I chose to do in Yr 11, I have to either run or help run the event.

Well on Wednesday I flunked my Math quiz, then yesterday my friend got in school suspension for something at gym when a girl dared him to throw a dodge ball at her face and she said he wouldn't do it, so he did it but she told her mom and then lucky ol me doing announcements in the morning sees her mom but doesn't know it is her till I got to the bathroom at 2nd block and I see him with his books. I ask him Where are you going? He says office, I ask him What you do? He says can't tell you. Then I find out once I'm going to lunch that he got in school suspension! Then my other friend said once he came back to class to get his books he said he's not getting dinner tonight! (We're from a Pakistani decent) We were dying from laughter  Then once school ended some idiot skinny kid and one of my idiotic held back 7th grade friend got in a fight! But they were so light Mr. Sikora (awesome Science teacher) PICKED THEM BOTH UP! and I'm pretty sure they both got suspended lmao. So that was my week in a summary. (I left some parts out because my friend asked me to not tell everything)
