Not counting D.C., there's actually 52 states, just 50 on the mainland. Alaska and Hawaii are the other two.

Wrong, there are 48 mainland and Hawaii and Alaska make 50. They are considering adding Puerto Rico as a state also.

It's the one at the bottom of the world with all the penguins and polar bears, right? :dopey:

My friend is trying to argue (if this is possible) that there are 51 states in America  He's saying that D.C is in fact a state and is using the map of the votes as proof where it says 50 of 51 states have voted, however he has failed to noticed the asterisk that said 'including capital district Washington D.C'
I've show him every source possible, I even explained how D.C means District of Columbia but his argument is "All Americans say it's a state so it is" :banghead:
Actually that's a question, do all Americans refer to Washington D.C as a state? And I am aware of Washington state.

50 States officially in the United States; however, Washington D.C. does get an electoral vote in the presidential election. I don't consider D.C. a state and I'm an American. Technically Washington D.C. is part of 2 states, Virginia and Maryland.

I've got a Maths exam tomorrow that I'm really not looking forward to. I've been doing a decent amount of revision/studying, I even started getting too involved in the workbook and when my mum told me to take a break I was quite disappointed.

But on the plus side, Life Skills is after the exam, so that'll cheer me up!

Oh, and does anyone know of a terrible TV show I can watch now? Preferably one I can tear to pieces? I need to write some notes down for a review in English. :p

Being in school today was a bad decision since it was really hostile. People arguing about the Election. I told everyone to calm down but some people got carried away. It got worse when it started snowing and some of the kids were all excited about it.

Overall today was a weird day. I found out things I rather not know about and I have C in Chemistry by 1 point.

MTV in America. Just take your pick on which show.

Eastenders/Corrie? :D

 My mum suggested that. I honestly cannot bear soaps...

I would, but I don't get MTV in my room. We do downstairs, but... I don't want to have to put everyone downstairs through the pain too. :dopey:

I think I'm going to have to try and force myself through ITV2's Girlfri3nds.

Oh no, my girlfriend's sister somehow likes that show. I can't bear watching it.

The Only Way Is Essex... actually no I don't want you to go suicidal XD Shows the quality of my year when half the people in it watch it :grumpy: Tbh a lot of them could star in it pretty convincingly.

Well for this semester I go to a vocational school, so I am learning Auto Tech. My friend has went there for two years now, so this week we have been working on a transmission. We finally got the new one back in three days. Tomorrow we will be working on brakes again.

No. The US conducts a survey every 10 years, similar to a population census, to see if they have enough people voting yes to become a state of the US and as of current, it's not looking likely any time soon.

On another note, I got spat on by some 7th grader (for no reason, I have several witnesses) which contained a birds bone, a luegie, gum wrapper, a sucker and stick and paper. Right before, he screamed EFFFF YOU (Never met this kid in my life. No, hes not mental) I got in his face immediately after and EXPLODED. Had all I could do to not beat the living snot out of him. He is sooooo lucky I didn't, because I was literally on the edge. I never provoked him in any way.

You see, in my school, they will automatically suspend you for three days and may put you in a police cruiser (and on trial if it is bad enough) if you fight someone. Even if you are retaliating after the first punch, no matter the reason, you still face the same consequences.

At least we all get along, since the town is so small we've known each other since preschool.

Got my unofficial Midterm marks:

93 Architectural Design
94 Computer Engineering
84 Math - University (60% of the grade is failing... our teacher is pretty bad..)
Chemistry teacher is too lazy to give mark updates, so I'm guessing a 92 ish for that.

This is the policy at my school. Pretty much, the principle calls the cops and presses charges against each person involved in the fight.

We would both get ISS but thats about it. I was forgiving enough not to retaliate, but I screamed loud enough the entire bus shut up, turned around and stared......

Wanna be careful. I got lucky on all of my fights...

I've yelled at others more than enough during classes. I never get in trouble though. I think it's because of me being sort of a special case.

^Not really.

Even if this kid has been bullying you for years and decides to take it up a notch one day and you've had enough and retaliate, you will still face the same charges as him.

That's utter bull, thank god assault is allowed in my school if provoked enough, has got me out of situations that would get me done in your school. Along those lines, what really annoys me are kids getting a bit too big for their boots and when I retaliate they get brown trousers, suppose being tall and broad shouldered helps with that.

Had the Maths exam today. I found it surprisingly easy, although that leads me to think I've done all the questions wrong. I had Life Skills again today, and this time everyone had to help out and remove the overgrown grass and stuff. We only have four orange-faced girls in our class, which is surprising. Two of them were sweeping up the paths, well, they were supposed to be. Instead they were singing along to the radio we had on, so it looked more like they were in some kind of musical. The other two were scooping out the disgusting contents of the pond, and it stank really bad .

My friend was at it again, viciously swinging at the overgrown grass and terrifying us all. Then as I was taking my pile of grass and weeds to the compost pile, he ran over to me, took all the grass off of my pitch-fork, and ran away with it! He continued to steal numerous peoples' grass and run away with it to the compost pile. Even when I tried sneaking over to the compost pile, he'd see me and start running over, so then I'd have to run to the pile. It was quite scary seeing him running at me with a pitch-fork.

So one's not allowed to defend themselves?

Not at all. Today, we had 2 African American students jump a white student who proceeded to defend himself by pretty much beating up both African Americans. All 3 got suspended for at least a week, and the cops showed up at the high school.
