Ok. I broke out again this time reaching 2.147B.
I paised it and i quit, as I wanted to see to mileage.

It went down by about 700,000.
Also, the total mileage in the game status screen says less too.
Does anybody know why?
I think it's because the odometer rolled over a lot and settled on 700,000, mere speculation though.

Lol, listen carefully:

O-da-miter

Odometer

It measures total miles

Trip Odometer measures miles, as its name suggests, during a trip (or single race in GT3's case)
You're welcome, in advance :)

Are you positive that mileometer isn't the correct english term? Anyway, I've got 1500 on my 094/H, 826 on my 094/S, and 750 on my Mini.

Yeah - Thanks

I know this is cheating but 64538776.1km in the escudo after doing the 1 billion mph and crash cheat outside of seattle. I didn't do it intentionally for the mileage score, that was a somewhat unwanted byproduct.

Tachometer is the right word I think. Mileometer is just the friendly slang way of saying it. So no, it wouldn't be in the dictionary.

Actually a tachometer is the Rev counter. According to Oxford English Dictionary, TACHOMETER :- n. An instrument that measures the working speed of on engine.

Odometer isn't in this dictionary. However....
Mileometer :- n. A variation of Milometer

Milometer :- (my-lom-i-ter) n. Brit an instrument used on a vehicle for recording the number of miles travelled.

Curiouser and curiouser.... :)

13,000 Km's on a Poly 001 also, but I have 87,400km's in total, with 25 cars over the 1,000km mark

Wow, my highest legitimately is a mere 8900km with a Poly 001. I only have 2 cars that break the megametre mark, that and a poly 002. My Civic Type R and Impreza WRX STi aren't far of though.

Yeah, unfortunately this 'ere max drive has just corrupted my save file - hours of hard work out the window. Never mind, i'll just have to borrow my brother's save and action replay up to the top again.

I have about 70 cars with 0.0 miles on it. The most milage however....the escudo with 2,300
then my f090 with 1,900

And here in america it is no doubtedly an "odometer"...

According to every GM training article, class, or seminar I've seen or attended, as well as what the GM parts departments refer to, an odometer is the device that tracks the mileage accrued on a vehicle--- in the U.S.

Some cars have a trip meter, which can be reset by the owner to track mileage at will. And the new HUMMER H2's also have hour-meters (much like a lot of farm equipment) that counts the hours that the engine has been running.

(I'm a Cadillac/HUMMER technician... I couldn't let it go)

According to m-w.com (merriam-webster)
Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary

One entry found for odometer.

Pronunciation: O-'dä-m&-t&r

No offense taken!
As you'll see, I was actually contradicting one of my fellow countrymen (Gosh, I could pass for Paul Revere! Traitor that he was!!!!)
I'm well aware of the Websters "English" dictionary, with such delights as "organize" "color" "tires" etc. I was merely stating point of fact. There is no such word in the "English" English language as odometer. (I only have an abbreviated Oxford English dictionary here, as the 70-odd thousand word edition is a hardback issue and weighs a lot!! However, I'm sure Famine or someone has the big issue which probably mentions Odometer with an n. Amer after it.)
'Cos I'm a Limey in Kel-if-vor-nia (if our esteemed Governor's pronunciation is to be adopted?!!!) I have to live with these little foibles.

To be honest I was unaware NASCAR existed outside USA, please enlighten me. I'm not being sarcastic now, but please don't just say Canada! That's like saying British boxers or tennis players like Lewis or Rusedski are English!!!

Oh yeah, and adding the last answer as white on white background is a little unfair. White, isn't actually a colour. Just a complete reflection of all visible wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation, giving rise to the perception that no colour is present.

Here in Australia we call it an odometer. Here in Australia we use the metric system, which kind of makes 'mileometer' a bit silly really.
I don't have a copy of the Oxford handy but I always thought it did have odometer in there. Maybe it does for the Australian edition.

At any rate, odometer seems to have a slightly more trustworthy etymology than mileometer, at least in my opinion. And it's a bit more robust; you can use it for metric AND imperial! :D

V8 Supercars exist outside Australia.. there's a race in New Zealand! Oh, and China!

P.S. my highest odometer reading is a measly 1300km on my Polyphony002. And I have 26 cars with 0.0 on them.

I think some of your cars need an engine change. Anything over 500 clicks for a car won in the game and 800 clicks for a car bought in the game and you run into engine wear!!
