They certainly do !!

Im not sure if after just 500 miles you get engine wear ? ( not that reduces HP anyway ?) My Poly still has 829 BHP on it and its done well over 1000 miles ??

According to other threads on this subject, a car won in the game requires an oil change as it has a worn in engine. That will take it to the max BHP, however it will last just 500 clicks, 200 to 300 clicks it requires another oil change. Over 500 Clicks and you have a worn engine that reduces the BHP.

A car purchased from a dealership requires 300 clicks before it becomes a worn in engine and an oil change that will take it to the max BHP. That engine will then last 800 clicks before it becomes a worn engine although I would again recommend replacing the oil between 200 and 300 clicks. Again you will find a reduction of the BHP over 800 clicks.

I think that once the engine is worn a modifer of -2% is applied but you don't lose any more BHP unless you don't change the oil in which case you lose a further -5% componded. I am in the process of creating graphs that will show these details.

However I do have a AR2 code that applies 0.0 to the mileometer, I'm in the UK, so effectively you can get a new engine. I would re-adjust my money to show that I had bought a new engine, 1/3 of the cost of the car @ trade price. I haven't tried the code yet so it might not work and I'm having problems understanding the money code to adapt it so that I can choose the amount of money I'm given in the game.

Wow good luck dude.

Sorry, not me. I have never bought a cheat system before and the X-port i have in the post will be the first scheme of this sort i have ever used.

I now have exactly 888.8 miles on my F094/s after completing Formula GT (not test track) and I went back and did a couple races with it.

Millimeter = Small Standard Metric Measuring unit (0.0254 in)
Mileometer = Slang for tachometer - Device for measuring total distance a car has travelled in its lifetime.

Think we covered this before Polyphony001.
A Mileometer is not a slang word. Mileometer is a device for measuring distance travelled.
A Tachometer is a device for measuring engine speed.

There are 2 displays while you're driving in the car in GT3. The left one is the speedometer that displays how fast you're going, and also includes the mileometer (in the NTSC version) to display how many total miles the car has done (at the bottom) and a trip mileometer (at the top) to show how many miles the car has travelled in that particular race. (In the European and rest of the world version everything is displayed in kilometers, and hence mileometer is inappropriate, I think there is evidence posted in here that odometer is the correct choice of word. This is also a little confusing to us Brits who're made to look at things in Km/h when we all use Mph in real life!)

On the right is the Tachometer. i.e. the Rev counter, which tells you how fast the engine is revving, and when you'll hit the redline and need to change gear.

I have around 1200 miles on my Toyota gt 1 followed by 950 ish miles with the mustang svt
(very good for beginer and ametuer series).I have about 15 cars on 500 miles aswell.

NO matter how miniscule your distances covered, it's still worth noting them down in the forum along with the duration of your game so others can see if your on the right track to completing the game in a satisfactory time limit

So what would be a 'satisfactory time limit'?

I didn't realise we were competing to see who completed GT3 in the shortest amount of time. Do you have to win every car as well?

HA !! I was going to ask how long is an acceptable time limit !!!

I really think we should have to have minumum of 20k and all the yaris's have to be Pink!!!

My Yaris is pink. In the game I mean, not in real life. In Gt3, you don't get people laughing and pointing. At least not yet... :dopey:

I'd rather not be reminded of the yaris race though. That was hard enough to only warrant doing once. At least for me.

To answer your question... Let's introduce "Roadhazard's quest for the perfect game"

Yep, he noted his time, miles, and distance for how long it took him to complete the game.

Enjoy

BTW: Just checked, and I've got an F094 with 2298.0 miles on it. And yes, it's still at 829hp. (Gotta love that sharkport).

Just had a scan throuh the thread and that is madness - I think he must have been in prison !!!!

Ive got x-port now so cars with high miles are a thing of the past I feel !!!!

Der Alta - Do you mean that you have a F094 with 2298 miles and still 829 HP because you used the sharkport to maintain the bhp at 829 ???? If so is the car still legal to enter races such as the course times on Racing Line ???

Or did you mean that you used the sharkport to get the F094 (which I doubt as your GT3 powers seem quite strong !!)

Come on, a Mod using a sharkport to win a car that is piss-easy to get? Much to learn, you still have.

But on your comment, with a sharkport high miles are more common, especially with my incidental 24137462.8km in my Evo 747-400 Rally car!!!

it all occurred on test course, just as i was doing 2000mph on the straight, suddenly it all went dark.... :scared:

Nothing wrong with using shark to get the 001. As for Der Alta having much to learn ?? Im not so sure about that !!

Yes, it's quite simple with the Sharkport to maintain the "run-in" or "just won" mileage on a car. That doesn't mean the oil doesn't wear, or the car classifies as illegal. It still geins to degrade at 120 or so miles, and then the oil light comes on at 189 miles. So if I were to hop in that F094 and hit the F1 championship, by the time I reached the test course, the oil light would be on, and I'd be running at 774hp. Once completed, I'd do an oil change and it'd come up to 813. At that point, I'd load it through the sharkport and reset the engine code. Voila! back to 829.

There is a code line in the INI file that simply resets the "worn engine" code back to it's "just won" setting. Think of it as akin to dropping in a new engine.

I can't actually recall the last time I won an F1 and kept it. I usually sell them off when I win them, as I don't use them on anywhere near a regular basis.

I also tend to use the sharkport to remove such unremovables as Lightweight, balancing, and port & polish. Nice to know that I can return a car to "legal for the PD cup" If you need the codes, I have a nice little write-up that shows how to do it.

as for it being illegal I suppose its just the same as MK'ing a yaris into a 001. so I kind of understand my own question a bit more now !

And as for polyphony 001 saying Mr Alta has a lot to learn about GT3 - well no comment really !!!
