That was stupid with slowest first, I kept getting wrecked by everyone flying by into first turn or later on first lap, was not ONLY CLEA (room title : STREET ONLY CLEA). Lol!

You should have did what I did. Don't run a lap in free run. Pull out of pit, turn around, and drive to the begining of pit road. Camp out there untill the race starts. This will put you in last position, therefore making you the "slowest".
One other person actually caught onto this, and followed me. Next thing I know, we were racing eachother backwards on the track to get pole position!

Aarron, I would start by cutting all the downforce to minimum. And gear it out to about 250 if you haven't done so already. See where that gets you. The Corvette Z06 is ridiculous at Daytona, so hitting 41's is not realistic for anyone who isn't in a Z06. My GT40 is around 43. Not sure about the camaros

I'll try those setups. Thanks for the tips. I think I was geared to 225ish, but was only slightly above 200mph.

I would only expect a week between Season changes. During that time I would have to create a new thread, make any adjustments to the classes and or track list and so forth. As well as making it look awesome.

I am not too worried about Daytona. I am not the best there and never drive on it really. I just find it kinda boring to what I like. Not saying it is, just saying to me it is. I prefer hills and blind curves.

I can't wait til the Laguna Special race with 30 or so laps to race with the challenger. That will be interesting. I plan on take both groups this season btw. Total Domination!

how do you sign up for any of the event's to race them

You just did I believe, I think we are still taking new guys since the racing field is either hit or miss with people but it is starting to fill in more recently. I think you need to send Kal a FR & pick a car out for each group per OP.

Yup, anyone is still more then welcome to join. There's only 2 weeks left in this season, (Datona Speedway this Sunday 24th, Laguna next Sunday 31st). The OP will fill you in on all the details. You will have to add Kalmiya117, races are hosted in his lounge.

Anyone ever see this before? A real tie, not a glitch. My friend DoWhat13 pulled this off.

I've seen that in a NASCAR race at Tona, seems the server randomly picks the winner when that happens, we reviewed the replay and the driver that received the second place rewards clearly had a bumper in front at the line.

I'm hitting low 42s. Is that good for the Z06 or should I be running faster times?

That might not get the pole, but it's faster then any other car besides the Z06

That is good, we r in the same ball park but I have yet to push my tuning. Now I will, I need to alter trans n I bet I can hit steady 41s. I can hit 41s between laps 5 to 8 with my current tune.

Well, looks like I'm heading out of town this weekend. I'm doing another camping trip on a gold claim. I'm not sure if I'll be back in time.

Sorry to hear you may miss another race, but good luck on the dig! I'm actually suprized I've been able to make each race so far. I've been online gaming pretty hard for years (since the first Socom on PS2) but my console always seems to collect dust during the summer months. GT5 is the first game to keep me interested through summer, but alot of that is just coincidence that I've been home on Sunday evenings so far this season. Anyways, I'll do my best to keep your podium spot warm for ya, Skel!

Just remembered the Historic T/A Series has a couple track specific rues for Daytona:

"Bump-drafting" IS allowed, but use caution as each driver will be responsible for any accidents that occur as a direct result. Please do NOT bump-draft another driver when entering corners.

(so far) There will be no cautions, if you make contact with another driver (bump-drafting or otherwise) and upset his car to the point of loosing position, you are expected to slow and move below the yellow line until said driver is able to get by you, regardless of position lost from yourself.

DO NOT advance your position by going under the yellow line, you may cross the yellow to give back a position or to avoid a collision.

If you spin out anywhere on the track, your first priority should be to get out of the way of oncoming traffic. At 200mph, by the time another driver realizes your not up to speed, he most likely will not have time to react. If you are recovering and getting back up to speed, try to stay out of the racing line.

We will be starting the race with 'Rolling Start', therefore we will not use a warm up lap.

If I have forgotten anything or anyone disagree's, speak now.

I have yet to still do any practice on Daytona. In all honesty, I don't do much practice unless I use alot of other different cars.

I will be hosting of course. Room should be open around 6:30-7 ish. Expect atleast an hour of practice then a Race start time of 8-8:15 EST am.

I just can't resist posting stuff like this:

The guys that have spent time in the back half of the field with me know what I'm talkin' 'bout!

Good racing tonight. Definitely crowded and lots of contact...but minus a few it was well sorted out.

Had a great time racin with everyone tonight, Daytona is certainly a difficult track for these cars, but everyone shown alot of patience and good manors.

On a side note, had some pretty nice post race activities that I feel the need to show off:

That incredible hot lap was run at the Forest during race while leading with no draft in my very same Chally RM from last season. Look out, racers.

After reviewing the one race I save, Group II. There were several accidents that could have been avoided. But only one I could tell was deemed the worst. Titus was forced into the wall while trying to do a Draft pass. To those involved if this kind of behavior happens again, you will be disallowed to run with us. I watched the replay and it was 100% avoidable and no cause shown to create the incident. I do request that Mudd and some other watch it and discuss it via PM if needed. At this time, I am giving the spot to Titus001 because of the actions caused to keep him from passing.

As a group I think the majority of us dislike SuperSpeedways and do not spend the countless time on them tuning and running with other people. I for one and much better at road courses that speedways. That is why there was some problems last night.

Having thought about it, putting cautions and stuff into the speedway deal would require alot of effort, really more than I, would really care to dedicate to one track. I would say we can spread the formula to the rest of the track but then again, to watch and pay attention to that deal while trying to run your best is still too much.

I would say either leave Daytona as is, or drop the track in favor of another one.

Also, Mudd came up with a wonderful idea. Next season we do a world tour. We Start at one track in the USA, then make our way across the globe on foreign tracks to we reach Laguna yet again for the finale. I am ALL for this idea.

Lol. I forgot to save the G2 race, but I do have G1. I believe Crazy had the pole, I'll varify that when I get home later.

As far as the tracks, if we use the world tour idea then the speedway problem is solved. Otherwise, one speedway is more then enough for a season, I would vote to drop Daytona Speedway and keep Indy Speedway, we seemed to have a better race at Indy. If we use the American track theme again, I feel like one speedway has to be included, and Indy certainly screams with American heritage.

I updated the info. I also gave Titus the 7th place spot considering the actions of the other player resulting in titus001 being pushed against the wall.

I agree you should knock Daytona off the schedule for next season. Unfortunately as this is my favorite track and my only chance at winning against you guys. See you fellas spend time tuning on road courses & I spend my time on this track. And even though I won, it was not fun and kinda boring. You guys are elite racers and thats why I race with you guys, so I can improve on road courses. But there's no point in running this track again if the guys here have no track time here. There's no communication on passing on the outside or when hooking up. These are all musts when racing here and these are all things you learn when racing Daytona in an online lobby. Oh well, like I said I joined this series to master my tuning and get as fast as you guys elsewhere. Like I really like Deep Forest & Tokyo. Maybe we can add these next series? But I would recommend to keep Indy, because slingshoting, tire wear and aerodynamics are more of the concern there than bump-drafting. But just to let you know I can run 30 laps at Indy on one set of tires while bump drafting down the yellow line the whole race. So IMO you maybe want to reconsider that too if you guys are not up to par on that track as well. But I do like Indy better than Tona.

Or

Setup preseason races at Daytona to get experience & communications down. Same for Indy.

And from my knowledge and testing at Indy (despite I didn't race this track with this group) Group 1 cars are 47-49sec laps (any race car or RM runs below 50sec) & anything in Group 2 is mismatched, aero is a must (range from 55sec-over a minute).

See to really run these tracks proper with the PP restrictions is kind of a mess. You need cars at Daytona to run in the same top speed range (solo speed) like 210-220mph, and maybe for Group 2 only cars with aero for Indy because a Cougar will die out there for example and a Trans Cammer (no aero - can't turn or extreme camber & toe but then kill your tires to do less than 10 laps lol).

Ok I'm done, all my thoughts on this.

I don't mind Daytona too much. It gives some other guys a better chance to win. But I agree with all your other points. It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all, if it doesn't find its way on the schedule next season.

I know last season we talked about going international. I was in favor of the idea, and still am. Suzuka or Fuji for the Japan stop (good road course), and I would also like to see Madrid for one the Europe stops (a good street course). Rome is too short & dirty for this event IMO. Monza is too easy to shortcut, and too had to moniter. Same thing with Sarth. Anyone who mentions Manoco (cote d azur), will be immediately kicked off the league... Just kidding.... not really....

I'll have the standing updated at some point today.
