Do you Aussies think kangaroos are cool too, and just play it off like you're used to them? But inside you really think they're pretty neat creatures? So that we think you're cool, because you're totally nonchalant about seeing kangaroos. So seriously, how cool do you think kangaroos are? They're cooler then deer, I know that. As soon as it's back on the road remind me to line up a few monaro's for an arse whoopin. Actaul whatever happened to the HRT 427 oh that's right they couldn't afford to build it. oh and tell me why HSV's are australian? their heart and soul and whole American made - at least the FPV engines are all Australian made. that should stir the boys ha ha. check out the typhoon powerslides and back fire in photo's section :)

All I know is that in one of the liscense test you're driving a four door FPV with "BOSS" logos all over it. I like how it drives.

thats the FPV GT. its nice (was my first car) it handles all right fully tuned but standard its al ittle jerky. pd has done a good job. the f6 is crap though i dislike it. nothing like a real one. the gt is almost perfect however. im from australia so there common and im happy to see our cars are finally recognised as game worthy! I would suggest you get the GT mine has 500+ rear wheel killawatts and it goes. almost as fast as the mercedes mclaren slr (non tuned) the holdens...i dunno im a ford guy my self and havnt bothered. i would assume the monaro is very similar to the pontiac GTO though as thats where the GTO came from.

Well... I used to think they were cool.... right up until one jumped out in front of my car at 3am and did a huge amount of damage. The car was a write-off.... and that happens quite a bit in OZ... so no.. They aren't cool in my book any more...

"Neat"? Woolly jumpers? No way man they're vicious, heartless b@stards!! They'd scratch out your eyes and feast on your heart just as soon as look at ya.. Grrr. Hey, there's one out in the yard right now! Darlin!! Get the shottie!!
 
Just bought a Falcon GT in the game and it felt slow and floaty. Hopefully it'll improve with some suspension mods. I like the V8 sound tho. Nice.

I know this is a late reply but I only just found this thread......any hooooooo. It wasn't that Holden couldn't afford to build it you nong, they didn't want to put their customers through troubles of buying and AU$200 thou car. And you wish you could beat a Holden Monaro- you just posted that to feel big didn't you- HUH?

yeah the GT is a sweet car. it weighs 1825kg but it handles like a 1300kg!
its pretty funny at this stat:

FPV use a 5400cc V8 = 290KW (389bhp)
HSV need a massive 6000cc V8 to get 297KW (398bhp)

large capacity differences yet FPV get almost the same amount of power from less cubic centrementres

but the HSV Clubsport is a killer and i wish was in GT4 because it kills the Monaro and the SS Commodore :crazy: :yuck:
I wish some Holden and Ford Utes were included in the game too

An XR8 and XR6 Turbo could whip any Holden apart from the HSVs Clubbie and GTO which have AMERICAN engines in them (which is the 6.0Litre Gen IV)! Same with the new SV6 new 190KW Alloytec V6, that is also American!!
Atreides is dead right! Ford Australia has much less overseas influence than Holden!

And horrifically unecessary, the le mans race is 24 hours because the actual race in RL is 24 hours, bathurst only lasts like 5...doesnt it?

but if they did bring in bathurst, you reckon you'ld get a 5 second penalty for hitting a kangaroo? hahah

Bathurst is 1000km but they also do a bathurst 24 hr.
 
Ford actually use a different power convert system to what holden use. Ford use DIN... i forgot what holden uses. But the GT is 290kw and the HSV is 305kw using the same system as Ford.

yeah good on ya well have you seen how quickly holdens kill tyres, and the VZ Monaros and VZ SS brakes started to fade BEFORE JUST 1 LAP at Winton Raceway lol lol
but the fords tyres and brakes kept marching on

Fords brakes lack feel though, plus they just arent as quick round a track. Im not even a Holden person (R32 GTS-t reprazent) and they are just better. But fords look better.

At least HSV doesnt have clutch problems. :P Im Holden man and always will be, I respect the Xr6 T, F6 and GT but thats about as far as it goes.
 
Just to clear a few things up, Holdens are Australian made and owned, and so are Fords.
The Holden Monaro uses a New imported "Generation III" V8 engine from Chevrolet. Holden has always used Chevrolet Engines.

Ford use to use Tickford Engines (Tickford America), the same you'll find in a Aston martin and a Jaguar.

However Ford Australia for the last few years have been building their own engines off the technology (Tickford) they have learnt.

They now have several motors they use, one bing the Barra 128, Boss 260, F6 270 and Boss 290.

So holden don't make there own motors but Ford do.

I am a Holden fan and to be honest I would rather use a imported Chev motor as they are alot more poweful.

Uh, actually it's Australian designed and built. My mate's brother designed the throttle body for this very engine :)

then how the hell would you know if fords dont have good brake pedal feel? and you cant say someone else told you because people have different opinions
 
F6 will be unstoppable tell hsv bring out something quicker and better handling, which handling is more important cause why go fast in a straight line if u cant turn.

Unstoppable? What dont they have brakes :sly:.

Holden doesnt need to hand built their engines they can just plop a factory made engines in and still produce more power, Ford have been handbuilding their engines ever since they had to try and keep up with Holdens 5.7L.

A couple of my good friends have AU series 2 XR8 (220) and a EL XR8 and I must say Im unimpressed , then again my other friend with his VT SS Gen III left me rather unimpressed aswell but I do like that better than the Fords.

i dont like wheels magazine, IMO, MOTOR is better because they test better cars and give better info

Ture, wheels have a habit of doing quaters like half a second slower than everyone else.
