Practice room:

Can't connect. Keep getting a network compatibility error. Tried restarting everything already but I'll do it again.

Edit:
Second total restart did the trick.

:s No idea why that's happening. Blaze is in there just fine.

After reading everyones race recaps, sorry if I may have bumped anyone, or made a few people mad(marlboro). That is never my intention, I try to race as clean as possible......... That being said, my pass on Black Ice was no more rough than the pass Mule put on me in the 2nd hairpin, which if my memory serves me right, you actually jumped up on the green curb and bumped me wide. Now I am not complaining, but if you are mid pack, it seems like you are either going forward or backward(especially in the first few laps) and if you dont put an aggressive pass on the guy ahead of you, the guy behind you is going to do it to you.:scared: I suppose that happens in all types of motorsports though, especially these kinds of cars, if you ever watch the British Touring Car Championship, there is normally a couple helmets thrown during the season.

Unfortunately I am going to have to take the next three weeks off, had to schedule some work (hate when that gets in the way) Hopefully in 4 weeks time I can repay Mule for his aggressive block pass on me;)

Either way, you guys are a blast to run with, Mule you put on a great series. 👍

Right, about that lap 1 pass, I wasn't trying to run you wide, and as far as I know, I didn't, but I was just kinda desperate to get by you, after I lost three spots due to the contact from Brandofo. I know I went onto the green concrete, and to be honest, I'm surprised I made it work.

I was never trying to call you out on anything, though.

Green concrete is allowed. its part of the track. If you watch Bspec races, the drivers always go on the green concrete, BUT it wears down the tires even faster.

I agree that the green concrete is cool, but  at trusting the awesomeness that is BOB to decide what's acceptable driving practice :D

lol Not saying they drive amazingly but they were programed to take the route so it has to be legal.... right?

Fair enough, legal at least in game :D I'd be interested to see what high penalties on tsukuba does for that concrete....Also, never watched bob at monza any idea how they treat the chicanes?

Apparently people are getting 2:15's/1:16's on my track.

I only just got 2:19

:(

Okay, so after an appeal, and further review of the RT?Nastra incident, I've decided to remove the penalty. Here's your updated points table, as well as points from the proposed new system. Not really much, different, other than that the top 3 are even closer, and I would gain two spots ;x

One question for you Mule, since I cannot make the next three races, can I hand my car off to a buddy of mine and have him sub for my 3 races. He is a super clean driver, nothing you would have to worry about. If yes that would be cool, if no I understand. Let me know.

If he's got an account here, I don't see why not.

I just barely cracked the 2:15's earlier tonight. Not sure if I can do it consistently. I wouldn't be overly surprised if another second or more could be shaved off my time.

Never mind driving exactly where I intend to, I'm having a lot of trouble choosing lines. Some of the corners are very long, with multiple apex's, and off-camber . It's extremely challenging, but very fun also. I'm finally able to keep it on the track at least.

I'll be on practicing tomorrow night and am up for discussing tuning, lines, etc.

Sorry guys, I don't have any times to contribute. I probably won't get to this combo until later in the week.

For any of the guys that were in round 3 of the Academy, does this course feel a lot like the Eifel tracks we ran. If so, there is definitely going to be a steep learning curve. Those tracks were so different from all the others in the game.

A question for anyone that has run the track, does a "lowered" car suffer on this track due to all the elevation changes?

Also, I go back and forth from really wanting to win the series, and sharing what info I have with everyone. You can probably see that from my posts as well. I have shared my setup with some of you, and I am willing to post my last week's setup here on the forum. If a couple of you ask, I will do that. I think it is more important that we all become better racers, than who wins the series.(at least I feel that way at this moment:sly:)

So hopefully, by posting and sharing, I encourage the other "fast" guys to do the same. And by "fast" guys, I pretty much mean almost everyone in this series. :)

I can't make this week's race :( I'll be in michigan college visiting :)

:(

It's like banging your head against a brick wall. You do a time you thinks competitive and then someone comes along and does a time 3 seconds faster. Saying that the track is long enough to find the time, unlike tsukubu.

I'm visiting what used to be General Motors institute, so I'm sure SOMEONE will have gt5 laying around with a steering wheel :)

I love the 3rd corner by the way :)

There seems to be a lot of time lost or gained in the 3rd and 5th corners depending on whether or not you let your back end gets loose.

Can I still join?

Tell me about! I'm in to the 17s on the wheel, still in auto tho and the first lap is always my fastest then the tyres just fall off a cliff. Really not sure where to go with it.

Here is my setup from last week. If any of you are familiar with RKM, you will probably recognize most of this tune. If you haven't seen any of RKM's tunes, I would suggest you check them out in the Tuning forums.

I sent private messages back and forth with Roj from RKM tuning before last race. He gave me some suggestions, but I really couldn't improve on his already posted tune. I actually have no tuning abilities. I am not sure I even understand how it all works. The thing I can seem to grasp is the effect of downforce and brake balance. Since I wanted the rear end to be looser(which is very tough with a FF), I ended up dropping the rear downforce to 14, and put the brake balance at 1/10.

I hope this starts some sharing of tunes, because I would really like to learn more about how to tune a car. If any one has any suggestions on how to change this for this weeks track, I am all ears.

Dang, I didn't think of reducing the rear down force. I had it set to 25 out of 35. My break balance was 5/6. Looks like my back end could have been a whole lot looser.

For race #3 I have set my rear down force to 30 out of 35. Maybe this should be increased to it's maximum (35) since the back end gets too loose in several corners.

Also, I haven't changed my break balance from 5/6. On non-FF cars I usually run something like 8/2 for break balance. Wouldn't this eat tires on our FF car though? What kind of break balance is everyone considering?

I got down to a 2:17.4 now.

Basically, I was going easy in places where I should have been pushing. I still probably have a few tenths i can still squeeze out of it.

I always run a brake balance set towards the rear that gives the back end a kick round as you get to the end of the braking zone. Interesting setting on reds car with the 1/10. Heavily biased to the rear. Will have to check that out!
