whats the qualy order?

says room's full.
did i qualify?

is anyone here?

Room is full right now. Last few qualifiers. Race hasn't started yet. Once the starting grid is figured, people that didn't qualify in top 16 should get kicked. Then there will be room for those that need to get in. Just out of curiousity, how many people still need to get in the room?

Jett, i see you keep getting bounced. try to reset cache. You still have time, we haven't even posted grid yet. maybe even reset ps3. Sucks dude

My recap:

Pretty uneventful race for me. Wii got a clean pass on me on about the 3rd lap. From the first few laps, I could see we were pretty close on lap time, and we were pulling a little away from the field. I decided I would just follow him for the next few laps and get a feel for where his lines were and see if we could pull away a little more. Wii was making great time, so I ended up following him until lap 14. At that point I could tell I had a lot more tread left on my tires than him.

We battled a little bit for position(all clean) and I was able to pass him on lap 15 I believe. This is were I was originally planning on pitting, but I thought I would run a few laps to see how my tires were. Still not thinking I would make it on 1 stop. I was turning low '58s so I decided to stay out for a while. Made it all the way to lap 22 before pitting.

At this point, I still thought, I would have to make another stop before the finish. About 6 laps later, Wardez came out from the pits about 15 car lengths in front of me. Lucky me! He sucked me along until about lap 40. At that point my tires were still good, and he let me by. Thank you Wardez!

At that point I had about a 6 sec lead, and my tires were in great shape. Ran low to mid '58s from there. Very uneventful. Thank you to Stig, Sy, Wardez, and Nastradamus for knowing my running position and giving me tons of room. Thanks guys!

I know some people must have had some action with 16 people on such a small track. I look forward to hearing the recounts of peoples races. Thanks again for the clean racing from everyone I encountered(even if I didn't mention you above).

Thanks again Mule for hosting another great race!

I had the same guy take me out on lap 3, then block me going into the last corner which threw me into pit lane and sent me off the track. I made a mistake on the last lap which allowed a couple people to catch up, and one of them passed. I had a run on him down the last stretch and tried to swing out and pass but was blocked.

I don't know, this race pretty much put a bad taste in my mouth racing with a few people.

Blaze_409 on the other hand, props for being cool and cruising with me for a bit. We had a good thing going there. 👍

Any issues, don't hesitate to PM me. I'll look at everything tonight.

Turbo, I think the main issue is that you have never had to run mid pack before:sly:.

Not trying to diminish what you had happen to you out there. But in the Lexus series I had a lot of the same problems when I would get mid pack. It seems like a lot of people mid pack want to fight for the position on every corner(whether there is room or not) I am not speaking directly of what happened to you, because I have not seen it.

The people up front, always seem to be a bit smarter about the race and work together. Hopefully as the season progresses, people in the mid pack will realize passing for passing sake is pointless. Work together, give room to the faster guy, and everyone's race will be better. There is no point trading positions every other corner, to just run 2 sec slower laps. Its a no win for everyone.

I know the Lexus series was much better by the end of the season. I think we are off to a much better start from my perspective in this series. A lot of the people in here have raced together before, in the Lexus or other series.

I am glad you and Blaze worked together:tup:

For clarification: I am by no means calling anyone out with my comments. I have not seen the replay, and I personally saw no "foul" play during the race. I respect what Turbo has to say, though. He is probably the fastest, if not one of the fastest racers we will ever see in this series. One of the cleanest as well.

I look forward to the rest of the series

Yeah you certainly had the best balance between pace and tire wear, which is why you got the well deserved win. I could run fast but, like some of you guys pointed out after my qualifying run, I tear through the tires quickly  I really noticed that after you got by me on lap 15, at which point I wasn't entirely sure if I was going to run a 1 stop or 2 stop pit strategy. However after you got by you began to pull away, so I knew I was wearing out my tires too quickly and decided to pit on lap 16 and run a two stopper to help compensate.

After that the race wasn't too eventful for me. I gained plenty of time on R1600Turbo and Blaze during the first half of my second stint, and passed them as they were entering the pits together. After I made my second stop on lap 29 I entered the track a few seconds behind them and with my fresher tires I slowly reeled them in. I passed Blaze by getting a good run out of the final turn and out breaking him into the first turn, and I did the same to Turbo the next lap. Once in front of them I tried to keep pushing in hopes of catching BlackIce, but after a few laps I realized I wouldn't be able to do it. At the same time I couldn't break away from Turbo, and I was afraid that he would catch me in the final laps and pass me back. He ended up following me until the final lap, where lucky for me he made an error allowing me to pull away from him, so I didn't have any pressure on me as I finished off the final lap.

Anyways it was a great race. We had a great turnout which I hope continues for the rest of the season. Thanks to Mule for organizing everything and running another good race! 👍

Turbo, I think the main issue is that you have never had to run mid pack before:sly:.

I wasn't mid-pack until lap 3. The best part of my race was cooperating with Blaze and just cruising to save tires. (others take note, this is how you race) I wanted to stay with him for the whole race to see where it got us, so I made sure when I was ready to pit I pulled to the inside of the straight and let him know I was coming in.

That race was definitely a one-stop race if you knew how to save your tires.

Thanks Wii. Yes, the front tires on this car go quickly. In qualifying I was detonating the tires too. I ran a bit different lines in the race, trying to keep the tires from getting red in any of the corners. It worked well for me in this race.

From the first 2 races, I can see that you are very fast. I am glad I got to race with you for a bit today, good clean stuff. Hopefully we will see a lot of each other on the podium this season.(fingers crossed, lots of quick drivers here)

Speaking of the speed of this group-

I was just looking through our roster, and we have a lot of people that were in the top 512(probably 256) in the GT Academy. Jett, Wardez, Brosif, SLC, Stig, myself, and of course Mr. Silverstone - R1600Turbo. Probably would be a few more in the group if it truly was GT Academy North America. I am sure a few of our Canadian and Mexican friends would have made the list too. Sorry to anyone I missed(I know the list fairly well, but not by heart).

My race pretty much went like this:

I was better off the line than what I expected, (The way I had 2nd set up, I thought it would bog down more tha nit did) so I had another typical "Mulian" start. Was able to make it 3-wide with RT and Nastra, but before I could back off, we were already in the brake zone. I think Nasta went wide because of it, and I let RT go by. However Brandofo* slammed into me, which allowed him, BlackIce and bdub to all go by. I was able to get back by bdub in the next hairpin, and fight with brandofo and blackIce for a bit, before RT, who had fell off the track, caught up to me. He passed me, and after that, I started to suck for a bit, as I fell off a couple times, struggled to find my brake-points in the draft, and with worn tires, and fell to about 10th.

After my first stop, I was involved in a 5-way battle with Wardez, syjones, Marlboro, and Aliens. Sy and I were able to get by the other three, and while he pulled ahead, I was still under pressure from Wardez. We passed each other a few times, before i fell off yet again, and was stuck in 12th.

After stop #2, I was 12th, but had finally found my comfort zone, and was pulling off my fastest laps of the race. Passed Marlboro with little effort, and got by Jett while he was in the pits.

But then I ran into Blackce, who was in 2nd. I knew he was up there, but regardless, my mentality was "I'm faster than him, I need to get up to Wardez, I'm racing him like it was for position." So I did. However, Whether it was because he was holding me up or not, I don't know, but I just couldn't get by him, and when I had a chance to, it was because I bumped him, and thus slowed down a bit to give him his spot back (I'm too nice :/). Whenever I slowed up a bit, and he got ahead of me by a bit, I was able to get right back on his bumper.

Then bdub cought up to us, and I was able to hold him off for a bit, but then my tires died off, he got by, and seemingly got by BlackIce with little effort, which is what made me think that he was holding me up (EDIT: okay, looks like bdub got pretty rough with him, but i still think Blackice should have still let the two faster cars go). I was still able to maintain the same distance between the two of us even with worn tires, as well. :/

Oh well. I choked again :(

* I've heard people complain about Brandofo, both today, and last week, about how he needs to race alot cleaner. So yeah, you should probably do that.

EDIT:

RT
(others take note, this is how you race)

I'll just say that if I had cruised, I would have finished even worse. I'm no where close to being good enough to make GT Acadamy yet if I was allowed in, so I have to push a bit to try to keep up.

Though I think I have improved somewhat since the start of the Lexus series, even if my finishes aren't saying that.

This is a bit random but its relevant considering the connection issues people have had today caused by these anonymous hackers who are mad that sony has sued geo hotz and geohotz fled to south american similar to one Uwe gemballa. some guys says he'll buy a Ps3 and do whatever he pleases with it....

Its a PS3 and you play games and you should have no problem agreeing to their terms. Its funny because they wanna jailbreak it and then when it breaks they wanna cry to sony to get a FREE FIX.

mule you might want to watch the replay again from the other perspectives. yes my car made contact with yours on the first turn, but i believe it was because i was bumped directly before that.

from my perspective, i was on the inside line entering the first turn with blackice directly to my left. he might not have seen me on the inside because he cut into the apex, which knocked me into the grass, and my car slipped as it came back on the track due to the bump i received from blackice. that is the point where my car bumped you.

watch it again from my perspective and from blackice's perspective. if you still think i am at fault then that is ok.

from my perspective, i think you might have been a tad too aggressive on lap 2, turn 3 when you cut inside off the racing line and bumped me off the track. that being said, it is a tight track and its hard to spread the field out without a few bumps.

i will continue to try my best to drive clean. but i think turn 1 was not my fault as i had established my position on the inside and was bumped into the grass. let me know what your official ruling is.

@ brandofo: I snapped a nice picture of the epic damage on your car. First time I've seen anything that bad...

TsukubaCircuit_6.jpg

lol i think that happened on lap 1, turn 2. i was just barely bumped by someone in a yellow car and it didnt even do real damage, but my car looked like it was in a horrible wreck.

RT, There was plenty of that in the Daytona race, as well. ;)

brandofo: I looked at the replay earlier, and it looked as if you kind of divebombed Blackice, and the both of you hit each other. I never said it was your fault, but I have been told both this week and last that you've been bumping into people, and not respecting corner rights.

EDIT: Oh, and fastest lap went to Wiifreak again.

So surprisingly, I've only gotten 1 PM after the race, however that PM did lead to a time penalty.

+15 seconds to nastradamus87 for his last lap block on R1600Turbo, relegating him to 6th, and promoting Blaze, the lucky recipient to 4th, and RT to 5th, where he was when the incident occurred. :/

I don't think it was malicious, but RT was clearly inside of him, and Nas still pushed him basically onto pit road, and making him spin out into the grass.

Other than that, unless another issue is PM'd to me, consider the results official. Will edit the spreadsheet and post #2 shortly.

Ok before I say my side of all the stories that involved me, just like to point out the top 3 drivers' points.

BlackIce90 - 43
RedReevos - 41
WiiFreak - 40

Pretty close if you ask me.

Now my side. Keep in mind I haven't watched the replay yet. Ok on the first turn, I think I bumped Nas or Mule (someone in the 3 wide first turn) because I was hit from behind, only slightly tapped. Mule said brandofo divebombed me. I really dont know because I used the hood cam which has no Rear View Mirror which i think is so stupid. I didn't see brandofo until after he squeezed in and pushed me wide. I will admit the brandofo was pretty aggressive, multiple times on turn one and turn 8 he would brake late really late and use me as a wall to lean against and pass me. (not trying to call you out man, just saying how i felt during the race) I will also mention that a number of times on straights brandofo would bump me back after I accidentally bumped into him because of lag spikes. I dont have hard feelings but there shouldnt be revenge hits in races, just hope your rival or whoever messes up instead of trying to make them mess up.

Me and Nas were working well together until he had to pit. The lap where RT spun out on turn 4 into the sand, I slammed into him because he jumped out in front of me but he probably didnt see me coming so im sorry for the hit RT.

Mule, I wasn't trying to block you at all, I was actually trying to keep up my pace so we ca both get each other up to Wardez and Reevos. You needed wardez and I needed Reevos so I wanted to work together but I saw you werent bump drafting just trying to pass and I would have let you pass me but I never saw u have the inside lane on any of the turns. Sorry that I slowed you down so much that club caught up. I only made one pit stop that race so my tires couldnt take the turns at high speeds.

The time club passed me, he hit me pretty hard on turn 1 which made me slide almost into the sand so i didnt let him "just pass me," I was meaning to slow him down too mule because I saw how at the exit of a few turns he would push you to the side so I did wanna help you just didnt work out.

Nice win reevos, I was catching up to you before lap 35 but the you caught up to wardez and in my mind, im like, that lucky son of a gun got a draft and I was all alone until mule showed up but the team work between me and him wasn't there.

By the way Mule, I wanted to keep my speed up so WiiFreak wouldnt catch up to me. I kinda wanted to keep you behind me because he would have too get through you to get to me. My tactic was to work with you to get to Reevos but keep you behind me so WiiFreak cant get ahead of me, but I was in no way trying to block you at any point.

Thanks for the full re-count of your race BlackIce. I really do enjoy reading these.

As for the catching up, I didn't keep really close track, but i thought you were catching me a bit(not too much though) while I was following Wardez. I figured it was fine, because you must have been running hard on your tires.. While I was in the Wardez train, with very minimal wear. It was actually after Wardez let me by that I started to widen the gap. At that point my tires were still in good condition, and i was able to run high 57s and low 58s to the finish.

I was lucky that Wardez pulled out though. He is a fast driver, and to be able to ride with him, while he had fresh tires was a bonus. I could take it easy on my tires, and then get sucked into his draft on the straights. No doubt everything went well for me in this race.

Ya you run the perfect race, I think only me and you had a 1 pit race, everyone else went in twice. I was pushing pretty hard on my tires seeing how I was only 4 seconds away at one point but then you pulled away. Lets see how we do on the custom track. How do we download the track to practice on it?

Ah, okay. I understand what you were doing, then. For some reason, working with you didnt even cross my mind.

I still have no idea how I wasn't able to pass you, though, except for the two times I bumped you, and let off.

Updated points table:

gtpiwcpoints.jpg

Getting passed by bdub late cost me three spots. I really hate that gap from 10th to 11th, and want to make a better points system. But I don't think I can...

...can I? ;x

Thanks for posting the new stats Mule. Just out of curiosity, is there no bonus points for pole.. Or bonus points for pole and victory combo. If not it is totally cool. I just know they do that in some series.

You cant really change the points system now. And racing is a team sport, yes your alone in the car but it matters who you befriend on the track.

Ahh your just trying to bump yourself up to my score. lol
