:odd: After reading your post, I decided to open it, but mine was in an medium(parcel) paper envelope, car still inside the box, rolled up really thick in bubblewrap.

Everything's good, and although it came from China, packaging is Japanese, which is cool. 👍 They just had their domestic info labeled with a small sticker in Chinese.

Edit - Pics:

R1600 and A6!!!!! I want dat GT86 NAO!!!!! Hand it over :grumpy:.

Edit: Never heard of "Selling my stuff, United States"

Dude, you and me both want that 86. We must find a way to get one of these. Start that bid on the black one ASAP!!!!!

There was talk of shelving and displaying a few pages back, so I'll show you some examples here -

This little cameo of cars . . .

. . . comes from this section . . :

. . . which is part of this section:

:eek::drool:👍

My eyes are trying to pop out of my sockets.

I'm thinking of doing a shelf for mines as well, but with a plastic glass covering. Or something like that.

On import taxes, as far as I'm aware we don't have any in the US for relatively small personal purchases at all. I've had orders of over $1000 from Asia and never had to pay anything. I think you have to order things in commercial quantities before you'll pay customs duties on them.

Ah,very cool. If I could, every single wall would look like that. Heck, mayve I'd even let some on their blister cards to fill the upper parts.

My rooms walls look like that , its a pain in the But to clean .
another thing you can do is build glass cases , no cleaning ETC

Yeah its quite a pain to keep clean which is why all my various display cases around the room are sealed types with glass or acrylic windows so no model is out in the open.

Two more photo's of the upcoming (July release date) Monster Jam Then & Now 2-packs.

These aren't my pictures FYI.

Excaliber in it's original paint scheme, and, of course - the new truck.

For those who didn't see the other picture I poster few pages back, here's Samson I & the new truck respectively.

Can't wait for these! Normally I don't buy the Monster Jam trucks, but since I'm a huge fan of the oldschool trucks these are must haves for myself.

Mine rarely get dusty, because I keep swapping them weekly so it's never going to build up enough dust that I'd have to really spend some time dusting off.

What blister is it on?

And I'm wondering if the value for that one South Texas Diecast is a typo. No way there's that big of a difference in value between the loose and blister car...

Same here. My open cars never sit long enough to gather dust. The unused open ones are stored in drawers to prevent not only dust but the oxidization that comes with exposure to light.

I love having my cars touchable at any given moment. I grab and go when I want to.

I'd also say it's a typo. Not even in the earlier blistercards is nearly that expensive.

Then normal one, the classics facing left , i saw this car on the front page of the hot wheels price guide five years ago saying what nut would pay one grand * it was the authors prized car* , well at least i was smart nuff to pay like 2$ , the old guy had no idea what he had haha , i also bough ta logitech Driving force pro next door to him for 20$ a bargain!

I'm really lost.

Some rare Woodie, but the blister's covered up by paper. It may, or may not be worth a lot of money. Harry's talking about car in his pocket that he drove over something.

I'll be back later. You guys better make more sense when I come back.

P.S. Nice moster trucks, Anton. They really won't come out with the Bigfoot though, huh? That was my favorite. :guilty:

The Hotwheels monster trucks are branded under the Monster Jam franchise. Bigfoot (the company) and the people who run the Monster Jam series had a dispute over video rights and agreed to stay away from each other. So, no Bigfoot.

Although you will hear about them shortly. They're going to attempt to re-take the distance record for longest jump in September.

God, another reason to shoot the lawyers. ;)

Thanks for the explanation. 👍

Yours has a raw metal base, but the 1990 has a black metal base. I too would like to see the card it's on. Fourthed.

Produce photo! :p

Anyway, stopped at a few stores on the way home. Guess what I found! :D

Left:
  • BMW 2002 (Error - Reverse windows)
  • 2010 Ford Mustang GT Black w/Police Livery
  • Mazda Furai (New release)
Right:

Been looking for the CRX and Furai. Ferrari looks nice, too. 👍

Still no Supra or Brat from the Hot Ones series?

Not yet, I think those are later this year.

The best part about that CRX is that it's MID ENGINED. Freaking awesome.

For my custom, I'm just going to paint the lower chrome portion white, change the wheels and detail the interior. That should really make it pop.

OK, that might change everything. Growing up during 80's, in Japan, this is the only midship CR-X I'm familiar with:

Untitled-7.png

From this comic book(manga):
I love that Supra(or Celica XX where I'm from!). Before "Initial D", for our generation, there was Yoroshiku Mechadoc.

Similar looks, but definitely not identical. Hmmmm.....

Edit: According to this blog, it's not directly from the manga I read, but possibly from another manga, (IMO)inspired by the manga I read.

japanesenostalgiccar.com
In 1981 Hot Wheels debuted the Hot Ones, a line of diecast cars with an articulating suspension and thin axles for a smooth, frictionless ride across your tabletop. Mattel has been busy re-launching many of the iconic cars from this series, as well as adding new models that werenÂ’t included in the original collection but probably should have been. Case in point: the Honda CR-X, an 1980s icon of sport compacts.

However, in true Hot Wheels spirit, this is no ordinary concours-grade CR-X. ItÂ’s a Mugen-kitted mid-engine monster from the mind of Ryu Asada, MattelÂ’s resident Honda head from across the hall at Matchbox.

Apparently the car was loosely inspired by King, a two-volume manga by Keiichiro Shinmura about a guy who converts his CR-X from FF to MR to become “king” of the touge.

Gold SSR MkIIs may not be available on the Hot Wheels, but the diecastÂ’s techno Mazda 626-esque rims are straight from the Ultra Hots, another 1980s Hot Wheels line that consisted of top sports cars of the era like the Ferrari 308, Porsche 928 and BMW M1. Good company for this pocket rocket. See more scans from the manga like the one below at HondaCRX.info. link

I think I link'd these guys in this thread before. They sure know a lot about Japanese cars & hot wheels!

Edit2: OK, I googled in Japanese and actually tracked down the blog by the manga author, Mr. Shinmura Keiichiro, who wrote not the "Yoroshiku Mechadoc", but "King", which according to the Japanese Nostalgic Car.com, the Hot Ones CR-X was inspired by.

In the blog, he does admit that most readers will think of the "Yoroshiku Mechadoc", when they hear CR-X Mid, but he did not copy the other manga. Instead, he claims that it was the D-Class Competition CR-X that made him fall in love with the car, then put the idea of a Mid(ship) CR-X in his head.

Video linked from his blog:

I'm sorry this turned into some kind of a obsession.
