hot wheels!!!

Am I the only weird guy who collects hot wheels? I mean, die casts, but of all them, hot wheels?? they may be the cheapest and more common, but they are also the coolest. anyone collects those little things?? or I am THAT weird?

I collected Matchbox. I still buy little cars occaisionally, but only if they're 'everyday' cars - the other week or month I got a Celica and Jeep Liberty. Meh.

hahaha, damn. I like hot wheels because they do weird designs as well as the best hot rod models in the industry. I sometimes like their wild things, sometimes I just laugh. all in all, its fun to collect them.

I used to collect hot wheels cars when I was younger, but now I built those Tamiya kits. Way fun! And once you finished a kit, you can't stop looking at it's beauty.

I collect only Viper hot wheels. I have a whole wall of them. I just started doing it one day, and found it kind of fun to see if I could get them all. Kinda lost track now, but I have a nice collection at home of old ones. Probably missing a lot of the newer ones.

I used to, but now my kids have them. They love hot wheels also. The coolest ones they have I think are the go-cart and the Mars rover.

No. But I used to, and still kinda do, collect those big ass models with working everything. The autoartmodels.com ones. But I just buy those to decorate my garage.
Hot wheels are for children.

Yep. I just found a Porsche Hot Wheel in my room the other day that changes colors.

What were those cars that had those panels on the side, that when you put pressure on them, the panels would flip over to reveal a crushed version of the other side? It made it seem like the cars were damaged when you ran other cars into them. Were those Hot Wheels too, or some ghetto'er version made by some other company?

I probably have more Micro Machines than Hot Wheels.

I used to have about 400 Hot Wheels, Matchbox (though the quality went downhill once they stopped making them in England) & Corgi Juniors. I had a bunch of Corgi's & Matchbox Super Kings, also. I've been rebuilding my collection in recent years, I'm buying 1/24 cars, too.

I used to collect them as a kid. I recently found a bunch in my basement that were still in good condition. Some of the better ones I have include a 53 Corvette and a Corvette Stingray.

OMG!! 1000 hot wheels!! damn, some of you maybe have some real jewels over there. and no, I differ in that hot wheels are for children. even If I had the money to buy 1:8 models, Id still buy hot wheels, because, as I said, they have cool designs. one I love is the VW bus, a box-made-funny car design with flipping body to reveal a huge engine. other is one that was introduced this year, the 8crate, a 56 ford wagon with the engine mounted midships. the list goes on and on. they always make cool cars. yes, they make "normal" cars too. the enzo model is real cool. very well detailed, and Im only talking about the nailine cars, the a buck a car line. the collectors editions are impressively detailed and feature cool designs... in 1:64, 42, 24, 1n 18 scales. they are taking over most segments, and they are doing onw helluva cool job.

I think you should really check out what you have in your hands, everyone who has old hot wheels... some are worth thousands of dollars, really.

That's amazing! I only have about 200 or so.....what is your oldest hot wheel? Mine was 1985.

Eh... Hot wheels I think when I was small, I had maybe 2 or 3. I had one of those color changing ones too. I actually had bought one of those crashing things, cause they were advertised so well But after I bought them, I'm sad to say I was greatly disappointed. And yeah they were made by hotwheel. Do you guys remember the little ones you could shoot out? Those were cool. But then I had these all when I was like 7.

Now I collect the 1:18 models. I've got roughly 25ish scaddered strategicly around my room.

Yeah, the Tamiya kits are incredible.

Do any of you guys have one of those build-your-own-remote-control-car kits? Where you build them, with a real engine and everything? It runs on actual gasoline (or some other special type of fuel, I forget the name)? They can go quite fast. My cousin has two of them, and I love go to a little track and racing them.

Older brother just did a Vette model (like Acidman's, I think) but he sanded it for ages, added loads of coats of primer extra carefully, then finished it in a metallic black!

Not too sure. Late 60's early 70's probably. I also have a bunch of 80's models too.

dude, you should REALLY check out what you have in your hands. you may have cars that are worth THOUSANDS, each! there are many rare castings that are worth a little fortune. you should really check out that. go to ebay.com to see how they are priced... and look for any hot wheels collectors page to see what model is what and how rare they are, in what color, and all that stuff. hey, if you arent an avid colector, you should at least give dem to someone who is really hardcore @@ so they will be in a good home o.O

Or you could just give them to me so I could sell the one's worth thousands of dollars, and use the money to buy a Supra so I won't have to sell ony of my cars, or one of my nuts to a medical lab, for cash.
