Its not real, he is not drifting, half of the track is half rally-ish... but screw it... this track is epic.

Wasn't this showing a link up to the Wangan or something?

Umm I don't think so. I'm sure you could "link" it to the Wangan eventually, but I'm pretty sure this touge and the Wangan are in different parts of Japan.

I was googling for Nihon Romantic Highway (its the only visible clue), but i didnt found this spot so far on google maps.

Ya I'm not where in Japan this actually is (I'm sure Cerebus does since he posted it). Did you try searching for Irohazaka? I'm not sure if that's the name of the town at the bottom, or if that's the name of the mountain pass.

I only posted that cause the one guy mentioned a touge course. Irohazaka would work well for the GT series since a full loop can be made. And although this isnt a drift specific track, it would be awesome for drifting, and would also be very usable by other types of racing.

Edit: I just googled Irohazaka: turns out the name has something to do with the Japanese alphabet (I think it said their are 48 characters in the alphabet, and there are 48 turns in the one section of highway).

One of the paths on the map (not sure which one) is an uphill only route, and is the newer section of road.

The town/city on the left side of the map is called Nikko. Try searching that on google maps.

Nice hints.
Looking for japanese routes in google maps looks like a gigantic playground for drifting, hahahaha. Of corse in loco not all routes would became good drift places, but all those lines and corners...

Anyways, like everyone knows, there is no A-B track in GT5 (at least i dont remember any). So, real or fantasy based, it would be in circuit format.

Exemples:

Kanawaga Touge - Japanese

Serpentine Touge - FRA

I know that people in GT5 prefer flat tracks because the elevations in this game can be nasty (specialy in CH), but a game so epic like GT5 can´t satisfy the touge lovers offering Eiger, Deep Forest and (perhaps) Nurburgring. Lacks elevation! Lacks close walls and downhills! Lacks SEVERAL HAIRPINS SEQUENCES!

Kanawaga Touge is good and bad because of the change in widths in the road as I've drifted on it in rFactor and I'd prefer it if they kept it a tad tighter with say 2 or 3 lanes. Plus there's also a tunnel that goes through the middle of the map and links up to the other side of the track and it'd be interesting to see if PD would implement it or not.

Hey stavingo what see things do you have in the Logitech profile and in game for r factor I seem to be getting a center spring problem I have the obs 2.4 set up

I haven't really touched any of the centre springs or deadzone settings etc.

I have my steering degrees at 180 for some weird reason and thats about it.

I see... yesterday i was racing in London (i dont go in that track for "years") and i saw the same situation about change of widths. Otherwise, tracks with diferent sectors with width changes are interesting in the point of have more options of lines, or even find the optimal line between those changes. Normaly in my custom tracks, is normal to use this feature.

Again about Kanawaga in Project Torque (aka Level-R or Heat Online), there is an interesting aspect that we never will have in GT5, witch are the dynamic elements in the track that can become obstacles (like a cone, road signal). Sometimes a road signal lay in the track can be a reason of a car´s barrel roll. So all these elements that you saw in the video are alive, there is no "invisible wall" anywhere.

The change of widths I don't mind but it still feels wide as a touge and the way the switch the lanes from 2 lanes to 3 is sort of unrealistic and doesn't give you any heads up when it's happening which is good and bad.

The rFactor version has loose items as well but most of them can't be used to cause crashes and such.

They should atleast add ebisu, because it has many variations and it can be used to touge and racing of course as well as drifting.

This is getting a little off topic, but oh well...I had to share this and thought it would fit as here as well as anywhere.

I randomly came across this "Squirrel Suit" video, and low and behold, the guy is flying right over top of the Irohozaka touge (the one that Cerebus made the map of).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmlAW_1hgT8

The footage itself is freakin insane...and you also get some cool shots of the road. It really shows how gnarly this stretch of highway is.

I think PD need to put in ebisu, most D1 fan's love to see the ebisu rounds and theres a lot of people trying to replicate ebisu with this "Track Creator" option. Everyone loves the jump 👍

Maybe we need to get supporters ? I say we post this page on as many drift forums as possible .? Let them know and we'll get the numbers

Honestly, petitions won't do anything. PD will just ignore them because petitions online are useless. Just because you put your username or real-name on it, it won't help, because there's no real home address, there is no signature, and the person who started the petition hasn't signed it either and not only that but unless you email it directly to Kaz, which I don't see how is possible since he hasn't given out his email address or if he even has an email address, then there isn't much point.

The only thing we can do, is to keep posting the link to his thread via his twitter and hope he takes notice. Other than that, we're powerless.

Yes I agree; Gran Turismo needs dedicated D1 courses. 71 // 89.87%
I disagree; there are plenty of courses + course maker. 6 // 7.59%

We need to reach like 20K Votes for PD to do anything... D:

Agreed. :D

Edit:

Orr we do this? :D

GT is a sponsor of D1GP...I could care less about most of the cars(though I always hold a soft spot for the Team Orange stable) it boggles my mind why all of the tracks that D1 competes on or have competed on are not part of the tracklist...Kaz seriously? Help a brotha out, I really need to practice some Nikko...

This ^

Although I do love the look of D1 cars, I would way rather PD give us more upgrade options (including engine swaps), more visual options, as well as a livery editor, and let us create our own D1 monsters (or replicate your favorite D1 car if you so choose)

I would also think that most of the D1 tracks would make very good race tracks for the sub 500pp range...well, maybe sub 450ish...but you get my point lol. It would add content to the game for more than just the drifters.

GT would be the best game if they had visual options, like body kits, decals/vinyls. And some upgrades. Id pay 200 for this game if they had that.

You can grab Need for speed for $50 or cheaper. That might suit better, no? /sarcasm

**** that, It will turn into Ricer heaven Lol. I do like the sound of all this stuff, but it needs to include Rollcages, Bucketseats, Steering wheels, etc. The Visual stuff on GT Auto is already fine, but need to add alittle more variety. I'd like to de-Spoiler my JX100 and My S13's :D <3
Livery editor would be sick though :3

Going alittle off subject here I know but GT5 has never been about this but being suporters of D1GP, then it would be a great move by PD.. And for the tracks I dont see why not!! :D

But then he would have a game with good visual mod options, but everything else is crap..the physics, car selection, track selection, graphics etc...but most importantly the physics.

I think most people want all the positives that GT5 offers, PLUS those extra upgrade options.

Of course, that may lead to seeing more "rice" car online...but that's the online community for you...people are going to do what they do. You can either limit options so everyone's cars look the same, or you can give options and just simply deal with seeing ugly cars sometimes...kinda like real life.

And ya, I totally agree that the upgrade options would need to be more than just Evo front bumpers and big ass wings (we already have the big ass wings...on the standards cars, a lot of those wings aren't proportioned to the cars properly at all right now). As of right now, IMO, the aero upgrades are pretty crappy. True, some of the cars have good looking kits you can put on them, but those are few and far between. Most of the cars have kits that are either so minimal you barely notice them (RX-8 for example), and others have kits that just simply don't make any sense (MkIII Supra, or PS13...where are the damn back bumpers????)

Forgive me for saying this, but the options in Forza 4 are pretty much what I would be looking for. Aero parts that actually effect the aerodynamics, as well as the weight of the car. The ability to add full roll cages and stuff like that. Also, the mechanical upgrades of Forza are much better than GT5 (the whole stage 1, stage 2, stage 3 things is extremely overplayed...and who in their right mind would opt for only doing stage 1 or 2, when you can spend less than 10 minutes and make over 200k). Plus, all mechanical upgrades contribute to the weight of the car (either reducing or increasing), which is much more realistic. For me, it actually felt like you could build your own car the way you wanted to in Forza, where as in GT5, everyone's cars are pretty much the exact same.

Another game that has very good upgrade options is the Tokyo Extreme Racer series (the latest installment is called Import Tuner Challenge, on Xbox). Tons of visual mods, as well as mechanical. You can upgrade the interior as well with seats, wheels, gauges, roll cage, colours etc....you can even chose what kind of ornament you want hanging off the rear view mirror lol. One very cool thing that game had that I have yet to see in any other game is the ability to add an anti-lag system to turbo cars...very cool!

Sorry, this is way off topic for this thread lol. MORE D1 COURSES PLZZZZZ

Not a D1 Course, but i had to post this.
