How do i join the GTP team?

Whenever your fault results in another driver losing a spot or crashing, just stop and let them pass, and if it was really nasty, send them a PM. I make many mistakes online, and I have never had a bad response, PMs or reports.

Here in lies the problem I see forthcoming, I'm not going to pull over if I make unintentional contact with anyone. In real racing it doesn't work that way. If all racers did that it would make for the lamest position battles ever. Like I said though I'm not going to ever intentionally crash into people as that's a real jerk move, but contact is unavoidable in racing. I'd have no problem sending someone a PM but I fear I'd be met with a "holier than thou" attitude which I've been met with before.

The only way to learn how to properly drive online is by doing it. You should join and see how relaxed the most part of the whole lot is. :)

Based on my past experience I'm hesitant to join the WRS. I've gotten PM's from GTP_ tag drivers saying all sorts of things which can be summed up as "I shouldn't be allowed to wear the GTP tag". Apparently the way I race isn't up to the standards of the WRS, therefore as not to cause problems I'll just simply pass on racing in it.

I'm sure not everyone is like that, in fact I'm fairly certain not everyone is like that, but I don't want to get PM's all the time from a handful of people expressing their dissatisfaction of my driving.

And as of right now I can't participate in the WRS because I sold GT5:P after I completed the single player part and found that I didn't care for online.

I've never had PM's like that, and if I did, they could bite me. ;) If you send PMs like that without proper cause (e.g. somebody deliberately screwing up things) you don't deserve the tag yourself IMO.

And about the stopping thing: that's kind of a gentlemen's agreement, and it's not used for any contact, only when you punt someone offtrack and mess up their lap. It's quite common, even across other fora. Lots of people enjoy the fight more than the win. ;)
