Whooaaa, easy there tiger, put your senseless flame out.
That's like me saying pointlessly to you, that since you are from The Empire State, you have the tendency to jump on peoples remarks more often because you have anger issues. I voted in your poll, I just think its a silly thread, and was pointing it out. If you were in any form not self conscious, you wouldn't have looked through my page, looked up how many threads I posted and then tried to throw it in my face to put me down. Don't get offended so easily.

I've been through many many profiles. I checked yours out a few days back, clearly before this little quarrel. But really, if you don't like the topic, why even bother stating it? You knew I'd eventually see that message of yours, being the creator and all. It just makes sense to me to not even say something that may provoke something as silly as this. It's silly because it could have been easily avoided by simply not saying anything. You voted, thanks, but no thanks to the bashing.

As soon as I move downstairs to a bigger room, i'm going to build myself a cockpit, and use a 50" HDTV unless someone else needs it, in which case i'll use a 26" SDTV.

Its actually quite frustruting :p I learnt how to weld a couple of years ago for Formula SAE to build a race car, now there's so many things I want to make (top of the list is a racing cockpit) but I can't afford a welder :(

Tell ya what, if someone wants to sponsor me for a welder, I'll build them a racing cockpit of any design for the cost of the materials/gas (out of any material I can weld) :p

While that sounds tempting..and possibly a good deal if I do say so myself, I fear the shipping charges from AUS to US would be the death of such a request... :)

Besides, I would need to fly out there so you could take measurements and make me a truly 'custom' racing cockpit! ;-)

However, should I get the urge to take you up on such an offer, I shall surely be open to paying high dollar if the work you perform is truly as good as I believe it to be.

I will initially be playing with a controller non dual shock but I will buy a wheel stand pro and use my G25 on my couch. I cant afford to buy a full blown cockpit. Im in a small one bedroom house also so I cant fit a full cockpit in any of the rooms. Also I will be using my 40" Full HD Samsung TV.

Also someone said GT5 :P has only 180 degrees rotation. Is that true? I havent played it with my G25 yet. Anyway GT4 has 900 degrees fo my G25 so im sure GT5 will be the same.

Brand new 19 inch HDTV (trust me, any bigger and I couldn't fit it in my room), and a DFGT. I'll use my DFP if I can't afford the DFGT in time, so the TV is first and most important :sly:

Im stretching my budget as far as i can so i dont mave money for an HDTV, if i get one of those i'd need to sell a kidney to afford what im scheming.

Im planning on getting Raceseats Evo+G27

I still use the wingman...

But most of the time I use the DS3.

There are a lot of wheelmen on this site. Is it really that much better? I can't bring myself to spend $250 on a wheel then another couple hundred on a wheelstand, because I can't drive hooked to a freaking coffee table.

Wheels are TOTALLY worth it. "Hole Nother Level" You don't have to spend a paycheck on decent wheel setups.

My Logitech Wingman was the first compatible powered wheel for GT3. It predates the official Gran Turismo Driving Force Wheel by a couple months. You can pick one up used for less than $50 US bucks..

The Driving Force GT is the latest Official GT wheel. It retails for $150, but I've seen them sell for $99..

Pricing will probably go down more before Christmas..

The expensive wheels you're thinking of are the G25 and newly announced G27 Racing Wheels. These are awesome but are over-kill for casual racing imo.

I'm now up to speed with the awesome cool kids crowd I guess.
I'm now the proud owner (or soon to be tomorrow or the day after) of the Playseat Evolution + G25 + G25 shifter holder, yay! :D

Same color ;)

Using a Sony Bravia 720p tv. I'll buy a 1080p at christmas I think :O)

Hopefully I'll have myself a cockpit built and my Fanatec GT3RS Clubsport by the time GT5 comes out. To be used with either a 42" HDTV or a 24" LCD monitor.

I have a G25 that I use on a card table. :( I will probably get a Wheelstandpro for Christmas though, maybe even before. I also use an HD Acer H243H monitor and sometimes the family TV, a Samsung 61'' LED.

ill be using the same setup im using now with GT5P for GT5. That is this..

On my 43" Pioneer Plasma TV. Only thing that may change is if i upgrade to a G27 and buy another playseat for player 2 :)

I have a TV especially for my S3, an old one though, so no HD for me :(. I have a G2 as well, and i'm considering the wheelstand pro now, I need something cheap and that is not hell to move around.

Sometimes six-axis, and then when I get one, sometimes with a G25. Occasionally on a 30inch SD tv in my room, sometimes on the 44inch HD TV in the living room.
I have to get a PS3 first though

I'll start off with the six-axis, but i really really need to get my arse in gear and practice on my DFP.

I should also really learn to drive manual too :dunce:

I'll grab a logitech DFGT wheel (unfortunately not the G25/27 yet)
I'll seat on a homemade racing station (thanks a lot daddy)
I'll see a 150 inches screen (720p projector)
I'll listen to a 5.1 system

I have a cupboard in one of my bedrooms i want to convert into a racing station (open door, pull out seating part of the frame, jump in and race away) What i need to know is if there are any frames that 'slide in/fold in' on themselves (seat tucks up to wheel).
If not, my question would be, are there any schematics/blueprints/technical drawings of existing models (or even home made) i could mull over before i dig the welder out the shed? Or just general words of wisdom for tackling this project.

Only one way to play any racing game. G25 with clutch. Flappy paddles only acceptable if the car ur driving has flappy paddles. 42'' full hd sony bravia, with panasonic 7.1 hd surround sound
