How do you determine if your getting kicked out of a room/race or if your having computer conection issues.
I triedsearch but didnt find anything.

Same thing happens to me for some reason. But I get different types. Once i got kicked and it said "you have been kicked" but most of the time it says " You have been disconnected from the server"

Thanks just started online racing and do all i can to be clean. From what I read people will boot for no reason but it would be nice to know if them or syystem.
Dont want to waste time trying to get back in that room if it was from being host booted

It won't let you back in if you got kicked. It will give you a pop-up stating you are not allowed in this room. If you lost connection, you still may have issues getting back in. Those little bars you see on the side of the screen when selecting a room to join will probably be dead, meaning you've lost all connection with this room. It's a bit like a cellphone. The higher the bars, the better the connection.

Yesterday evening I got the "You have been disconnected from the server" so many times it was unbelievable, in the end I just gave up, the last time I got so many issues was playing Prologue! I had NAT Type 2, 85% wireless strength, 15mb download & 850k upload, go figure.

:(

For some reason the GT5 server seems to be very glitchy with wireless connection, regardless of the signal strength. I had been using wireless on all other online games with no problems, but had been losing connection with GT5 online just as you described. I switched to wired connection and it seemed to help alot. There is also a 'cache' you should be cleaning out often, found at the GT5 main menu, next to 'GT mode' and 'Arcade', click on 'options' and 'clean cache'

I have my PS3 hard wired with ethernet cord. Before the PSN went down I used to run my own room with 12 people racing and everything smooth no problems. Now I can't even race online myself with getting the "disconnected from server" message. But I can play Madden 11 and NBA Live with no problems. I have UPNP set as Available, NAT-2, Hardwired, solid connection what gives. I think it's Gran Turismo servers. I have been playing this game since the day it came out with absolutely no problems until now. HELP!

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

Yeah apparently it definitely tells you if you've been deliberately kicked by the host. Never happened to me. But it happened to my poor bf in his first actual online racing experience. :(
He said it actually told him something like "You have been kicked".

I wonder now if he'll ever bother with it again, because afterward, he kept asking me why they didn't tell him why they kicked him. :( I'd seen his driving, and he wasn't doing anything inappropriate that I saw.
My bf's an older man, let's say - mature, and certainly not a trouble-maker. LOL. So it's not like it would be for some gross misconduct shenanigans. haha.

I wish there was some sort of quick "reason for" list a host can choose from, to let people know why they're kicked. Though people would probably misuse that too, lie, & cause even more confusion.

Because sometimes people kick people for reasons that wouldn't make much sense to most people.

This comes to mind:

how do i become a better host? should i keep on kicking the guys below level 21? do i continue to make spots for the guys on my friends list? if my buddy cant get into the room, do i kick someone i dnt know? i tend too boot the crappiest driver in the room, to make space for my buds, my bud list is almost full, and thats alot of kicking! I get alot of hatemail

So if you get kicked & wonder why because you didn't do anything wrong - just keep that in mind. ;)
