How do you unlock the Top Gear Test Track?

I have done the Vw mini bus race which is a real pain best i can do is bronze here!!

The Lotus best I got was 2nd for silver! still not unlocked the track do I need to get Gold on both events??

I unlocked it when I got gold on the first one. Just keep trying. Its extremely difficult and can be frustrating, but its not impossible.

Plus it gives you a good understanding of the track itself. Once I finally got gold with the elise I felt like I could go around that track in my sleep.

Yeah, you need gold in the bus race. Pretty amazed that you can get silver with the Elise's but only bronze on the bus?! I think most people would agree the Lotuses are waaaay harder.

I think it's because it takes more patience to do the Samba Bus.

race is so slow, and the bus doesn't move...

the whole race feels like it's FOREVER!

you need lot of patience to run that race right.

The Samba Bus challenge takes a very fine balance of agression and patience when driving. It's very tempting to try and jump ahead several cars at the turns because the AI drivers slow down to a crawl, but then, if you hit the wrong pylon, hit a bus (or a bus hits you) you get DQ'ed.

Because it does seem like it takes forever, you actually have a decent amount of time to get to the front. I think it's important to be more agressive in the beginning in terms of passing other drivers, then start dialing it down a bit on the 2nd lap.
