Definitely, I completed the mission hall and it probably took me a good 5 days or so of gameplay, to be honest GT4 is the only computer game I've played in a long time now, 18 months or so, but back when I used to play games more often, I used to be able to complete most of them in less than 5 days! And I've probably spent about another 4 or 5 days getting my 53 golds on licenses, and I'm still working on that, and anticipate at least as much again for the rest of iA and Special. I think in a way I prefer this to the racing, its challenging me a lot more, I think when I go back to racing I'm not going to enter a race unless the A-Spec points is more than 50, make it a bit more interesting, I prefer the game to challenge me.
 
I think I'm at like 8 now. I have more silver than anything. Went back to redo some of my bronze records and got a random gold on one of the snow courses and Laguna Seca on Super! Surprised the hell outta me!
 
My gold tally is up to 63 now. Just got gold on iA 15 the merc 190 round the ring, beat the gold team by 11 seconds. I can't beleive how slow the pace car went through parts of the track, I went into the back of him underbraking in about 6 or 7 different places before getting the full lap done! I could have been at least another 5 seconds quicker without the pace car in the way.

But just tried iA16 (The Nissan R92CP on a section of Le Manns). Bl**dy hell. Nearest I can get is about 2.5 seconds off the gold time, coming out of the first corner onto the straight I'm about 0.3/0.4 secs in front of the demo car when watching the replays and I'm as quick as he is through the corners, but the car just kills it when I try and accelerate out of any of those 2nd gear corners after the long straight. The amount of wheelspin is ridiculous, I tried staying in 3rd and it reduced the wheelspin a lot although it was still there, but it loses you so much time when it is really quite a bit of speed from what speed I should be doing in 3rd. How can I avoid this wheelspin? I watched the replay and the guy there is throttling about 3/4 when exiting the corner, even when I'm throttling half the wheelspin is unbearable, its like hes driving a different car. Don't get me wrong I love it when the ASM is off, but turing the TCM off on a 900hp car is lunacy isnt it?
Any tips?
 
Hmm I'm up to 33 golds now, all the rest are silver. Those 1 lap runs are giving me a hard time, even on the B license. Hope to get to 40 to vote in the next space of the poll!
 
To me, the liscense tests are a formality. I don't enjoy them very much and I just try to get through them as quickly as possible so that I may concentrate on the game its self.

Don't get me wrong though, I do appreciate those of you that can gold all the tests as they are very tough to gold.
 
As of last night I have 72 Gold and 8 Silver. I'll have 80 very soon.... well at least 79. Also 33 of 34 missions. I love the Licenses and Missions, miss the time trials.
 
I allways did licenced when needed and everthing better then passed was wasted time for me, untill they where all that was left... and now with B-spec well licence isnt that importent any more .. but still i got all but the 2 last tests in Special .. and i started to play licence for silver or better .. so that comes out to 1/3 gold and 2/3 silvers

Phew, just beat that last bi*** of a test round Le Manns in iA. I nearly broke my ds2 on several occasions! I think it's nearly put me off the R92CP for life!!! Definitely the hardest license to gold for me so far, took me about 4 hours! But the really weird thing is, when I beat it, it was by 0.95 seconds?!?! If I could beat it by that much why did it take me so long!!!aaaargh! Oh well at least its done now.

Just the specials to go.
 
Only done up to IA, got 63G and 1 B, that is NBR which I will do next, Just done two laps to get the IA licence first time round (so I could go off and do SCH and some Missions to give me breaks from 'golding'). Also got 3G and 1 Silver in the CBs.

IA-16. Usual stuff practise, practise, practise. I used manual and never used 2nd gear. Sometimes if I got wheelspin in 3rd I would back off the gas for a moment and that would cure.

End of the straight, brake when you see the yellow humps and take corner in 3rd.
Next two kinks are flat out.
When you see the white curbs brake, drop to 4th, get over to the right and briefly accelerate again.
Last two bends: brake approaching 2nd last and drop to 3rd, accelerate again but carefully, don't blast it. Sometimes got to 4th but on my gold lap stayed in 3rd. Took last crner in 3rd tapping the gas through the bend and accelerating to the line.

I had many sub 1.45s before getting gold - took 2 hours, but my gold time was 0.35s under the required time.

42 I will go for more, once I've completed all the endurance races
the model T will be mine - only so I can spend 2 hours taking it around the ring :)

I will update this post, once I've got more

and the weekend is nearly up on us so that should help

Yeah, I Bspec'd all but one of the endurance races, which adds a lot of mileage and Bspec'd most of the manufacturer races since they were kind of boring. I was eager to check out all the different cars you could win. I did about 96% of the game with the DS2, and didn't get the wheel until then. And since the wheel makes the game a whole lot more fun, I'll definately be going back and squeeze out as many Aspec points as I can now that I have 100% :)

I had the game for a week before my DFP turned up, I haven't used my DS since.
I've only got 31.xx something percent - re-racing to up my a-spec (if its less than 100 re-running it) golding and doing the missions.

whats the most a-spec points anyone has got ???

plus I'm playing PAL (UK release) so some of the times are harder. I just say bring it I like a challange.

hopefully I'll be in the 80 golds club before I'm in the 100 % club thou

If you use the Dodge RAM 1500 pickup truck you can get 200 in some of the races and win pretty easily. Other than using that I think the most I've ever got is about 165.

I'm trying to gold the special license, was just playing on S-1, I got to within 4 tenths of the gold time, but I lost half a second to my ghost in one of the midfield sectors, so I know I can do it, just a matter of sticking it all together in one lap. But I've only spent about 15 minutes on it so far, so thats ok, hopefully it won't take too long to hook it all up. I've got a feeling that golding this license is gonna be nasty though.
