Aye, from what I've read here on the board, you're one busy lady. Respect.

How you getting on with GT3, by the way?

Thanks :D I haven't played in a few weeks b/c I've been working a lot and I STILL don't have a memory card. I'm hoping we'll have them at my job by the next time I work. If not, I'm gonna just buy one somewhere else.

True, but I don't know how good it is for my PS2 to stay on indefinitely.

Cool. Shame about the lack of gossip potential, but cool nonetheless.

Pic trade?

Well the PS2 has internal fans that keep it cool, so it will establish a temperature at which it's happy. In all seriousness, sometimes it is better to never switch something off, PCs and hi-fi equipment especially. I had to spend som ewhile educating my wife into not unplugging everything from the wall.

I had to convince my mom that the computer wouldn't burst into flames if we left it on when we left the house.. lol. She still sometimes shuts off the power cord, but I don't know how to explain to her that she needs to stop b/c I don't know exactly why it's not good. Maybe you can explain to me.

I am back people! The power around the neighborhood went out!

Tatinee, did you mean you *have* 2 kids, or *did have* 2 kids, in which case ...

I *do have* two kids. Like I said.. they're on the sofa watching Cartoon Network. Being very quiet, I might add!

Almost there...800 away.

It's because when you switch the equipment on, there are moving parts, like hard drives etc, that establish a point at which they're happy - think of it as a rhythm. Once at that point they can run indefinitely. If a hard drive is running but idle, it's better for it to remain in that state rather than to stop, and then have to start again.

With electronics, as you switch them on and off again, there can be surges in the voltage that can cause the chips and circuits to trip out of their usual operating environment, and that is bad. This is why 80% of PC warranty claims are in the first 30 days. Plus there's the whole temperature thing again.

You should always switch your monitor off though, but your PC should be able to do that for you.

Hello Tatinee I am back. Is anybody in here besides Tazz and I going for a certain number?
