I've heard that about Demon. I'm with Telewest. It's pretty good - I've had a US site measure throughput as 512K download, 256K upload, which is reasonable enough.

My boss is arguing that if we're working from home, the company should install broadband into our houses, and then pay the sub. I'd be well chuffed if that happened!

We used to have RedHotAnt, but it was always crashing then eventually they shut down. Demon is crap sometimes it freezes and you have to shut down the connection and then connect again for it to work. And considering I can only download mp3's at 8k/s I think its time for a new connection.

Never heard of RedHotAnt! 8K/s isn't too bad for an MP3 over a 64K link. That said, I'd better not tell you about my transfer speeds!

It was another one of Richard Branson's companies. You paid like £30 to join and then that was it, no more payments at all.

Hey there GG. What's goin on?

The usual. Drinking beer, listening to tunes, writing the code for my upcoming Fantasy F1 competition. It's a pretty good state of affairs for me. :)

I'm having problems with it MistaX, it keeps on re-buffering all the time, I guess it must be my connection. :( :(

Not really the sort of business model which would facilitate ongoing network investment!

Yeah, I'm just listening to music and surfing the net.

BOOOOOOO, i lowerd it to 56k now....

Fine now, and I'm on a higher connection than 56K users, so just think what it would be like for them.

Actually its still doing it every 2 minutes or so. :(

I'm on cable, and it's £25 per month, and I think that's about the cheapest you can get it in the UK.

Don't forget MistaX that we live in a backwards country communications-wise!

I dunno about DSL, but I can't get cable coz I live well out of the way of any towns.
I think DSL penetration is even worse than cable... :(
