I have tried it and tbh did not like it much, but there you go.

I have nothing against pot smokers and think that it should be made legal.

Tried it a couple of times about ten years ago - I was always drinking when I tried it, and it had pretty much the same effect as smoking tobacco does when you don't smoke - massive headrush that was like drinking six or seven beers in about ten seconds flat without the vomiting!

Problem is - I generally prefer to acheive that state by actually drinking the beers (although over a longer period). I also found I would wake in the morning with a throat feeling like I'd been eating barbed wire.

I see now that the popular myth of pot being 'healthier' than tobacco is being dispelled - one only need see the number of rock stars dying of throat and mouth cancers in their 50's to figure that one out.

I've no issue with it being legalised provided it is treated the same as other recreational drugs - and driving under the influence of pot attracts the same penalties as DUI.

I can almost completely echo what vat_man says, except it didn't really affect me that much when I tried it.

I guess the long term physical consequences of smoking pot could be as bad as cigaraettes. But you gotta remember that people who get emphysema or cancer from smoking smoked a lot and for a long period. Pot smokers don't smoke 20 (a pack of) joints a day, and, unless you're Rastafarian probably only one, or less. So the danger is practically non existent.

I smoke pot. It's funny because some of my friends like to get sloppy drunk and look down on smoking pot. I have never puked, gotten in a fight, fallen and hurt myself, or got a DUI because of pot. I like to smoke and go for a nice hike up in Northern AZ in the mountains... or Play GT :p

I haven't reached for weed in over 5 years. I have no intentions of returning to any recreational drugs. I don't even like taking medicine unless absolutely required.

I think you have to realize that over-use of pot does have a long-term effect, I've seen plenty of friends and co-workers become lifeless dolts due to overusing pot. Once you realize it doesn't have the same effect as it once had, it's time to quit.

Heh, cottonmouth.

I smoked it for a while about a year or so ago. Last time I've had it is Decmber 31, 2001.Unfortunately I had it in my system during a random drug test for sports and lost my varsity letters for hockey and cross country that year. Although it was a lot of fun, I think that it is pretty dumb, and I probably won't be smoking the reefer again until at least college, if ever.

a quote from willy nelson if it hadnt been for pot i'd be dead!!!
he smoked 3-4 packs a day. and drank whiskey all day long. he quit smokin&drinking when he started smokin pot. and he has been smokin pot eversince. now stick that in your pipe and smoke it!!!

Willie Nelson also owed a lot of money to the IRS.

Every pothead finds it tough to quit; I did. But you wake up one morning and realize you are not reliant on anything, nothing at all...it's a wonderful feeling.

BTW, what's with the filter-tip in the animated GIF? That's not pot smoking!

im a casual pot somker. i may smoke 3 joints a week. pot for me is something better than beer in that with a beer, you need about 3 midstrength beers to put you in a "mallow" state. pot is alomst instantanious.

in the state south australia, you can grow 2 plants legally. if anything more than 2 plants is found on your residence, you get charged with intent to traffic.

i think if all states followed the same thing, there wouldnt be the problem there is now.

Like most people, I've tried it though I must say that I don't think it needs to be legalised for any purposes, medical included.

I just sound so conservative!

It should be legalized because it's place in the spectrum of drug danger is way down at like 0.5. Alcohol and cigarettes are infinitely more dangerous.

Or criminalize alcohol and cigarettes.

Oh, wait... I forgot the government gets rich off of those.

Well, wether this is a good thing or a bad thing I smoke pot on a pretty regular basis. It works out to me getting high once a day, but the reality is, that every second day I'll get high twice because I am hanging out with a friend who smokes weed or we have some weed.

I dont crave it or ever think of wanting it, unless I am with friends and I want to loosen up before going to the bar, or having it with some chicks in my hottub is a good pasttime. But whenever I do have it, I always feel really good and it makes everyone around you just happy to be alive.

PS (Some) Girls like guys who smoke weed because they see them as wise and not some drooling stumbling drunk idiot. Having a conversation on weed is also one of the most entertaining things to do.

One other thing, I live in Calgary Alberta Canada, Alberta has won High Times Magazine's Cannabis cup for three years in a row. How can I help but keep a habit of smoking the best chronic in the entire world!!!!!

I had a huge depth charge session in Victoria BC and their weed is like fairy weed. Barely gets you high. the weed in Alberta is like ****ing crack sometimes, it leaves you in a state of complete mental dissaray, you dont even know what you are doing alot of the time. For anyone who gets a chance to get their hands on some Alberta weed, DO IT. I assure you, it IS the best weed this little planet has to offer.
