i just think that it's too hard to get excited about a sport where people run around a huge field with barely anyone ever having control of the ball and the looming uncertainty of a point even being scored. at least let the players knock the sh:censored:t out of each other.
That's a sad reflection of America in general. Don't get me wrong, I love your country, that's why I chose to live here, but the fact that you idolise sports in which violent conduct is seen as a positive aspect isn't a good thing in my view.
Hell, at least in a soccer match each one of those 11 players has a fair chance of touching the ball, aren't there about 80 players on an American Football team who aren't ever supposed to get near the ball, just knock other players over?

Proposing introducing more violence into sport isn't good, what do you fancy next? How about tennis with live grenades? Or athletic events in a minefield?
The fact that showing a part of Janet Jackson's nipple for a fraction of a second caused more interest than the entire 3 and bit hours of superbowl final says a lot!
Quite how part of a naked man or woman can be deemed offensive in "the land of the free"
(free to see only what W wants you to see!) and yet an abundance of corpses, machine gun riddled bodies and gunfights galore graces the TV screens of the nation night after night as "good wholesome entertainment", is way beyond me!
American football was a sport designed to give an abundance of fat kids something to be good at!
Again Baseball, another American icon that's just failed to get interest from the rest of the world. (Its called Rounders everywhere else and is played by high school girls!!!

) Go on, take the bait.....
(*predict retort along the lines of same thing with soccer in US!!*)
We could get into a protracted discussion about soccer hooliganism, but that's not associated with events on the pitch, just a small faction of simpleminded thugs.
Anyway, we're way off topic here, so perhaps we'll just agree to disagree..... or continue this discussion elsewhere.
* puts **** stirring spoon away!*
So, how many copies did GT4 sell today?

How do you simulate cricket without tea-time? It's impossible!

I know! Can you imagine the button combinations you'd need to cut the crusts off the cucumber sandwiches, while ensuring the tea doesn't stew? It'd be a nightmare!!
