I thought it sounded like "Hondai" in English, or just me. (in Japan, it was pronounced as [hjúndài])

Anyway, nice car.

After playing the teasing game, Hyundai is finally showing us their exciting N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo concept.

It marks the inauguration of Hyundai's N performance division and takes the shape of an ultimate racecar featuring a hydrogen fuel cell system that delivers a combined 871 bhp (650 kW) thanks to the dual fell stacks providing 670 bhp (500 kW) while the super capacitor system pumps out an extra 201 bhp (150 kW) by using energy recuperation while braking. All that power is delivered to the road through four in-wheel motors that according to Hyundai ensure “uncompromised traction.”

It should be an absolute rocket taking into account it weighs just 972 kg (2,142 lbs) thanks to a rigid CFRP monocoque and the lightweight fuel cell stacks that have a compact size. The N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo is billed to have a power-to-weight ratio that matches some of the most exotic supercars out there and it also has a powerful soundtrack thanks to the air blower's turbine that spins at 200,000 rpm which generates a "distinct racecar roar."

Needless to say, the concept was developed primarily for the Gran Turismo 6 video game on PlayStation 3 and it will be available soon as free downloadable content.

You know what? This is actually turns out to be far more sensible. You have seen an approx 1000 hp hybrid FF car that weighs 870kg roaming around Le Mans. You've also seen cars like Deltawing.

Kudos for Hyundai for providing a sensible LMP1 racecar. Hope they can realized it IRL.

Soo...871hp x 972kg...it's fairly heavier than the LM55, but more powerful....with some BoP on the Mazda side (ballast) and a bit of power limiter on both, a nice competition could be set up

Ooh, I really like that. Very B2 stealthy.

[Edit]

I like the available colours too. I'm seeing (using the imagination) Gulf and Hankook. Not sure about the red and white though. Any suggestions?

It looks amazing, and I love it in that #25 red and white colour scheme. Really loving the Vision GT project so far, can't wait to see this in game. Plus, I would expect the "distinct racecar roar" to carry over to the game thanks to the new audio system VGT cars seem to use.

I know some real cars wouldn't go amiss (although I expect that any significant new road cars PDI are modelling are being saved for GT7), but the VGT project is itself a fantabulous idea.

nose reminds be a bit of the stub nosed Williams "Tusk Car" - so many colours and numbers - Could be the new Nascar

Love the "NO STEP" sticker at the back (And the front!)

What I find most interesting is that the pictures for this VGT aren't branded GT6. Hopefully next GT game will be announced this year.

Could the update be launched at the same time as the Tokyo Game Show? It starts 17th of this month, just like the Frankfurt autoshow.
