Nice job! Good to see the very younger generation coming through the ranks.

How come I can only get Silver on that one, and someone who is 1/5 my age can get Bronze. :)

Well done little girl. Well done from Melbourne Australia. My 4yo want to challenge you to a race. But first she needs to learn that turning the DS3 like a wheel does not turn the car and sounding the horn is not why we play.

Thanks for the embed Hippie... it did my head in.
Glad to help.

I've now noticed she was barefooted, and appears to be rolling the throttle rather than braking. Was that instinct or a helpful teacher?

It is when your taking a sharp turn putting even more pressure on the joystick! A race doesn't go by that I don't honk at least once.

The barefoot bit is because we are a shoe free household. The rolling of the throttle is partly a technique she's been practicing and partly the fact that that was her first time using the Force GT wheel. She had been using the G27 and used to rest her left foot on the brake but with the Force GT she can't because the pedal has no resistance (so she brakes without wanting to). Not being able to rest the foot on the pedal really threw her off so she would just not brake....

Fair enough. Takes some time to get it right, but once you do, it's a very effective technique indeed. A lot of time can be had in corners with it. Good on 'er... better to learn young than old 👍

Awesome!!! I see a future car racer!!!!!!! Just make sure she gets out there to COMPETE to WIN.......not "Compete against the guys" or "show these guys" etc etc.

I get so tired of that crap in sporting events when women get involved. it seems like it's more about trying to show up the guys rather than competing for the win. Guys don't go out there and pat themselves on the back when placing above any women in the event and say "we sure showed those women what's up"

The game hands out bronze trophies just for showing up. My dog can get bronze trophies. The real trophies don't kick in until silver.

An example of time requirements for trophies for a hypothetical event:
Gold - 1:00.000
Silver - 1:05.000
Bronze - 59:59.999

It might take some effort to get in under a minute or even a minute and five seconds for the silver, but you can push your car around the track within an hour for the bronze.

(Okay, I exaggerated a bit on that bronze time. More realistic for the game would be like 1:20.000.)

I hate seeing female drivers held to a different standard, like "She does great for a woman" or "She's the fastest female driver." I hate seeing reporters going to 31st on the starting grid to interview Danica Patrick because she has boobs when a male driver starting near the back wouldn't attract any attention. Female drivers need to earn attention for doing well, and not for being female.

He was only making reference to what I said. In no way was he or myself talking down to this awesome 7 year old. It was more or less based off of the sexist attitude that a LOT but not all women have when they compete against men, it's not about the win it's more about "showing these men" or "proving to these men" etc etc

I was just letting this father know of the negative way that women go about competing "against the guys" instead of just COMPETING in general so that he can let his girl know that pure competition is just that...every man and woman competing for the goal, prize, win, etc etc. not a gender competition.

That's fantastic. This video made my day...

Sometimes, me and wife talk about babies and stuff (we're married for about 4 years) and the talk is: If its a boy? It'll love cars... and if it's a girl? Well, she'll love cars too.

This video just made everything clear. Thanks for sharing!
