That's the way it goes ... I didn't even get all golds, or even all silvers on B. I guess I should go back and get golds on all of them so I can score those extra prize cars.

Can't wait to see your second day's results!

Hehe,thanks... I wouldnt have taken me as long if I wouldnt have missed that B-8 Exam by .005 . It took me quite some time to do that one, lol. Well, today when I get home from school/practice, I'm gonna give a try at the A license (I only tried the first one last night once and got silver, so it cant be too hard (yet). The mazda it gives you is pretty nice, I haven't had to tune it up for the first 5 races (championship 1, and 2/3's of the 2nd one), but for the last race in the 2rd series, I think I'm gonna have to either tune up the mazda just a bit, learn to drive a bit better, or race a few more easy ones, and buy be a good ol' Mustang. But hey, maybe the reason I couldnt win last night was because it was getting close to 1am in the morning, lol... Well, thanks for the compliments (who knows what day 2 has in store, lol)

Congrats! I got to about 90% in the game and decided I'd start over, only use manual trans, and not buy cars. Got all golds in B, except the first and last so far. Missed both by about 0.02 seconds. Oh well.

WHAT? You got to 90% and decided to start over? WHY WOULD YOU DO SUCH A THING?

Well, I'd done all the races except Like the Wind and F1. Didn't feel like doing enduros. When I started, I was pretty bad, this is the first racing game I've done. And I used auto trans. So I decided to start over, use MT, turn off the driving aids, and win any cars I needed instead of buying them.

Another thing is that I don't have big chunks of time, and those 10 race, 20 lap championships were taking over a week to get through.

It's about having fun, and not "Beating the Game", anyway.

I just started in a series here, the WRC, and it looks to be a blast.

Rick

ps. I did save the 90% game on another card, though. I need the cars and circuits in Arcade for the WRC series.

Well, day 2 I really didn't do any A-licenses (2 golds in about 10 minutes, since I only got to play for about an hour or two), so I decided to win: the first two easy championships, the FR, and the NA, and I'm half way through the Stars and Stripes. I did buy a very nice Mustang though to help me out with the Stars and Stripes. The only track giving me trouble so far is Leguna Seca (spelling?). I'm having big probs stayin on the road with 420+ hp. I guess I just got to get used to going faster than 100mph in the Miata LS =) I was also considering buying some decent tires, but instead I think I'm gonna go for the 47,000+ Super soft tires. I hope theyre pretty good, because it's gonna take me 9 races at one of the NA courses (5k each) to get a pair. Plus I've decided that I'm not gonna sell any of the cars that I earn unless I get duplicates later on in the game. That way I can say I'll have all the cars in the game.... Lame Truenos =/

I hate you. :grumpy:

J/K! :D So what exactly is the key to getting a gold with the last test? I've been trying for weeks now, and have only gotten as close as a couple hundredths. :banghead:

Firstly well done. I did the same thing as well just to win the MX-5 so i didn't waste any valuable cash at the start buying a $hite car.

Secondly when you say you won all Golds on your first day, is that the very first time you've played any of the GT games including GT1 & GT2 on PS1 or the first time you played GT3 on the PS2? ;)

OHH thats a relief, makes a lot of sence too

Well, I attempted the A license last night (the night of my last post), because I couldn't sleep and I figured I'd give GT3 a go. I ended up getting all but 3 golds on the A license, and the best part is, is that the ones I didn't get gold on, I got silver my first try, so I don't think they'll be much of a challenge. When I said that A was harder than B, I was wrong.... A is either alot easier, or I've gotten ALOT better (who knows =). I should have all golds in A within at least the next hour (unless I attack the refridgerator). As for my past experience with the GT series..... I played GT2 for the first time sometime last summer for about maybe 5 min on a HORRIBLE old tv, and I've played GT3 before at a friends for about 5 min also, because it was a rental and he was going to take it back and I asked if I could race a few races before he returned it. Besides all that, thats all the experience I've had with the series, and heck, I'm even new to the PS2, considering that I only realy started using one last monday (few times before at store demos). And for you risingsun77, just sit there for a long time, do it over and over, make sure you have the ghost car ON and after an hour or earlier, take a break, than repeat. I ended up beating that test on gold by only .002 seconds. Man was I happy! The A license final exam is WAAAAAY easier for some reason. Well, hope that helps ya out man, and if ya have any questions, email me at jtaylor@gavtron.com or send me a Private Message (email preffered). Thanks for all the compliments guys =)

But I have been sitting in front of the test for hours... :weird:

Personally, I find the ghost car distracting. Thanx for the pointers! :D

Good choice there my friend. I'm doing this myself now.. I had 75% on a game but started it all over again 'cause I sold to many cars that I won! ..so now I'm at like 20% but HEY(!)! I've got 4 ALTEZZA LM RACE CARS now(all in different colors) :D :D :D

Well, I did end up getting all of the golds in the A license before I went to bed last night. For some reason it seemed alot easier than the B license. I also just hurried through and got all bronze in the IA and IB, and all bronzes in Rally, except for the last one (hey, I was tired and it looked like it'd probably keep me awake longer). That Mazda RX8 is nice, but not as nice as my Mustang SVT Cobra R =) As for the ghost bothering you... try not to let it intimidate you, and once it gets ahead of you at any time, and yo know it's gonna be hard to catch back up, just click on try again. Believe me, I had to click try again MANY MANY times. Just hope you're not off of the gold by like .001 or .002, becaus it makes you really frusterated (hapened to me alot, lol).

No, it's not about the ghost frustrating me...it's about when the ghost is right in front of me and I can't see anything, and I don't corner very well when I can't see the track in front of me. I don't use the external views either, I can't judge distance or steering angle from that perspective.

Well than (since I use the same view your using)... Don't let Mr. Ghost get ahead of ya, and that should let ya see the road a bit more. If he gets ahead, restart and make sure you're ahead, then you'd have a better chance of passin the test with a Gold. Like I said, if ya have any more ?'s please feel free to ask =)
