Lets allow people with race cars and racing soft tires in to drift with us!
Who else feels this way? xD

People don't like others using race cars and such because it usually indicates a person either a.) being an idiot who just tries to race or b.) a person who is learning to drift but still has no clue

There is an easy solution create your own room .
Good luck getting people to join with your cs limit lol.

just ranting guys ^^
wanted to see how other people feel aswell
only the public rooms posted in gtplanet drift forums are worthy of joining:/
every time i join any other one theres always silly nannies!

Explain to me how am I supposed to drift LMP cars with CS tyres? If I nerf the power all the way down, sure, but if not... I'm going to be causing more problems than if I was using Sports or Racing tyres, right?

You could just turn off contact to solve it all... And instead of yelling or cursing at new players (drifters), why not help them? That's how I got my start with drifting, someone helped me out.

thats the reason i posted here!

IMO The majority of Open Lobby's just love to power drift..:yuck: There are in my eyes three main forms of Drifting that goes on in GT5..

  • drift
  • dirt tracking
  • powersliding

Most Real D1 Style & Tandem Drifting goes on in private lobbys by people who know what there doing and can drift as one. ;) Its a closed community and its like the black art !!

I hate the majority of public rooms... Open lobby's are mostly just having a bash. Not really a place were people here hang out full time in-game for Competition drift practice and unspoilt fun..

Hardcore Drifting is Underground... Not open in the lobbys for all and sundry to drop in and say Hi five ;))

No lie, but I was kicked at a Suzuka room for to much angle... I was supposedly going too slow. Now anyone that knows my Z4 knows its not slow. Lol.

Some people never realize that speed doesn't matter in drifting and no one cares about speed.

Luckily,i never found problem on a Public Drift Room :)
Except , sometimes i found people join Drift Room , take out the car , park in gravel and chat , and the Room master is parking at Gravel and do nothing too 👎

Unless it's because they're crashing, you can't call them noobs for being slow.

The way I see it if you can tandem a slower car in your car, you belong in the car. If not chose a new car. I've Rode the door in my z4 on multiple cars, from s chassis to corvettes and vipers. I mean we all learn, but if you can't handle that speed you don't belong in the car. And here's the other thing, like Zach said, speed does not matter. If your going 100 mph with little to no angle and say someone else is going 65 mph and has massive angle who would you pick? So if you get kicked because you were going to fast ( most likely hitting people) choose something slower or increase your angle. It's a pretty simple thing to do. If your following and the person is slower brake or throw on more angle. If the person is pulling away you lessen angle to a certain extent, you don't want to let off too much angle or it looks like your straightening.

Public rooms would be that much better if drivetrain restrictions were displayed in the Open Lobby in addition to tire, PP, and power restrictions. I don't know how many times I join one with tires restricted to CH, CM, or comfort only, and am slapped in the face with a few R35s, Lamborghinis, and even some RMed Civics.

That's a bad day

Enough said

So, just in case... if any of us open a drift lobby with all options correctly and keep it public?

Everytime i open one, i never go only private because i dont want to depend of my friendlist (witch by the way many of them have a huge fidelity to certain lobbies and barely never joins another ones, even with massive invitations).

I think we should make a limitation for all rooms that deal with GTP members. That way we know what lobbies are good and we don't waste our time finding rooms. 600 PP, no AWD/FWD, CH, all assist turned off except ABS. We should include something in the title of the room so we know it is a good room. Little things such as this will make the community better. Ideas for what to put in the title?

[GTP CHFR]? should be the standard right? I usually throw 'CH FR' on the rooms I make, but 'GTP' means allot for those who use it.

Tend to call rooms:

'JDM Drift [CH FR]'

Would:

'JDM Drift GTP [CHFR]' fit in the room name box?

Well you can really see rooms that are CH and such without it being in the Title. So, you could honestly remove that part. So something like "JDM Drift GTP" would work.

Yeah I joined a room the other day at autumn ring mini reverse, they were doing sections... I can understand on a bigger course, but autumn ring?

It would be good if all rooms run by people on GTP had an identifiable tag to show a GTP drift room. Something like a clan tag i.e. [GTP]

LOL I remember going in one of these lobbies. I was flabbergasted by the way everyone was drifting waaaaay faster than me, then I realized that I was the only one using C:H, all the others use higher-grip tires. The host didn't set any restrictions to the room. This guy who wanted to tandem with me, was using C:S and kept complaining that I was too slow. OF COURSE I'M SLOWER. "I'm using a harder compound tire than you, 🤬" I told him to switch to C:H, he didn't want to because C:H is slow. Wow. Impressive way of thinking. :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

thing is, these public drift lobbies don't have restrictions and regulations in them, which, in turn, leads to them being so disorganized. That's why I create my own lobbies.

Eric and Godfrey have a good idea on a solution. The only one issue I see tho, if a noob inherits the room, he can change the tires to whatever they want, you'd have to make it a fixed host. This will keep the room they way it was intended!

I can't count how many times I've seen CH in the name but see everyone in softs .
