I would have made it closer to the front if I wasnt at 328hp to start and a bit squirrely in some corners to lose the draft

but yeah my fastest lap was in the race at 1:44.8 and a couple of your qually times were under 1:44.5, HOW?? lol

Lol, usual i am thinking, HOW. starting at the back. But i was suprised to start 2nd, my best was 1:44.1. And i didn't do any big practise sessions like i usually do...

But you have 2 types of drivers, the first group are the guys who are trying to be fast and the other group of drivers are the ones that are fast and simply have the time to discuss the weather in the middle of the race.

Edit: Arkano, smiggy, where were you both today? :(

Sorry! I completely forgot about this, what makes it worse is that I even checked the thread when I woke up.

LOL The weather is a big topic man!

It was HOT yesterday and today it's pissing it down here... :P
Well, i'm happy with my 3rd especially with no practice with these cars on hard tyres. The spin out of the last corner costed me a lot too.

Congrats winning Biffy.

I watched some of my replay last night, did Biffy win? wow... he isn't even in the race on my screen.

I never had this problem before until recently in Arkano's room and now your room.

I did empty my system cache (I do it once a day and always before I join a room) I ping http://www.ukgame.com/ (closest thing I could find since I don't know your isp name) with less than 50ms and I restarted my ps3 system. Router was restarted the day before I raced and before that I never restarted it and still I have no problems elsewhere.

I had no lag in your room, but I didn't know Biffy was even in the room, I forgot to check the list before I entered the track. Since I was kicked constantly and wanted every minute of the qualify time to try practice some.

I don't know what to do, but I guess I have to withdraw from the championship if it's not going to be better next time 👎

I thought something weird was going on, because I read people mentioning you racing in chat, yet I did not see you atall in the race. I did see that you were trying to join however, and had constant dc's, and knew you were in the room during the race, just figured you were watching :odd:

In fact, just read the recent comments again... If I'm not mistaken, Kyaw was racing as well? Well I didn't see him in the race either, although I knew he was in the room. I know he was on the track during practice though, as I saw him driving around. GT Online is seriously messed up

In GT500 we had the same problem in practise right...?

The Lexus is overpowered, it needs limit at about 340bhp!

Going on now for some practice in my lounge.

@phil_75 Yeah I noticed in the replay, I've reduced it to 345 BHP for the moment now, I'll check to make sure it's OK in a min. ;)

Edit: Race 1 at Suzuka this Wednesday will be 28 laps, also the lexus must now be limited to 345 Bhp.

Just a heads up, but I might not be there tomorrow. Like I said before the time is majorly inconvenient for me.

The room is open now.

Qually starts at 6:45pm BST / 5:45pm GMT
race starts at 7pm BST / 6pm GMT
The race will be 28 laps.

Where is everyone?

Qually starts in 15 mins and we're missing smiggy, whoatemyrice, tempounplugged and rasg809. :(

Ah i am a bit unhappy about the race.

i didn't expected to follow the pace of other drivers becaus i did not had any practise this week, i had to work alot. I wanted to do some clean race at my own. I did have nice start but i missed my braking point at my favorite turns before the bridge so i thought my race was already over. but i was suprised i closed the gap whit Erik & Arkano, but befor the pits i did a small mistake and lost again some time. in my second stint i had Joey & Phil behind me whit better tyres. I was hoping we three could start some slipstream battle. Joey did a clean overtake on me but Phil just knocked me off the track like a cougar catches its prey? I was so frustrated i parked the car... :irked:

Considering I haven't even touched this car in almost 2-3 weeks, I was expecting to be last, especially with my horrendous qualy time

Could have had third, but I made two mistakes towards the end and Erik seized the opportunity. Great race Erik 👍

When you went off in the chicane I had just made my plans. stay behind you and finish you off at the end. And when you went off I was actually more concerned about my plan than happy I got a easy opportunity :scared:

Ive might have cut the chicane when you went off. it was very much smoke in that area :)

We had some intense laps there Arkano, was really fun 👍

Not a bad race, I qualified 2nd with a 2:06.7 and my best in the race was 2:05.030.
Got a crap start which put me last and was getting held up in the esses while stuck behind everyone as biffy and kyaw just pulled away then I ended up spinning out (don't remember which lap though) which lost me about 10 secs or so. :( I decided to push every lap from then on to catch up but it was wrecking my tyres so I had to do a 2 stopper and pit laps 9 and 18. After my 1st pitstop I was gaining on Maxi and slowly on phil, then the rest of the field made their stops and I took kyaw as he was coming out the pit lane and had a few laps battle with him and it seemed I was slowly pulling away but then the pushing was starting to take its toll on my tyres and because kyaw was on newer tyres he kept his speed as I was starting to slow and re-took me as I understeered into the gravel at spoon. I made my 2nd stop one lap before phil and was pushing really hard on my outlap to try and take him on the undercut but he just came out in front of me and from then on we had quite a good battle swapping places every now and then at the same time catching and overtaking Maxi. By lap 27 me and phil was catching Arkano while still battling but phil touched the grass and hit the wall at spoon. On the final lap I had caught up to Arkano and couldn't find a way pass untill the long straight after spoon but with 4th place on the line he was very defensive and was squeezing me onto the grass but I managed to hold it, we went through 130R and he was just in front but as we came out of the chicane I got a better exit and was very close to overtaking but he made a quick move to the left making me have to lift off the throttle and he took 4th place. :(
Overall it was a fun race. :)

I'll review the replay and post the standings tomorrow.

What are you on about?

What lap was this then?:ouch:

Btw just watched first 5 laps, it was Biffy's silly overtake on the esses pushing me wide that made me a bit peeved ( So much for "giving space" eh?) Then plastering himself to my bumper when I'm in front and looking to pass at every tiny gap, so I thought if he can play like that so can I.

Me , Kyaw and Biffy were all together and we did very well considering how close we were, and all as guilty as each other at going for gaps that aren't there.

Watch 1st 5 laps and tell me any different!

22 i think...

and Joey i thought you made only one pitstop at lap 18 or something. I thought you were screwed, i didn't notice your first pitstop, lol.

I only went for the gaps that were visible, and I tried to make sure that I didn't make any contact atall, if I did I am sorry but I am pretty sure there was nothing major. And I'm sorry, but if I have the opportunity and space on the inside to make it work, which I'm sure I did, I will go for the pass, and having to go wide because someone is overtaking you happens very regularly in real motorsports, and it's fair, as long as you don't physically push them out of the way, which I'm sure I didn't. Either way, it was the only way to get past you because if I tried an ultra-clean pass, you would just totally ignore me and almost physically push me off the track because you did not want to yield. And getting close to you? I was careful with it, I didn't just drive into the back of your car, it's called pressuring and again, is something that happens in real-life motorsports.

Seeing as we're going into more detail on this, I also noticed a lot of track cutting from you, especially at the double right-hander, and some dangerous manoeuvres in the last sector. A few times at the fast left-hander, where you would go wide and then come back on track as if nothing happened, and once at the last chicane where you went wide at the first right and cut the corner without slowing down, almost crashing into as me as I went into the left-part of the chicane. Plus there was the two incidents where you drove into the rear corner of my car, making me slide, luckily I didn't spin out.

Besides this though, it was a good race, some great racing with Kyaw, I will leave Joey to judge the incidents as he is the Organiser and whatever he says, I will go with it. I won't be here for the next two races either, I'll be on holiday, and I get back on the 31st, so I'll try to make that race although I will be quite tired!

I was just hanging back and watching you and Biffy battle it out and i took the opportunity when there were actual gaps.

You had some crazy divebombs from going wide onto the run off areas at 130R and you should have yielded when you went wide/off at the chicane almost forcing me to go off track.

It was fun at the beginning anyway, i was pretty surprised at how good i was doing with less than 30 minutes of practice but i like and know Suzuka well.

Unfortunately the fun ended when i spun coming out of the 'S' bends onto the curve leading to Dagnor 1.

Well done Biffy, thanks for great racing and great battles.

I just saw the replay Phil, and i have to say "like a cougar catches its prey" was a bit exaggerated from me, i apologize for that. But it really felt that way in the heat of the moment when you suddenly appeared. Still at that very moment you just didn't gave me enough room and forced me into the grass whit one wheel and thats why i crashed my car.

I'm still surprised Phil & Joey did a two stop.

Damn.

Damn.

If I had a good start instead of falling to last I'd probably have done a 1 stop as I wouldn't have been pushing every lap to catch up.

Anyway onto Laguna Seca:).

what are the results of the race :ouch:

what are the results of the race :ouch:

Provisional results
1st: Biffy
2nd: Kyaw
3rd: Erik
4th: Arkano
5th: Joey
6th: Phil
7th: Maxi
I think this is correct?

Final standings will be posted sometime tomorrow after I review the race for any incidents.

Heh I was pushing as hard as I could every lap  Although at least my tyre wear was dead even..not used to that with the GT-R.

And the same applies to me then!

Kyaw was just as close but me and him never had any trouble, nor me and joey at the end.
I can get aggressive, but I never intentionally set out to hit anyone at any time, I even lost staying with you 2 on lap 5 after I had to brake hard and move off line to avoid you.

No prob Maxi, couldn't remember hitting you!

I've updated the OP with the current standings.:)

Penalties for race 1 at Suzuka:-
Phil_75:
10 second penalty for an illegal overtake cutting the corner at Degner and causing an avoidable collision with Biffy.
5 second penalty for crossing the white lines while exiting the pits.
Arkano:
5 second penalty for crossing the white lines while exiting the pits.

Race results:
R1_Suzuka_Results.png

Arkano you would have kept 4th position if you hadn't crossed the white lines ;)

nice to see the results whit all the bests laps, etc..

I get a 5 second penalty for crossing the pit lines, but I get nothing for pushing you onto the grass?

Convenient that it's only 5 seconds with you finishing a tenth behind me, but there you go. I'd like to see picture evidence too, because I'm pretty damned sure I stayed inside the lines. I didn't save the replay so I can't refer to that.

Oh well, no change.

My penalty was doing 2 stops!

Front tyre wear is horrendous on Cusco!

So I did no wrong as I thought whilst battling with Biffy apart from the 1 mistake which I admitted, Great work!
