Fly bomber upside down...........nope can't see that working either LOL
As for the time of day and weather effects theres a lot of combinations to chose from some of which really make you change the way you aproach a match, try capture the runway at dover at dusk.........you really need to get down low to even see the runways and a bit of map knowledge helps alot. as for the rain and low cloud cover, well hiding in the cloud bank or aproaching enemys from the cloudbank is a good tactic.
I have been playing with the control responces as well, personal preferance is setting ailerons and elivator to half, but thats with the flight stick, might be worth turning them down a bit for the pad as well, as the default setting is FULL! Certainly smoothes things out especialy controling the recoil from the guns. Talking of recoil very short bursts of fire tends to keep it controlable as well.
I'm glad that everyone who's bought this game seems to like it, if you haven't try the demo, make sure though you give it a good go and try it on the realistic and simulation settings rather than just arcade.
Quick update, was just on the IL2 official forums and there really listening to "issues" over there, plenty of input from the devs as well, aparently there working already on a patch for some issues I hadn't come across, also theres a number of differences between the PS3 and 360 version. from what I can gather the devs are not enamered to MS and like to use the PS3 as a less restrictive platform as examples alot? Seems the 360 has a few quirks online which don't apear on the PS3 either. but thats all being sorted in the patch.
This seems quite odd to me as 1C (development team) are stalwart PC developers and the 360 should have been the easier system for them. This dosn't seem to have been the case though from some of the devs "snide" coments LOL
