Well thanks for the info about closing and reopening threads 👍 but yea it would be a good idea, but then again the info still will need to be updated into the OP so regardless it still will need to be put on here. But yea like mike said why don't people make a thread or use the debate thread to address their issues or to seek clarification rather then turning our only rep thread into this. Which is only making it more difficult for Nick to update by making him sift through countless pages that have absolutely nothing to do with unsuccessful or successful trades. Just my opinion though

But while poeple are adding to his payload its making a longer process even longer.
So by closing the thread people could help, Instead of One post for every single trade wait while the thread is locked and come back when it opens and post Once but put a few trades in that one post.:)
Makes it alot easier.?

OMGosh you have just said in that statement we do not need a new thread.
We just need to show that people have this and that score.?
So in other words the old thread did its job, Its just some people needed educating how it worked properly.

Maybe, or not. I've done over 100 auto trades, and well over 1,000 paint/item trades since there was a marketplace on GTP, and never missed a beat. Yet, I'm nowhere to be found?

I never said we didn't need the old one :) what I have been saying is that obviously the mods have decided we do, hence old thread closed and this one open.

I believe we should of been given a fair shout at what we needed and how it went about.:) Rather than a 6 post discussion.:(

Most of the GTPlanets traders who used the old thread and until this was thrown upon us knew how it worked and understood how to use the old thread.

I also belief it should be open to all opinions that have been shown in this thread that have made clear they don,t want this that or other in it.?
I mean for Gods sake its us that use it lets have a say on how its run.

1 scoring system few have said they don,t need it.

2 Old status and old thread amalgamated into the new thread.

3 People are at the moment and by the looks being catorgorised into a scoring system that Makes any New member very little chance of climbing on to the ladder of trading when all people will see that score and want to trade with some one who has a good score.?
Thats really great all GTPlanet members because that go,s against everything what I believe GTPlanet is all about being friendly to new comers.

So now you see can why I don,t agree with what has been done and I can see all these newish people thinking they are equivelent to people who have been here a long time.
Wrong a reputation is built on friendship and being friendly with whom you trade with, Scores are for people who want to be on a leader board.
Thats what the scoring system will do.
Every will get to a situation that they will only trade with some one over a certain score.:(
Now do you se why this thread has flaws.
Might as well go edit all my threads and tell people unless you have a rating over what ever don,t post here am not trading with you.:)

Another thing the OLD thread worked it was self suffeicent it RAN itself.
Thats been explained numerous times throughout of what I have said.

I think its a question of updating the old thread to tell people how to use it correctly rather than fetch a new thread.
Some one has already pointed that out.?

It is major catastrophe. You cannot make heads or tails out of it. It's very difficult to see who is who, who is doing what, who can you trust (trading wise), etc. etc. etc.

I am willing to make the effort to better organize this thread, clean it up, so to speak. I ask that it be shut down (if the thread ownership is given to me). The shut down time will allow me to go through well over 400 pages and over 8200 posts. As far as the shut down time is concerned, I cannot or will not make a claim as to when it will re-open (work schedule and life outside of this forum). I hope you can understand this. At the present time, I can give a couple hours a night to it. Hopefully it will not take an extensive amount of time in doing so.I will give my best attempt at getting it better organized and up and running again ASAP. I think it will make life a lot more easy to see if a member is on the "good trader list".

Why don't we just have a moderator close it down and start over, with the new thread a product of the lessons learned from the old?

Sounds like you'd be able to acheive everything you wanted to in a fraction of the time.

Yea it was suggested but it was decided by a Mod. If you read the last comment on the old thread you'll see what I mean. But yea I agree it happened rather fast.

See if they can look over what people have had to say on the matter.

EDIT: And regarding the last message in the Old thread I think you will find that most people who use GT5 Marketplace will have read it. Like me.? Simply becuase its in a GT5 area.?
Thats what of should of happened to the debate of the link given a short while back. If it was posted in a place in a GT5 section then more comments would of been made regarding the applying of the new thread.?

Instead of being posted in a obscure place a discussion might of arisen.:(

I have given valid points on why this is the crappiest thing I have seen done here since becoming a member.
You are just going over every point I and many have put across and they have been answered clearly.
Not thinking correctly but like I say these are my points and many others points too.

I'm quite sure the mods will have no qualms about the happenings in this thread whatsoever, given it directly relates to the trading community, IE, ALL of us, and how this thread should be properly run, if at all.
I understand your reasoning for wanting to be the good soldier and just play follow the leader, but that's not going to positively affect this discussion. Many, many valid points have been made, and should be open for discussion. There are both sides to each argument, but 'let it be' isn't satisfactory with me.

Yes but the suggestion was made by someone who is not a mod and does not even use the marketplace. I believe it was made by their lack of understanding, now that senior members who actually use the marketplace have spoken up the topic is up for re-debate at the very least.

I may not have the ability to close threads. But surely GTP's stance isn't to not ignore the opinions of it's members? It's premium members none the less.

Perhaps but there is a debate thread already and a mod has clearly send to use this thread for "positive reps". I didn't see anywhere where he said voice your complaints there. I have absolutely no problem with people voicing their concerns just why in this thread? As people clearly know about the "debate" thread with them referring to it and it doesn't appear to be closed.

Tell you what, There,s a debate thread why don,t you go over there and wait for a comment coming thats irrelevent to why people are angry at the installation of a the new reputation thread.
Then when you have hung around long enough ask me if its over there.?

That thread has served its purpose. It did that within the first 3 posts.
It will do like any other thread and drift into the achirves.? LIke every other post that has served its purpose.

The old thread may have contained a few of 'this thread hasn't been updated in a long time', usually by newcomers to the site or the forum, and it was true. But to say that took away the credibility of the thread is ignorant at best. A simple search of that thread would yield any answers a member may have regarding his/her credentials.
If this thread were designed to be 'all it could be' then I would like to think all the user ratings to date would have been tallied from the old thread to reflect an accurate representation of that user.
I YLOD'ed back in the early summer, and went months without trading. Before that happened (and before the 2.03 update) I must have had over 200 trades under my belt. Coming back in September, I regained my footing (and a new PS3) and started to keep records of my trades, for intensive purposes. My point being, is all that accreditation moot because a new, 'improvised' system is in place, without the backing of the general community?
I for one will not sit back and allow a dictatorship approach to something that affects the entire community, one I participate in regularly.

Yea it's bad, but I have never said that I agree with this or for you to not voice your opinion. What I have been saying is to take it up with a Mod, as Chris did and thank you for that 👍 or post in a thread that is more relevant to the subject of the thread. This thread is for positive reps, we have a thread in which a debate on this subject was made. People are still outraged so obviously the debate is not over. So no that thread is not no longer valid and also it's not closed.

While am at it the Help Desk is not just specific to GT5 its more of a general place to post for help on matters regarding GTPlanet.? Unlike the marketplace which is more specific to GT5.

Agreed. I find it a bit unfair that this whole movement was put forth where not many of the GT5 Marketplace users peruse. The fact that a mod and a user (of whom I've never seen around the marketplace, not to say he doesn't trade though) decided this was the route to take, to not include the marketplace community, and do it without much feedback at all, is appalling.
I, for one, vote no on the new thread, the old one was working just fine.

Well unfortuantely the other thread was finished in 3 posts.? Just because its not wearing a big padlock it doesn,t mean its not over.
Meaning it was decided on the Janurary 9th. In the 3rd post.
So that means the new reputation thread was going to be up and running.

It was also in my opinion posted in an area of GTPlanet that was very obscure to regular users who use GTPlanet just for GT5.
