on akina when u make the hairpins turn hard and shift to thirs when your half way out of the turn shift up to 4 from 3.

what cars do you have in your garage.

with what car? one that turns real good?

with a car that u have to drift around iro, like an FC, you've gotta initiate the drift somehow - i do it by shifting down.
on the tighter corners, i tap the brake as well.

speed also improves when u know your shift points and know when it's ok to go back up from 3 to 4. this gets faster as you get more points - in my ~450k FC it's usually immediately after the corner (3 -> 4 is at 6200RPM)

have u guys played that intial D game on the shockwave site? pretty sweet...

I have yet to give version 3 a try....too expensive over here....

i gave it a try finally...it looks like they cut back on the power of the stock EV4...I dont' like...=(

no more "clipping" or "jumpy graphics" when cars clip each other....which is a good thing....texture looks nicer, and the whole thing looks nicer...

but don't u guys find the game somewhat.....slower? like, it FEELS a bit slower tahn version 2?

hey, just saw this thread..a little late. Here a litlle info on me:
Version 2 player
Red FC3S (Second Gen RX-7)
Fully Tuned Car
Racer Level:13
Batlle Level: 25
Arora Color: Green
I bring times later

it feels slower.....cuz I know with that car, I shift into 5th on akina downhill at 150km/h.....but in this game, it seems that i have to shift into 5th at 134 or so?

the handling is somewhat the same....top speed seems to be a bit slower....tho i haven't had a chance to reach teh top speed yet since I dont' play much......but the turbo lag isn't as bad....I can drop as low as 6500 rpms without causing the engine to "halt" due to lack of turbo in the lower RPMs......

Hi there, I didn't know that this was here. Anyway, I'll give my profile in Initial D V-2. I've been playing since V-1, and considered "one of the most feared automatic-tranny driver" in Vegas. Well just to cut the story short, my profile in the game is racer lvl 30 and battle lvl 30, but I have'n seen my battle aura yet so, not to get excited yet. Well here are the my time trial stats (only the course that I play the most):
Initial D name: M L L
CAR: [DC2] Honda Integra Type-R (option C) {A/T}
Myogi-CCW-D: 2'50.xxx
CW-D: 2'50.xxx
Akagi-DH-D: 2'19.7xx
UH-D: 2'23.xxx
Akina-DH-D: 2'54.8xx
UH-D: 3'06.xxx
DH-W: 3'00.xxx
Happo OB-D: 2'18.xxx
OB-W: 2'20.xxx
IB-D: 2'17.5xx
IB-W: 2'21.xxx
Four Course-D: 10'14.xxx
W: 10'18.xxx

Battle stats: total of 550 races, win ratio: 91.6%

Well that's it. :)
I'll scan my Memory Card later to prove you guys that I'm not lying.

here are my ver.1s if any one cares. haha:lol:

There is an Initial D arcade machine at the movie theater near my house. However, I haven't gotten a chance to play using one of the cards. It seemed like a lot of fun though. I was wondering, how I could get an Initial D craze going here? There are a couple of people with cards here, but not many. I was thinking about organizing tournaments. What do you guys think?

BTW, which cars in the game can be modified?

all the cars. as you play, you get points. at certain point levels the computer automatically upgrades this or that part.

later on, there are variations you can make... at the end of a race you might be offered different rims or exhaust system which you can choose to "purchase" for so many of your points.

I already saw my (battle level 30) aura the color is quite odd, it looks like a 'greenish emerald', I thought it was suposed to be white, I don't get it?! Anyway, still kicking ass, 28 consecutive wins and 91.8% win ratio (out of 500+ races). :)

Update: I just got my card on Saturday and I am pleasantly surprised by the addictiveness of this game. I currently have an Impreza STi Version 6 (GC8) with a new exhaust and a Syms rear wing and front spoiler.

I'm trying to beat Zach and his damn R32, but I am also challenging Maya and Simone (think those are the right names) in Usui. I have played about 24 games at $1 each (that adds up real quick:lol: ) but I am still a noob.

I was wondering how you guys beat Zach, and what the best car is for the job (in case I have to buy a new card).

BTW, in case you haven't already figured out, I am playing Version one (at least I think I am).

Thanks man, I have one more question though. How did you beat Zach's R32?

i presume that your having trouble with the huge turn right? well if you r having trouble on that turn let go of the gas then turn the steering wheel as hard as you can, then when you half way around the turn hit the gas.

BTW: where ya from?

depends on what car u using too...if u using a FR or MR car, you'll have to do a pretty large counter steer after steering into that turn hard. a slight release of gas should be helpful

if u using an FF or AWD, you probably have to release a bit more gas than you would with the FR and MR cars...but then countesteering is minimal...wtih the FF and AWD, you gotta watch out for clipping the outside wall..

I think any car can beat zach's R32.....tho in version 1, he was pretty challenging.....but then for version 2, due to the change in car behaviour, all the opponents are easy spankings.

ah yes....the MR-S....that was an intense car. omg. played mr-s vs. 180 down akina...simply insane

what's even more fun is evo 4 in akina downhill snow....i love how sideways the evo gets in the snow! =)
