Well... I stopped, hit the handbrake, and it doesn't work properly. Instead of revving on the spot like every other car... the wheels locked and I got tons of tyre smoke with it rolling along. Anyone else had this?

Put comfort hards on the back and racing softs on the front. Try it. Make a video.

Also... my Integra RM has 398hp.

Slightly Off-topic... but talking of fun... a NASCAR on comfort tyres is funny as hell!

I wonder if this affects any other FF cars at high power though?

What exactly is the problem? It's common for a FWD car to drag its arse with the handbrake on, especially with those new-fangled electric handbrakes that have a mind of their own :p
Instead of low grip rear, high grip front, try the other way around - i.e. CH front, RS rear. That's assuming you're trying to do a stationary burn out?

In every GT game I can remember, the handbrake / rev thing has never worked on FWD cars - you need to stop and press and hold the normal footbrake instead, and then rev.
The handbrake method only works on RWD / 4WD cars because the game automatically puts the clutch in for you ;)

Oh right. I haven't driven many FF cars in truth with more than 200bhp. Probably why...

Try it in a Citroen Xantia or a C5 (you shouldn't need to tune them up). They shouldn't spin their wheels as they have the handbrake acting on the front wheels. Some of the Alfas could be the same but I can't say for certain.

Handbrake/E-brake..... two different things.

One lox all four wheels, one lox the rear wheels.
4WD: front wheels will still turn with handbrake.
4WD: front wheels will not turn with E-brake.
FWD: front wheels will still turn with handbrake.
FWD: front wheels will not turn with E-brake.
RWD: Don't be silly.

:irked:👍

I'm laughing so much right now, but im gonna take it easy..
Glitch ? If this wasn't the result of your actions it would be a glitch, as it stands that is exactly how you do a FWD burnout.

How many people on this site actually drive a real car ?

It doesn't take 200hp in real life, it can happen in your mum's 1.5litre N/A Mazda Familia / Honda City with ease

1.5 liters for a Honda City, that's a pretty large engine actually ;)

It is sad seeing some of the comments on here. What's worse is when these people with nearly 0 experience begin spouting off about one car they've never even seen in real life being better than another car they've never seen in real life.

I've owned several 4wd's, awd's, fwd's and rwd's (currently own 4wd, awd and rwd) and on every vehicle the e-brake/hand brake/parking brake is active on the rear axle only.

An emergency brake is simply a parking brake, with utilizes a much smaller caliper/drum to independently brake wheels.
It typically activated by a pedal on the floor, or a lever in the vehicle... aka handbrake.

My guess is that you are confusing a parking brake (which can be operated by hand with a lever in the vehicle and is also refered to as an emergency brake) with a driveline brake, with actually is an independent brake at the rear of the transmission that brakes the driveshaft.
In this situation which brakes will be actuated is dependent on which end of the vehicle the primary driveshaft goes to, what type of transfer case the vehicle has, or what gear the transfer case is in.

There likely are vehicles that have the parking brake set up to work on the front axle, or all 4wheels, but they are not the norm.

For 1) We already have a thread dedicated to bugs/glitches,that aren't glitches and are in fact reality.
2) It is clearly not a glitch.
3) When did i say anything about one car being better than another? Let alone a car i apparently haven't seen irl.
4) Stupid questions deserve stupid answers.

not missing anything Dennisch it appears that there are people on ehre who dont know how real cars work. I havent driven them much myself in real life. but I do own/ride/crash/rebuild motorcycles. cant be bothered with doing my car license because insurance on just about any car (including the vauxhall/opel corsa 1.2 comfort) is nearing on £4000. my motorbike which is an RF600 costs £170 my zzr (when it wasnt in pieces) was £450 and that is a 186mph motorbike too.

lol where the hell was that going basically I dont drive cars because they cost a lot, but I still know how cars work and I have been a very big car fan all my life :D the landrover for example has a drive locking handbrake which (from the movies only) it seems a lot of american cars have. when they put their handbrake on you can see the car roll backwards and forwards. but then this could just be the parking brake in the autos :D

most normal family cars have the common handbrake/ebrake setup a cable or electric to drums inside the rear wheel brakes. even if the rear has discs on it.
