sorry guys but looks like im not going to be making the 1st race.

one of my mates 21st i for got about(i know... again).

However this is just before the mate in question is shipped to Afghanistan, so worse case scenario this could well be the last Birthday he has. Reeeaaaallllllllly hope to god it isn't but you guys understand why the is no way I can miss this.

Il see you guys at race 2 of the season

shame on you! :)

I would kick your ass if you put GT5 over this Netherdragon :irked: But I do hope it's the last 21st I see you type :scared:

There are many other possibility's. :trouble:

Well lately there have been some online issues when people don't see each other in the room. Looks like some people are loading and you cant see that guy on track even if he is there.

This might be your problem or it might be the other guy who have a problem.

The private lobby works like a torrent and if you used a torrent client you should know its a good thing to be connectable. The same thing goes for a private lobby.

I had a look at the NAT2, and somehow NAT2 isn't just NAT2 You seem to get NAT2 even if you should have NAT3 or should I call it NAT2,5

I get NAT2 on my ps3 with the router all closed up and UPnP off and I get NAT2 if I use a DMZ host and open up all the ports to the IP of the ps3. I get NAT1 if my ps3 get the internet IP and not a lan IP (bridge mode in my router)

The UPnP works like a automatic port forward controlled from within the local netverk, but to use it the router need to support UPnP and you should get a message of that when checking your ps3 network if it say unavailable it really doesn't matter if the router should support UPnP. If this is the case turn UPnP off.

But if you turn this off. Well then you should open some ports in your router pointing to your ps3.
First you need to set a fixed IP on your ps3 so the opened up port doesn't change to your laptop or something stupid when you turn off your ps3 and start your laptop 5minutes later.
well instead of me telling you how to do it I give you a link to a site telling you how to fix it. And even if you are at NAT2 without open up the port, can you for all us try it out?

I know some of you might think.. But it worked before, it cant be me, it have to be the new guy!! Well since then the PSN have given us a few updates and the problem seem to come with the update prior to the last one.

And I also didn't post this to discuss network with you guys, I read up a lot lately and talked to several network experts to try solve this. I have a few friends working on tech support for my own ISP and I ordered in a new personal router so I can set the built in router in my fiber converter to bridge mode. Since this router isn't really the best out there :)

I did what I could to solve this issue, but as it is a peer to peer system, everyone driving have to do the same effort to solve this.

Have a blast guys :)

And I have opened up a practice room guys, please join in :)

I don't understand anything about it but i certainly try anything to fix the problem if its in my power to do so...:dunce:

i will give it a try tommorow...👍

Well if you check the gran turismo in game manual it is actually described pretty good under 9-17 port forwarding. But you have to figure out your router yourself :) or just read the manual for it.

IDK, but I haven't been feeling this anxious (speeling check please) since my 1st ever league race on NR2003 (old NASCAR sim game for the PC)! Haha, it's good to have this feeling going thru me again!!

That's a great feeling, hold on to it :) I just hope we have a really careful clean first corner 👍 Hope no one dives into it and think the finish line is at the second chicane :indiff:

As far as I know your spelling is correct. Anxious that is. But I'm from Norway and English it's not my native language so what do I know 💡

And good luck on your first race tomorrow Michelin :scared:

I'll get around to doing the PS3/port thing when I wake up in the morning Erik :)

Good to see you're all anxious and ready Michelin, hopefully the races goes smoothly tomorrow and I cruise to a glorious victory for the motherland.

You know there's a certain brazilian that will not leave that easily, ya know.

Why you so scared? I'm just gonna divebomb everyone like there's no tomorrow hoping that the finish line is at the second chicane, no worries (lol I'm joking!)

After seeing formula 1 from Spa last weekend. And how the Brazilian took the first corner.. lol just kidding :)

i used the link in your post Erik. I have gave the numbers of my router/laptop completely manual into my internet settings of my PS3. I don't know what all those numbers mean but i really hope it solves the online issues. :dunce:

Nice Maxitsu I found the link I posted missed one port compared to what GT5 manual says. UDP 5658 should also be added to your router.

I might be able to use a wired connection for tonight but that depends on what my sister is doing. That's definitely better than messing around with the router so my dad shouts at me next time he can't get online.

This is a good site to use, it shows you how to forward ports on lots of different routers. You just select the router you have and the program or network you want to forward then just follow the instructions. ;)

Edit: Oops, I forgot the link  http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

Also would it be ok to start the race at 9:45? I've got to pick up the gf from work again tonight.

you can pick her up after the race 💡
she will wait and understand you had some serious business :)

Yeah don't worry we can start a little bit later tonight :)

Yes, qualy will start at 9pm BST still although we'll have an extra 15 minutes to qualify :)

There must be a reason :l

Is your router NAT type 2?

Talking srsly, those router thing are my mother that knows about...

You must be able to restart your router, there should be a switch on the back somewhere, just turn it off, wait around 30 seconds, and turn it back on again :)

Did you try the things I posted earlier? about port forwarding?

EDID If you cant restart it, unplug it :)

Just so you know I'm at work at the moment.. So that's why I won't be able to make the race tonight.

Bit off topic but what day are we going to have the inevitable f1 2011 championship on?

I have no idea :o

Okay, that start was complete bull. I got a good start and was about to overtake a calsonic on the right but as I was coming along side he blocks me (don't know if it was intentional or if he just didn't see me) so I move over to the middle as I still had more speed than the guy in front and I passed him. As we got to turn 1 I got hit from both sides which caused me to tap a yellowhat then going round the long right hander turn 3 I was side by side with another car and then some numpty (don't know who) decided to force his way through a gap that clearly wasn't there between me and the other car and pushed my left wheels off the track making me spin out.:banghead:
