Not true about the second part.

If I paint a car chrome that was originally black, and then send it to someone else (or I receive it) then I also get the new colour which is Chrome.

Really? Last time I painted a car Silver Chrome and sent it to someone, they didn't get the Silver Chrome chip... has something changed recently? :odd:

Nope. Nothing has changed.

You never get the colour chip you paint a car in, only the original colour chip when you trade a car in this game.

It's been this way since day one.

The car, of course, will be in the colour you painted it though.

When you paint a Sl 300 '54 the wheels will stay in the cars original color and you aren't able to change the wheels to aftermarket ones :ouch:

On the other hand, the firemen red wheels would look pretty sexy on a gray or black car...maybe.

Does anyone else think its weird how much faster the Esprit Sport 350 is than any other Lotus? I tested the '02 premium model on a 3 mile custom track along with the Sport and it was 10 seconds faster! :scared:

You do not get any prize money from finishing an online race at Twin Ring Motegi.

... I won't try that.

And, what? The Esprit Sport 350 is 10 seconds faster than the Motorsport Elise? I don't know about that...

I was referring to the 02 Esprit V8, which is actually a pretty bad car stock, considering i got a stock Nsx-r around the same track 2 seconds quicker.

so, wait... You mean that the '02 Esprit V8 is 10 seconds faster than the Esprit Sport 350, and that it's two seconds slower than an unmodified NSX-R?

The sport 350 was 10 seconds faster than the 02 Esprit.

the Nsxr was 2 seconds faster than the 02 Esprit.

Who would have thought GT5 would have predicted the car manufacture for future NASCAR. Dodge will be leaving NASCAR after this seaon. And guess what? There's no Dodge NASCAR in GT5

WHAT!!?? PD made a British car 8 seconds faster than their patriotic NSX-R, a car which perfectly demonstrates the epitome of Japanese design (doing more with less?) This is a blasphemous revelation! P.S., I love Japanese cars, I'm not hating.

Performance Points is the most inaccurate form of measurement ever conceived by man.

Based on what? Do we even know everything that factors into gt5s pp calculations, I know power weight and downforce (both inherent body shape and any added aero parts) but there could be more, who knows.........

I've been running a B-Spec 12 lap race around Deep Forest Raceway with Japanese cars.

The NSX Type R has just 1 point more than the next best. 1 point! Naturally which ever B-spec driver gets it will win going away. I've even had a brand new zero experience Bob win with it.

PP sucks on every conceivable level as far as I'm concerned.

If you peform an engine rebuild, then there's no need to change the oil or wash the car as it seems to be included. It's frustrating for me to find this out recently, as I had been buying things in the order that they appear in GT Auto, namely: car wash, change oil, & then engine rebuild.

:ouch:

Just throwing it out there... but in real life I wouldn't bother to change my oil before rebuilding the engine, since when you rebuild it the oil all has to come out anyway. Just a tip :)

Another weird thing is in photo mode, the scenery is all full of men apart from the one woman in the place where the trams go past

I've found (atleast in my copy of the game) that the Z34 is called both Fairlady Z and 370Z, (370Z being the one in GT Academy, and the Fairlady Z is the normal one)

That's because one is the Japanese version of the car and the other is the US/Europe version of the car.

Bern, Switzerland. The woman is someone famous, but, I can't put the name to the face.

Also, I think that it's a trick PD employed to save their work load; rather than model in 2 genders, why not just model in one, & then have a semi-static woman, whose movements are based on the movements of the men. If she doesn't walk, you would likely not even notice the difference.

It's my cousin's sister's best friend.

^ Oh hi there Mac, I believe you. Yes, because we, the Canadians, have so many ties to Switzerland. Clearly, she is the best friend of a Canadian.

Technically they are more patriotic to the Evos...I mean Miatas...I mean Skylines! :sly:

Well thats odd, because I don't know how I have so many chromes...
But you're probably right and I apologise and will take any blame for the confusion - its been a long time since I've traded for anything. 👍

Somehow pd think an isf deserves more pp than a m3, I think the isf is a level 10 so is the m5 somehow and the m3 is level 8 and has the wrong weight on gt5... I think (correct me if im wrong somewhere)

Woah, just noticed that. Maybe its something to do with the 8 speed transmission.

What level's the C 63? that might clear things up.

PP isn't always an accurate system; but I'm guessing it's the performance side of thing it looks at.

How does an M3 do in a straight line drag race compared to the IS-F in GT5?

The M3 is a faster and better car on track only because of handling. Otherwise the C63 would be king if it was just power. PP doesn't really include Suspension setups etc. so maybe that's why there is a slight difference.
