My internet explorer keeps hanging when i have this forum up, anyone else had similar problems?, just seems to be this site. just noticed its only doing it in the photomode gallery section.

This thread needs to be here. You can move it yourself, using the "thread tools" above your post.

I haven't had any problems myself.

the photomode forum is very graphic intensive. the images may be overlaoding your computer or internet connection.

Here is somethine to try. In your control panel for gtp, under options, you can unclick "show images". try this and see if it improves.

It's a scripting error i'm getting, works ok when it is terminated. Any Ideas as to what causes these? have turned off all third party internet explorer addons to see if that helps.

Could you provide a link to a specific page that causes errors for you?

its happenning at anytime on anypage in gtplanet. kinda frustrating as I come to browse the forum quite often. not having any problems with any other site I visit. Turned off show picture options in control panel. maybe a fault with windows scripting program and I may do a reinstall of windows if I cant resolve the issue by other means.

Happens to me on any page in the forum. Especially slow on pages with a lot of thumbnails or other images. One time IE gave me a message that scripts on the page were causing delays, would I like to keep running them? and I of course said no, after which things were better.

The behavior is basically as follows: Click a link to a thread, you see the top of the thread's page. Try to scroll down, and IE hangs for 10 to 30 seconds. Try to scroll further, another hang. Try to get all the way to the bottom in one step, it might take 2 minutes. Then it will hang as you go back up. Eventually, you will be able to scroll all the way up or down the page, but then you go to another page and start all over.

I use the forum from 3 or 4 different PCs, and it's much worse on the slow-boat I have at home than on the multi-gigaHz monster at the office. I've never thought until just now to watch CPU% while I'm in the site, but I'll take a look at that.

Edit: Here's what I got watching CPU utilization on a 1.6-GHZ P4, Win XP Pro, 1-GB RAM. There was no reading or scrolling, just navigating as quickly as I could.

Another follow-up: Just found the La-a-a-a-a-a-a-g thread https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=76093 and followed advice to turn off green text links and pop-ups in my MyGTPlanet Options, and all is well. Instant response again. I suspect it's the text links doing it.

I disabled everything, will get back to say if everythings ok. seems to be a problem for some. Update- everything is ok now I have disabled everything.

These certainly do appear to be causing a lot of problems. It may be time to start looking at other providers.
