Greetings all!

Gamer tag is Thorlandus, new to GT7. Haven't played since around GT3 I think it was? Found the community through Google, looking for tuning ideas.

Getting into Sim Racing due to physical limitations. A certain virus created issues that left me with nerve damage in my legs. They kind of do their own thing from time to time, and heavy stress can make my knees buckle. I'm not willing to risk a kid chasing their ball, or a dog chasing a squirrel to get behind the wheel again. (Specialized vehicle is not only financially not feasible, it's not driving at that point for me.)

I love to drive though, growing up GenX rebuilding classic American muscle with my father, I just love getting behind the wheel. Figured since wheel tech has gotten so good, I'd give it a shot.

I picked up a G923 and wheel stand, downloaded My First Grand Tourismo. Within maybe 3 runs of the Music Rally alone, I picked up the full game. Then I made the mistake of getting PSVR2... less than a week later, I'd ordered a Logitech RS50 (the load cell brake is perfect for my leg issues), an Ares Wing cockpit, and an LG OLED 800r monitor for games like Wreckfest.

I don't get much use out of the monitor, other than menu use in GT7, to be honest. The VR aspect is perfect for me, and is nearly as therapeutic as driving a legit car. Have since passed down the G923 to my sister's husband, along with a copy of GT7 and a PSVR2 for Christmas, so I'm spreading the addiction as well.

Looking forward to reading tuning and livery tips, and potentially seeing any of you out on the track. I'm more for open lobbies at the moment, but have begun dabbling in Sport mode enough to get out of E rank. To be honest, I'm the type of driver this is going to be more concerned with my SR than my DR - I'm here for the fun, and I place where I place.

If I make a mistake that costs you position, I'm the type of driver that's going to slow down and give the position back so... take it easy on me out there? 👍

PS - forgot to mention, East Coast USA here.

PSS Oh, I couldn't even begin to tell you when I first starting playing racing games. I can, however, tell you the name and system.

In an arcade, Pole Position. On console, Endurro Racer - Atari 2600. 🤣

I'll have to keep an eye out for your stuff. Along with GT7, I do have Beam and AC on Steam, as well as a Quest 3. I plan to dive into those at some point for some open world like experiences... just having so much fun in GT that I haven't gotten around to setting it all up. I think the only thing I do on the Quest right now is bowling and a Zombie invasion, both AR/MR. Lol

Hello!
  • I found GTPlanet by searching for Gran Turismo 4 content.
  • I'm from the Dominican Rep.
  • I started playing games about as soon as I started gaming, on an on and off
basis (~6-8yrs old).
  • I don't play with a wheel because I dont have one :( But I would like to.
  • I also enjoy JRPGs, action games, fighting games, I'm open to more games but
those three are my favorite genres.
- I'm looking foward towards learning more about Gran Turismo projects (Mods+)

Hello everyone!
Aussie here, 23, decided to make an account on this website as gran turismo 3 was the first ever video game i ever played
And for this reason, this game series holds a special place in my heart
Hope everyone is doing good ^_^
Welcome to the GTPlanet club mate! Enjoy yourself here.

Already posted a bit in the TT threads, but thought I may say hi over here as well.

This isn't actually my first time here as I briefly hung around the GT5 Weekly Race Series threads back in my anxious teen years (circa 2013, I think?), spending most of my time being frustrated at the dodgy and unreliable internet connection we had set up at home back in the day  I feel that the somehwat slower pace of a forum discussion is something that I'm more comfortable with than the rapidfire conversations in Discord communities - hence the thought that getting back here could be a good idea :)

I'm about to hit 30, been playing racing games for pretty much the entire life, most lately going through a phase of getting into PC simracing and gradually becoming burnt out on it over the last couple of years - what I'm appreciating about GT7 these days is how it still conveys a competitive and deep racing experience, yet streamlines or cuts down a lot of the nitty-gritty you must keep in your mind at all times if you don't want rF2/ACC/iRacing to constantly find ways to trip you over.

Switched from a T300, currently collecting dust, to a controller some time ago - some may call it a downgrade, I call it a simplification :)

My PSN friends leaderboard is currently completely empty, so if you are fine with having a stranger appearing on yours, do hit me up with an invite. Cheers!

I found gt planet playing gt 7
Im from Canada
I've played racing games since a kid
I play with the thrustmaster t128 steering wheel

Learning how to be a better driver and win some prizes

  • Asked Perplexity AI where to go for tuning GT7 cars.
  • Indiana
  • I don’t remember the title of it, but it was in the late 90s. My friend had it NASCAR based and on the PC I think ..we like turning around going backwards and wrecking into everybody
  • Negative on the steering wheel just dual sense edge PS5 controller
  • I try to enjoy 2K26 and MLB the show but I guess do to my sport playing iq it’s a uphill battle with more frustration then joy as I try escaping reality with video games.
  • Hopefully being able to finish races or properly play the game without it becoming a second job to learn how to play a game…. Struggle bus rider for sure, also not a huge fan of the new gaming model of by the title then paying for progress with in the game or info from outside of it .

I am in dire need of figuring out how and or where to go for info to set up my cars so I can actually turn on these tracks, and I’m novice that doesn’t know how to drive manual

Hi everyone,

I'm Radiate from the UK.

I've been playing racing games since I was a kid, starting with the early Gran Turismo games and continuing through to GT7 today. I race in organised GT7 leagues and spend most of my time in Gr.3 and Gr.4 racing.

I use a Thrustmaster T598 wheel and enjoy improving racecraft, strategy and consistency.

Outside of racing I'm interested in technology and AI, and I'm currently developing a GT7 championship analysis tool called R79 to help analyse race calendars and recommend cars based on track characteristics, fuel use and tyre wear.

Looking forward to learning from the community and getting involved in discussions.

Hi, I really like the gameplay of Gran Turismo. I played the first and second games on PS1 years ago, and I currently play the fourth one on an emulator. It's the only one that's truly complete in simulating upgrades, pit stops, etc. It's a shame they removed that feature in the fifth and sixth games.
Besides the fact that it's a shame that 7 isn't on PC, since there's nothing similar on that platform, there have been attempts but almost nothing.

Hello man, welcome to the site! I'm glad you found us by searching for racing forums. Enjoy all the threads here.

Hi everyone,

New to the forums -found the GT7 tune part of the forum with web searches and tried some of them out. I used to play GT5 on my old PS3, hadn't really played a lot since, but last year got a PS5 and my wife got me GT7. After a shaky start (I wasn't all that great in GT5 anyway!) I kind of continued where I went, essentially slapping as much tuning parts as possible on cars and putting the most sticky tires on ;) I found the tunes here really helpful to get rid of that habit.
I don't have a fancy setup (standard PS controller) and started with the old GT5 control setup (X for throttle) and had to re-learn after figuring out that the default controls work better... I usually try to play 2-3 stints a week, doesn't always work out though.
Currently doing single races with tire wear and fuel consumption enabled -need to re-adjust my driving again ;-)

I used to play flight simulators (WWI/WWII) on my PC wayy back as well.
IRL I work in IT, and maintain and ride my 2 motorcycles. (1971, 1974) As you might imagine I like classics and use them in GT7 a lot. Wish they'd bring back the Bellett GT-R from GT5.

Nice to be here!
